I am disappointed. Makes NO sense to me that they would not schedule me ahead for an estimate appt. to replace glass in my many old windows, residential. They said they'd call within 24 hrs or the same day "when they are in my area." If they had said, we will call you within a few days, fine. That is not the plan. Clearly they don't want my business. Who operates like this!? I would have waited a few weeks for an appt. How do they even get business without timely estimates? I have had two quotes and was eager to get another since the reviews for this company are good. I will never know. read more

Update! The project went well. Five windows were installed for the agreed price in the agreed time. Our family is happy and warm. There is one issue not generated by Jack's glass as a window manufacturers failed to supply a screen cover. Janine was informed of this and had a solution already in the works when I brought this up. Everyone cleaned up after their project in the bedrooms and we could hardly tell anyone was there other than the nice windows in our house. After another company was basically a clown car with no one knowing what they were doing, taking out the wrong window, sizing the glass incorrectly and messing with our schedule for months and months, Russell came over and diagnosed our windows' issues, got the right sizes ordered. Lead time was reasonable, communication with the company was good, everyone knew what was going on and they called to do the install as soon as the parts came in. This place is like businesses used to be in the "good ole days" when prices were reasonable and work was based on quality. We had a small job because our cat has been trying to escape through the bathroom window and did make some headway on the screen. He keeps forgetting he's an outside cat and can just meow at the back door to go out. Anyway, the small screen was pretty messed up. I have a vintage custom display cabinet that I discovered had a huge a crack in its glass wall. It's part of a set so merely replacing it wasn't an option. And while I was hopeful that it could be repaired, I was steeling myself to mourn its loss. So I drove to Jack Smith glass after finding their name here on Yelp to roll the dice. Enter Deborah (who incidentally is the kindest person in the damn world)! She said she thought it could be fixed, took my name and number, and said she'd call me when it was done. TWENTY MINUTES LATER my phone rings and I'm 100% certain they're calling to tell me it can't be fixed and that I'm f**ked. But, nope, not Goddess of Glass Deborah. She says it's all done! What?!?! Yep, I can just turn my ass right around and come get it. I almost cried happy tears, for real. Not only did she fix it in record time, she gave me tips on caring for this one and her sister cabinets, and their prices were beyond reasonable. I am seriously a customer for life! A quality product, but EXTREMELY frustrating customer experience. Very, very difficult to coordinate scheduling and installation of shower glass, and further delays due to repeated measurement errors. We made 10+ phone calls over several weeks; virtually all of went unreturned :( Apparently staff are not empowered to make scheduling appointments nor have visibility into the calendar themselves, and instead rely on a system of "post-it notes" left behind for someone who doesn't return calls. When we finally succeeded in scheduling an appointment and had our "install" day, one of the glass pieces was the wrong size. They had to re-order, and... once done, we then began AGAIN the process of trying to schedule an appointment... On the second install attempt, the piece was - yet again - the wrong size. Although the constant screaming and cursing of the install tech was mildly entertaining, it was also unprofessional - seemingly par for the course in working with this company. When I started out looking to replace our original vintage bathroom mirror, I didn't know what I wanted..I was thinking possibly framed. Maybe not. All recent reviews about customer service are pretty spot on. Called after receiving our quote over voicemail without any specifics other than 9 windows would cost almost $10,000. Essentially the lady on the phone was "yeah I called, what do you need..." um maybe some details. "Well you're replacing 9 windows." It was nice of her to let me know what I already knew. After further pressing I was informed what brand. Additional questions revealed what work was getting done and not done. Then they told me they wouldn't guarantee their work. When I asked why, they had stated because I was having my windows replaced....um....well yeah. After that we called another business who for $700 more replaced 3 more windows and a sliding glass door....and they guaranteed the windows and work for life. read more
