An additional cheese selection and some good bread would have made it feel more balanced. There were some really annoying flies in the tasting room, which were difficult to keep off our board. The wines were good and the education component was excellent. But at $60 to $70 per tasting, plus food charges, the value was not quite there for us. I'd give it 3.5 to 4 stars. A nice place to linger in Sonoma, particularly if you appreciate a tasting room on the town square, thoughtful wine education & strong AC on a hot Sonoma summer day.

I think Im a coffee snob so Im a hard one to please, so the way they brew this tasty treat is to my liking. Ever since, I have been coming back weekly & experiencing a lil bit of everything at this fine deli. The wraps & sandwiches are amazing, the Caprese panini is my weekly favorite which is made on the best olive bread.The salads are fresh & compliment every ingredient theyve considered. Soups are amazing, tasty, and homemade. They have incredible struedels, savory & sweet. The lemon struedel is my soft spot! The staff is always friendly, although when it gets busy there just isnt enought staff for efficiency. I have left without my weekly sammy because there was only 1 person making sandwiches & I am usually on a time limit during lunch (bummer)! I love this place & enjoy my weekly visits!! read more

I came back half an hr later and saw a bunch of different people being served that we're not minorities. I happened to be a minority. All of the fresh, delicious ingredients that Sonoma has to offer ended up bursting out in flavor... melted cheese, chicken and wonderful chips. But the fish was cooked and seasoned perfectly. My dining companions had the Wild Boar over polenta and also muscles, and we started with the peach salad to share. Overall, a beautiful experience. Can't wait to dine here again at the end of this month!

The biggest issue was that a mandatory 20% gratuity was automatically added to our bill. If you're going to require guests to pay a 20% tip regardless of the experience, the service should at least meet that standard. Unfortunately, it didn't. Our server, Chloe, seemed far more occupied with spending time in the kitchen or attending to guests seated outside than checking on our table. We were dining inside, where the restaurant was nearly empty, yet she would disappear for 10-15 minutes at a time, leaving us with no way to ask for refills, order additional drinks, or get simple questions answered. To make matters worse, our wine glasses arrived visibly dirty. We pointed it out, but they were never replaced. That's a basic service expectation at any restaurant, especially one at this price point. She also volunteered recommendations for her "favorite" dishes, despite us never asking for suggestions--and they happened to be among the most expensive items on the menu. It felt more like upselling than genuine hospitality. The kitchen deserves credit because the food was genuinely very good. But great food can't make up for inattentive service, especially when guests have no choice but to pay a mandatory 20% gratuity. If Layla is going to automatically add a 20% tip, then they should ensure the service earns it--not simply collect it regardless of how poor the experience is.
