Don't bring your vehicle here!!! I brought my 2015 F-150 3.5 eco boost with 60k miles in because the turbo coolant exchange hose was leaking at both fittings. IMO This should be covered by warranty as it is a very common problem. So common in fact the $20-30 hose is on back order nationwide. Ryan in service told me it could take a month to receive because of COVID. I understood and asked for a loner vehicle. I was told, if there was one available I would have to wait at least two weeks. I checked my local non-dealer shops and was quoted $450-$600 and the job could be done in 4 days. I let Ryan know I was going to take it somewhere else. He informed me that the diagnostic fee for this and the sync software update they preformed was $125 per hour for two hours. They were going to $250 to do nothing. I had brought both issues to their attention on day one, there was very little diagnostic necessary, definitely not 2 hours! At this time Ryan informed me of the cost for the two issues above and the cost to replace two sun warped plastic pieces between my hood and windshield where the window cleaner fluid sprayers attached plus the diagnostic. The total would be $804 for everything, And the job could be completed after the back ordered hose arrived. Now I was stuck, it was going to cost me more to go to a third party. I could not be without my truck that long, so I searched the web and called the 4 closest Ford dealerships. I found the part in under one hour. I dropped my truck off on Thursday. The fallowing Friday he called and informed me everything was completed and I could pick up my truck. And that they could find nothing wrong with the transmission. As I informed them on day one the transmission issue was most notable with a tranny temp over 200 degrees or under load. He then informed me one of his managers lived some distance away, up the mountain where this issue could be identified. And ask my permission to allow them to take it overnight. I said yes, but informed him I would need my truck Monday. It is now Saturday, and I am waiting for him to call. Up to this point I have been pretty chill, but around 1pm I called to get an update. I was informed by the sales manager the service department was closed on the weekends. He also let me know my truck was in the parking lot, But my keys were nowhere in the building and that he would try to locate them and then give me a call. Wtf?? Why didn't Ryan inform me, and what was this nonsense about taking my truck overnight to diagnose the problem? I waited for the call hoping they had found my keys. As I had no idea where my backup set was. I waited about 30 minutes and then called back. I was informed they could not be found and if I wanted my truck I needed to find my backup set and to bring them down before they close at 6pm. This time I was speaking to younger asshole salesman. He was a Dick! I loaded up my family and drove 40 minutes to the dealership with my backup set of keys. After we arrived My wife headed home immediately as one of the girls was sick. When I walked In, I was Informed by another salesman they hadn't found my keys, or the service invoice and that I would not be allowed to pick up my vehicle for liability reasons. I informed him, I was leaving early Monday and needed my vehicle. I ask him to look again for my keys and to bring me the invoice. He was rude and repeatedly told me he was just the messenger and that he could not find my keys or the service invoice. He insisted without these items and my signature I would be unable to leave with my vehicle. After a few frustrating minutes he allowed me to follow him and look for myself. We both searched only to find nothing. At this point he repeated again, I would not be able to take my truck. I then demanded to speak with his supervisor. Ironically this was the first salesman I had spoken to, who located my truck in the parking lot. He was calm and reassuring. He informed me I could take vehicle. I told him that I would be back on Wednesday for my keys and to pay my bill. Before I left I inspected my truck only to find out they never replaced the warped plastic pieces When I returned on Wednesday I spoke to Ryan and he apologized for the miscommunication, but tried to charge me almost $200 more than he quoted me. I told him what I remember he had said and he adjusted the price. Also I ask him about the plastic pieces, he lied and told me they were also on back order and they were not part of the original price. He than encouraged me to drop my vehicle back off when I had time so they could diagnose the transmission issue. When I returned home I checked my notes only to find out he definitely lied and tried to hustle me. The pieces were included, He perviously told me the final bill was $804 with tax. But that day i paid $824 and he didn't replace the plastic parts he said he would. I will never go back and neither should you! read more

