I unfortunately did not share in the same amazing experience as everyone else. I brought in a new…read moreto me 1993 LS400 that was leaking oil from the valve covers, barely failed the 25mph portion of the smog test for hydrocarbons, and I asked about a timing belt job as well as possible spark plugs and wires. I left the car and agreed to the diagnostic fee. No issues there. Darlene called me back and confirmed that the valve covers were indeed leaking, and provided a quote of around $1,000. I asked if it needed a timing belt job or if the tech thought it could also be camshaft/crankshaft seals. She put me on hold and then said "Oh yeah, it needs a timing belt job too." Not sure why she wasn't prepared with that information, but it seemed odd. The quote for that was above $2,500. I then asked about the smog and Darlene told me I had lazy catalytic converters and that they needed to be replaced at almost $3k. All in all, the quote was going to be $6,500+. I don't know if this diagnostic was malicious or simply negligent, but either way it was unacceptable. I picked up the car the next day and took it to another shop. The other shop told me I didn't need new cats, then did the valve cover gaskets, timing belt job, spark plugs & wires for about $1,000 cheaper. They also replaced the PCV valve I provided ($20 part) for free and the car passed smog with flying colors. Sure the cats may have fixed it, but you shouldn't go with the nuclear option first, at the expense of the customer.

I was able…read moreto bring my bug right in, and he took care of all the needed repairs in a very timely fashion. Did great work, was a very good communicator, and literally worked over a holiday so I could get my daily driver back. So nice to work with kind, local people! I needed new cylinders on all four brakes, so it wasn't an inexpensive repair, but I felt the pricing was fair and the work quality excellent. Know that they won't automatically call and tell you what a repair is going to cost, so if that information is important beforehand, just ask. Incredibly kind, knowledgeable people, and a wonderful shop!

Be careful! I wanted…read moreto give this auto repair shop a good review but I can't. I took my car here to get diagnosed for an intermittent problem I had when starting the car. Typically a mechanic will call you and tell you what repair is needed before doing the work. Instead of calling me the owner went ahead and made $300 in repairs to replace a single sensor located in a very easy to get to part of the engine. I could have replaced that sensor myself in 5 minutes. He never called me and refused to budge on the price of the repair even when I pointed out that running a diagnostic and replacing a sensor doesn't take 1.5 hours. He also topped off all my fluids in my car without my permission and charged me $21 for just that. It's unfortunate because i planned to take my VW back there for more work in a few weeks but now I can't trust them.

Nail in my tire was patched up in less than 30. Nice comfy waiting room where I plugged my laptop in and worked. They also have a nice seating area outside too. Didn't really get to do much work, but didn't mind the speedy service at all. Thanks Todd and staff for being so solid. Great value and professionalism! I'll be a customer for life here.

Are they efficient, are they hustling? For sure. Competitive rates?--check. Good communication?--check. Knowledgable?--check. A friend told me once , "The secret of being really successful in sales is not closing the deal. It's helping people find their way." I must have taken up an hour or more of Todd's time trying to figure out what I wanted for my truck. Spacers, lift kits, offsets... on and on! In the end I learned a lot and they did not get their sale. What they did get is my trust. It takes time and a willingness to have a conversation (sometimes many!) to figure out what people think they want vs what actually serves them best. That is rare today. This is not a business model that "scales up"; you can't automate or AI this kind of exchange. This is an old family business. Jeff Kalemba took over his father's business, swapping the first name for the last and expanding services, infrastructure and inventory steadily. Sometimes the kids are helping out. Todd and the crew keep things purring along, somehow finding the time for that deeper connection so lacking in the world today.
