The staff is kind but the quality of care is poor. They have awful transfer procedures, failing to send prescriptions or orders, causing much suffering. After a lot of chaos, my mother had to go by ambulance to the hospital, where doctors found her dehydrated, they said her various lines/ tubes were "crusty" and she had a severe infection that had not been noticed. We had anxiously been awaiting some healing so she could come home, and we ended up with a huge loss in footing and more hospital time and treatments. The nurses actually apologize often for the doctors making bad decisions. Also, it's REALLY loud at night. read more

After my son died here a bit over 1-1/2 years ago from not being able to breathe; he'd suffered here for 5 months needing kidney dialysis, ended up with bed sores bleeding. He succumbed to lack of dialysis for over a month. The doctor denied him an emergency parancethis. Therefore, he died from a heart attack. WATCH OUT. read more

Most staff are hard working but all are unsupervised. As a result patient calls are often not answered for up to an hour, drugs are not dispensed correctly or on time, and patients are not informed of changes in their treatment until they occur. Emails go unanswered by case workers. Very poor communication with families. Referrals are not sent out to Counties requested rather kept in the Petaluma area and scheduled without prior notification. Steps of intervention were taken and immediately it was discovered that this facility didn't have the ratio of Nurses to patients as stated. Family member was transferred out immediately and locally where their was little to no documentation that followed. Upon arrival to Rehabilitation center the truth was revealed that the PEG tube and Treach had not been cleaned. Discharged with Pic lines and non existing medication list. Sedation medications were scheduled not being given as needed. This place should be shut down for Negligence and anyone who has patients there should request Health and welfare check by the local Law enforcement agency so that they are held accountable and responsible. read more

Horrible place, My mother in law almost died there from neglect, misdiagnosis, and failure to properly use diagnostic tools, like xray, lab work, etc. The Dr Altaf said he thought Americans expect too much. Only way to get your loved one out is to call an ambulance. A good place to complain to is Sonoma Mendocino Lake Medical Association, SMLMA. read more

He received dialysis during his stay and I have to give a big shout out to the dialysis nurse Josh for taking care of my uncle during his stay! If you want your loved one to have a second chance in life, do NOT admit them here. They will fill your ears with lies and make it seem like they're in the best of care. They will neglect your loved one especially in the ICU. Wound care team rushes through their wound cleaning and isn't attentive. Had to travel over 3 hours to this hospital just to fight for my loved one's health. My loved one went a week without contacting us and when we called them, a nurse answered their phone, without permission, to let us know they were sleeping. If we hadn't taken my loved one here, they would probably still be alive now. Awful place. read more

Horrible hospital where card games are going on in one room and patients are in the rest of the hospital period Not very sanitary hospital. It's very difficult to get out of since you're left in a pen like bad environment period Physical therapy is a joke if it comes by All about keeping you there long as possible. This is Not a hospital. Dont be fooled. This facility is Horrible. Do Not send your family or friends here. They kill people, not heal them. The lack of staff, lack of medical care, and lack of medical equipment, is just the beginning. What is Not happening here, is illegal. They promise care but force patients to stay in bed, deny rehab, ignore missed medications, sometimes forget to feed patients, rarely have a doctor onsite, ignore patients in soiled bed, and refuse to fix their lack of care. Patients continue to deteriorate while loved ones are left helpless with no actions towards facilities negligence. Should be shut down immediately!!! Please, please, please don't let your loved ones be transferred to this place. It's Not a Hospital. Its lack of equipment, lack of staff, and No means of a hospital quality of care. It's false advertising for them to continue as an acute care hospital. The nurses try to make do of their situation, they are forced to do tasks out of their scope of practice. Lizz Rodriguez Horrible place! PLEAS!!! Do not bring your family members to this place!! My father was here to help him get out of the ventilator and getting physical therapy. NEVER DID!! They only sat him once and that's because I begged them too! They put a rectal tube for so long that he was bleeding and had to be sent to the ER at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital! He got more wounds on his body then he had before coming here!! My father is a dialysis patient one day after having is treatment his fistula wouldn't stop bleeding I was the one noticing it after seeing him all covered by blood!! Thank God there was a dialysis nurse nearby that actually helped not like the nurses that didn't know what to do!! His nurse actually told me if I could hold pressure for an hour!!!! I wouldn't mind his my dad!! But come on!!!! It's there responsibility to do so!! After that he got send to the ER and when he came back they never notified me an other patient that was with my dad actually called my husband at night letting us know he was back at sonoma Speciality. Doctors never call family to give updates of how he was doing if he was getting better or not. Physical therapy is a JOKE HERE!! I had to be behind them all the time! My sister and even had to clean my father because he was all covered of poop even after they had "cleaned" him. His trach holder was never replaced by a new one in two weeks he was there is was all mushy and wet. I could go on and on of things happening in this place! Even personal staff from santa rosa hospital recommend sending my dad somewhere else. Patient from this place keep coming to Santa Rosa Memorial because of there diligence. read more

