they were able to deliver quickly unfortunately they delivered the wrong product. Because I didn't distinguish between Gray and brown the owner made the decision for me and delivered brown. I was told that I always order brown I'm that comment since brown is my least favorite color and my entire property and walkways are black as you can see in the photos. They won't stand behind their product and I'm not going to let it go by without complaining to someone it's really shitty. read more

These guys are the best man, so grateful to have this company. I think they bought out mcdowell, who we also liked, but these guys are incredible. I think the bald guy, sorry don't know his name, but he is super helpful. I have got so much from these guys on so many projects, I said yeah it's time to tell the truth on Yelp for them, great spot. Yard dudes super helpful as well, great at loading my truck and great on delivery when I use their truck to save my back. I have been here a few times to get ideas for stepping stones etc. It can sometimes be challenging to get help with questions because there aren't a lot of people free or not busy taking orders or answering the phone. Just be patient and wait your turn. read more

We started a vegetable garden and needed something for the little plants to grow in. We contacted several companies and nurseries and settled on Sonomamarin Landscape Materials. The veggie mix was our choice and it was the right decision, no question. We laid a tarp in our driveway and the truck just came and dumped our veggie mix on the scheduled delivery day. Our plants have thrived and we've had quite a harvest. The product might not be as cheap as what you can find in a bag at a big box store but it is worth the investment. read more

We have used Sonoma Marin Landscape on and off for years. We stopped a few years ago when a delivery of 3/4 crush gravel for our driveway (which we had gotten multiple times), was delivered and the rocks weren't even walkable due to their huge size. Flash forward to now, we decided to try them again as they are in town. This time we needed some walk-on bark and dirt for our landscaping project. My husband ordered and paid for them in person. The dirt delivery came but they were currently out of the walk on bark and said they would schedule delivery of that once they got it back in stock. No big deal as we know it's a high demand item. After calling several times to check when they expected it after a month they called saying it was back in stock and scheduled delivery. After dumping it in our driveway, it too was nothing like what we had always gotten in the past. Certainly not the smaller walk on style that was in their sample bin and what we had always purchased before. There were some ridiculously long and very large pieces. I called and the gentleman I spoke to was nice enough but he didn't offer any real reason for the change in product. He said he would go look at what they had and agreed it wasn't like the samples inside and would change it in their sample bin. It appears that the quality has gone down with prices going up. read more

We've done two major landscaping projects front and back using many different products from here over the years. Always top shelf quality, both products and employees, tremendous patience even when working with a design consultant picking out stone, rock, pavers, etc. Went there today and purchased a yard of mulch for maintenance around noon. I was finishing up working about 5 and a pickup truck pulls up in front of the house and out jumps a gentleman asking if I was Ken. Somehow I had dropped my credit card after purchasing the mulch and someone was kind enough to turn it into them. They must have found my address by matching name to previous delivered orders. Went in to get some info on pavers for a backyard patio. Came out with all the info I needed for the pavers AND found exactly what we've been looking for for our fireplace surround and hearth. We were shown plenty of options and examples for completing the fireplace. Was also given some referrals for local landscaping companies and websites to further research what we were looking for. Just wanted to make others aware that while Sonoma Marin typically provides good materials at fair prices, their customer service approach recently left a lot to be desired. Businesses need to understand that they have to deal with the entire customer relationship and not just the bit that involves you opening your wallet. A $200 disagreement loses them a customer that spent $4000 in the past 2 years and was set to spend the same again, what a poor decision! read more