On Dec 10, 2020 I bought a brand new F250 pickup fron Sonora Ford in Sonora, Ca.. I did not make it home to Chico. Ca. as the motor blew up 40 miles from the dealership. CA. They refuse to take the truck back so I had it towed to Elk Grove Ford and left it there. Thecwhole motor has to becreplaced. I spoke to sales Mgr. Greg Z. and General Mgr. Kelly Robinson. HUUUUUGEE waste of time and money! Unfortunately had to tow my truck here since it was nearest location to where I broke down. They tried to convince me it was over $4,000 in repairs to replace a sensor and that nothing was covered by my warranty since there was "too much mud" on the vehicle (it's a 4wd truck). I immediately shipped the truck over to Folsom Lake Ford who quickly diagnosed all of the issues which had NOTHING TO DO with mud on the vehicle, or any expensive sensors that Sonora Ford was claiming. Folsom took care of everything so quickly and confirmed it was ALL covered under my ford warranty. Please take the time to drive to any other ford dealership. It will save you thousands! read more

I want to give NO STARS to this company. I have had my car in the shop for a week now ( after many round about conversations and arguments that at least is covered by warranty) and was only offered a loaner car on the 5th day. I went to pick up the loaner car to be told there was 1/4 tank of fuel. I get in and not only is the gas light on but so is the check engine light. I go back in and tell the people who had me sign the paperwork to be told "it is a service department issue" guess what?! ITS SATURDAY and the service department is CLOSED. I drove home in a shaky car with questionable breaks and low tire pressure, and had to put in gas just to make it from Sonora. I will NEVER recommend this company or its service department, OH and if you are looking to buy a car go to the valley or city where the sales department will help. The sales people just can't be bothered with customers. We walked in and were immediately put off by the lack of acknowledgement and salesmanship. They have the take it or leave it attitude, and seemed more interested in there electrical devices than making a sale. I didn't appreciate the behavior of the primary salesman towards us. There were periods of silence with this person, and quite frankly he should not be selling vehicles. He was uncomfortable to be around making statements " if we are not serious we shouldn't even bother to go forward" with anything. What on earth? Bad, very bad. This is the place to go for lying, dishonest salespeople and managers. They told me they couldn't let me test drive an advertised vehicle until it passed smog, which wasn't scheduled until three days later. They let me look at it, and I decided I wanted to buy it. I agreed to draw up a contract two hours later. When I showed up to purchase it, I was told a different customer had it on a test drive- which they wouldn't allow me do. It started after I purchased the vehicle - it took them 8 months and a couple of phone calls and emails for them to finally get my new plates to me. Now my a/c isn't working. To my shock I found out that their service center isn't open on weekends. That means you have to take time off to get your vehicle fixed if you work Monday to Friday. If you take your car somewhere else you have to pay a deductible. That's ridiculous. If you do decide to take time off you have to pay $175 for a diagnostic test. If the part is covered, you don't have to pay it. Of course my part wasn't covered, I'm out $175, and my a/c still doesn't work. Totally lousy customer service. read more

He was so patient as I continued to inquire about specific cars, changed my mind once or twice (or ten times!) over the past year or so. Joe knew exactly what I was looking for and did a great job keeping me in the loop on inventory. He would check in with me from time to time via text without being annoying. I have been without a mode of transportation for 6 days getting the runaround all the while I am due to have a child any day now and still do not have a straight answer. Regular maintenance servicing for my 2017 Ford Escape went well, if not a little long this time at around two hours. I may have been spoiled by previous visits, which took only 40-45 minutes of my time. They seemed to be backlogged, and being a Friday, it could have been an employee called in sick, or even accommodating "drop-in" vehicle emergencies. The service personnel were apologetic, but I had a book, a mug of tea, and spent my time in the very clean waiting area alternating between turning pages and sipping tea. Before going I received a text that the car was still there. On arrival it had been sold. It they had a similar model (wrong color). During the "work up" I discovered that the price was $2000+ over the quoted price and sales ad price. I was told that it was not them but a Ford process. False ad price. Although Sean was polite the Manager was condescending and ignored my complaint of a false advertisement price. He was not willing to negotiate. This Dealer pulled a real scam on us. They first said that they would buy our 2018 Subaru Forester for a specified amount and send us the balance after vehicle was paid off. Four weeks later now and still have not received a penny from Sonora Subaru. They keep making excuses as in the payoff was sent to the wrong place by there staff and now four weeks later there claiming that the California DMV is the hang up for not paying us now but yet a friend has went by there lot and our vehicle is not on lot so they made there money off of mmoney but still owe us over eleven thousand dollars. We were told by the used car manager once the financial institution revived there money we will overnight you your check. The money was received by the financial institution 6 days ago and now this dealer says no now we need to wait for Ca DMV. All a bunch of BS. Lied too so much by this dealership. Big mistake going to them for anything. UPDATE. The General manager has resolved the issue and we were told our funds will be overnighted to us. If the used car manager would have worked with us it would have given us a different prospective of the dealership. I do appreciate the GM taking the time to get to the bottom this. read more

I brought my 2017 Ford F-250 diesel to Sonora Ford, which is under full bumper to bumper warranty. While traveling with my family out of town recently. I had a DEF fault in my diesel truck, I called first thing Monday morning which was the next day. I talked to Chuck Dodd, Service Director, he told me to bring the truck right in. I brought the truck and then left for a couple of hours and then he got back to me stating it was contaminated DEF problem, and was NOT going to be covered under the warranty (Which is BS I had it tested and no problem with the DEF). They wanted $1,800.00 dollars and had all the parts on hand to fix the problem, this did not seem right to me. I then had the truck towed to Fremont Ford which I paid out of pocket. Also, they charged me at the time for a diagnostic fee of $165.00 dollars. Fremont Ford took care of the full problem along with a rental car, with no questions asked as it was under warranty and their was no contamination like Sonora Ford stated. Sonora Ford was trying to take advantage of me, knowing I was traveling with my family on the road. I called two other Ford dealers, and they were going to honor my warranty with no problems. Check on Sonora Ford's Better Business ratings which is a D and their Yelp reviews on their service dept, they are a bunch of crooks. I then had to fight for my $165.00 diagnostic fee to be refunded and they never offered to cover my tow as well. Which I will still pursue a credit refund. I do not recommend using this dealership, go somewhere else. I will be contacting Ford'a corporate office, and I hope others will too. I still have not received a call back from management yet as they stated they would get back to me. Sonora Ford has a really great sales department. I bought a 2015 Ford Focus a year ago and have had transmission problems ever since. First of all the car was on a recall for transmission and they did not disclose this to me. I tried to have it fixed 2 times with them and now it is not shifting gears like it should again. I tried to find out about a Lemon Law and I was told that the car has a class action suit against Ford for this exact same issue. A piece of advice, before buying any car do a search for recall's.!!! read more

There was a time when I would have given this place for stars. That is pretty good for me, are usually stop there. Today if I could give them less than one star I would do that. I took my car in for service mind you this is the third strike for them. The first strike I took my car in for service the next day I got it back I broke down they said it was something completely unrelated, And charged me over $500 to fix the problem. OK I get it that happens. The second time they serviced my vehicle the next day it broke down, I had to be towed. I took it back for service at which point it cost me over $1000 and again the problem they said was unrelated. This week on Wednesday I took my car in for service, On Thursday driving Home from work my air conditioning was no longer working and it was the day before it went to service. I called the service department and was rather upset they said bring your car back over and we'll see what the problem is. Took the car back over on Friday left it all day as it is not a convenience for me I don't work near the area, get the car back paid a hefty bill for some unrelated things that they did that they