From urgent care to radiology, my experiences have been nothing but the the utmost best care I have ever received from a hospital, treated with dignity, respect and obvious expertise! Thank you Sonoma Specialty Hospital for taking such good care of our community! The people I have experienced here are beyond competent, caring and kind. I am very happy that my vote counted in keeping our local community with a hospital that has urgent care and radiology. I feel this is a great service to our community. Their urgent care services are from 9am to 9pm. When I came in, I expected a long wait, but I was seen quickly and there was no wait at that time. It seems some people may be unaware that this hospital now has urgent care facilities. I hope this review helps spread the word to our community. I was pleased with Dr. Flower at Urgent Care, her expertise in the area I injured, her extremely informative information, the anti inflammatory shots were injected smoothly and the explanation of what is going on, was on point! Thank you Dr. Flower! She explained my anatomy so well, I actually understand what I did wrong and what not to do again...and I left urgent care with tools and stretches that actually work! The physical therapist I was seeing was having me do things that were making me worse! I am SO grateful for Dr. Flower, this hospital staying in Sebastopol, the impeccable care and so much more. I don't usually love to talk about health issues publicly, but I feel this hospital deserves some serious recognition. I have been going to this hospital since it was Palm Drive and I have never had a bad experience or something bad happen to me here. I trust this hospital and staff. I understand that change can be hard, maybe even hard to trust...I now have at least 2 experiences here since the big change and I am so happy that our community decided to keep this hospital in business! I also want to say that I have been told not to come here by multiple people (professionals)...this concerns me. I was told it was due to communication issues. I expressed this to the hospital and they are on top of it. I have not experienced any communication issues to my drs office or anything like that. If they do come up, I will update my review. I hope that you decide for you where you want to be seen and if you happen to get the same gossip as I did...I hope you are not deterred by anyone who may not agree with the way the vote went. Attentive, caring, clean, and did I mention decent cuisine? My loved one was here for a month. The facility was very clean. I had numerous conversations with various staff members. The social workers worked together as a team (Gina, Michael, and Carolina) to find a good location for my loved one. They took their time and didn't rush him off to the first open bed they could find- which I truly appreciated. The staff was very kind to carry the phone to my loved one in his bed so that I could speak with him, as he was unable to pick up the phone on his own. When there was an incident, the nurse (I believe her name was Karen or Kathy) took the time to follow up with me and assured me that they were taking care of things. I didn't actually eat the food there, but I saw how nice it looked on the plate and my loved one seemed to enjoy it as well. urgent information please if you have love ones in this facility remove them immediately ‼ my husband was recently admitted there and during his stay he was neglected of all medical needs shuffled around from one department to the other due to overflow before placing him in a dark room were he was left for several hours with no access to a call button or telephone .. to make matters worse my husband is bed ridden left with only very little strength in his arms that he used to hit the rails on his bed trying to get help several times that had lasted up to 4hrs at a time, while he laid there cover in his own feces .. unable to scream for help because he has a trank in his throat.. the staff not only neglects the patients but doesnt answers the phones and if they do they either hang up or give you the run around if your lucky enough to get an update chances of them telling the truth are slim to nothing, they told me they did a testing on him twice which found out by them admitted their wrong doing that they didnt do it at all, which made it impossible for him to improve , physically therapy never even seen him not even once ,,his meds weren't given..thats just the beginning of what goes on there .... please listen to your love ones they dont allow visits which makes it easy for them to get away with it ! i am taking every step necessary to see to this kind of abuse and neglect comes to a stop and shut that place down ! the information i have is something you would think only happens in a horror movie please dont leave your family members terrified... read more