said it needed. Today on my way home from work my air-conditioning doesn't work! I called their Business number, I asked the person who answered the phone to transfer me to a service person a manager or to a voicemail as I did not want to be rude to him and I was very upset. He said to call back on Monday because he couldn't transfer me. Hello I'm already mad, I can't call back on Monday I work every day six days a week the only day I have off is Sunday and you don't have anyone there that can help me this place has the worst service department ever. I took my car into the Ford dealership today to have a recall fixed. It was for the airbags. I called and made an appt. All I needed was the recall fixed. I even remember speaking to a lady whom I will not say her name because as far as I know, she had nothing to do with this "extra" charge. I NEVER go to Ford because when I was looking to purchase a car almost 10 years ago, they said they couldn't help me. Anyway....I previously took my car into a Automotion (supporting a local shop) and had some minor repairs fixed as well as an oil change since my car was already there. So, I go to pick up my car from Ford today (after it was there ALLLLL day) and they tried charging me $60 for "The works" which I found out was an oil change and tire rotation package that I did NOT order. I literally just had my oil changed at Automotion last week and had my tires rotated by Wright's Tire not too long ago. Supposedly Ford actually did "The works" that I NEVER ordered. So, I did NOT pay for it. QUESTION?????....Is this something FORD does to get money? Try tricking their customers into paying for something they did not order?? Well they got screwed cause I didn't pay for it. So my car has had 2 oil changes in the last week. On top of that I had a flat tire last night and since I was at Ford this morning, I had asked if they could look at it to see if it could be patched. They "he" said it couldn't be patched after I waited over an hour to even hear if it could be patched or not. Not once did they offer to order me a new tire or be somewhat helpful. I guess since they didn't get their "works" money, I'm not a good customer anymore. Not that I was going to buy a tire from them anyway. Then they couldn't find my key. The cashier and the service dept looked all over and finally found it in "a pocket". Sooooo Irritated!!! I left Ford and drove right over to my trusty local tire shop, Wright's Tires and got myself a used but great tire that matches exactly the ones I have and they changed it literally in less than 20 min and I was good to go. $20 bucks later and a tip for the guys and great service!!!! Am in town on vacation and realized I needed an oil change. Called and was told that 3 days later was the earliest.....but agreed anyway. Took it in and they said around 1/2 hour. But I heard the person next to me telling them that she didn't have an appointment, but they sold her the car and something wasn't working correctly, or whatever. There was a discussion and she went and sat down in the waiting room. Well, guess what? 2 hours later my truck was oil changed. I assume that they decided to service her car first. Several others were in the waiting room for hours and complaining also. Not just me. Anyway, they were nice and friendly.....but telling me 1/2 hour and then getting it back after an oil change 2 hours later is bogus. read more

We have taken our vehicle here several times for the same thing. They had our car for over 3 weeks the last time. The workers obviously do not want to do their job as I was told we did not have a warranty or rental car offered to us. After several calls we did have both. When I went to pickup my rental I was given a older car (which is no big deal) that the carpet was ripping out of it, the stereo wheel was nasty, the front end sounded and felt like it was going to fall apart) and it shook at 55mph. Yesterday was our second and last visit to Sonora Ford. We scheduled an appointment for an oil change. After waiting 2 hours, they still were not finished. I inquired as to the wait, and was told they had no idea why it was taking so long. Last time I was there for an oil change they flagged the rear brakes due to the pads being worn. I have not changed the pads yet. But they went ahead and checked off GREEN on all the brakes and pads this time. I can confirm the pads are worn. This tells me an inspection was not completed on our truck. So that makes me think what else did they NOT CHECK? We chose to take our truck to a Ford dealer for service thinking that we would get a higher level of service since they specialize in their product. It is not true with Sonora Ford. Additionally, my son was there looking for a new car to buy/lease for college. At the young age of 18 he can clearly see why Sonora Ford will not get our business/money.
