The office area is clean and they have a nice little room with popcorn, water, coffee/tea and a TV which was convenient. The staff was honest and friendly from the people in the financing department to the person who sold us our vehicle. We dealt with Gary for our purchase and he was absolutely AMAZING. He spoke to us with respect, and honesty (which many dealers don't), and went above and beyond for our entire family. He was kind and went out of his way to make sure that even my younger son was happy and had a good experience, which he definitely didn't have to do. I cannot say enough nice things about this place, and this staff. On top of that their prices on vehicles are awesome. We had our car checked by our own mechanic and everything was as promised. I went on Ford.com and "built a truck". I was contacted by a salesman (Tim Neely). I asked him to work up a price based on my information that I provided and giving him the VIN number for my car asking him to give me an approximate trade in value. He took the information and said he would get back with me. I never heard from him again. I built the truck again some weeks later and Tim contacted me by email. I reminded him of what he had done and and for that reason I would be working with somebody else. A few days later he sent me a half baked apology (I have it in an email) so I decided to work with him again. I made arrangements to meet with him at the dealership. (Sonora Ford, Sonora CA) When we met on 9/20/18 we we went through the same drill on ordering the F 150 truck. I asked for a valuation of my possible trade. He asked me a few questions about equipment on the car and he looked up the Kelly Blue Book based on that info which was incomplete. I asked that he print out the Carfax valuation on the car using the VIN number so the complete package of added equipment would be taken into consideration. He went the sales manager and they printed out a Carfax report that did not include a valuation price. I asked him to print out the price. He went to the sales manager asked and came back saying that Carfax does not do that. (I later did it.) At that point I said that I was annoyed at which point Tim said he was annoyed also. I picked up my papers and left. I wasted an entire morning. (3 full hours) The thing that took the most time was for many of my questions Tim went to talk to other people in the showroom to get the answers and some were lengthy discussions. Just purchased a used 2014 Ford Lariat pickup. This is my second vehicle purchase from this dealership. My primary salesperson, Tim Neeley and I had spoken on several occasions prior to this purchase. Even though I don't live in Sonora, Tim is the main reason I returned. He's a polite, personable guy who doesn't create any pressure and is easy to deal with. His primary goal is to see to it the customer is happy with their purchase. He set up my phone, combination door locks and explained the various features of the truck. Bottom line......great guy. I should mention it was Tim's day off when I went into the dealership. I was assisted by Jim Auld, another great salesperson. He assisted me with the information I needed regarding the truck and advised me Tim would be in the following day. End result.....I returned and purchased the truck the following day. Only one drawback. The detail job on the truck was not up to Sonora Fords standards. In fact, it was pretty bad. Swerl marks in the paint. Wax residue in numerous places, etc. However, still a good overall experience. I would certainly recommend this dealership. read more

This is for the service department. Made an early AM appointment for my truck for them to run a diagnostic and get the check engine light checked out. They told me they would call after 12. Never heard from them. Called them around 330 the same day and they told me they didn't know yet that they were waiting and would give me a call later in the day before closing. Talked to the guy around closing time and I was told they wouldn't know till morning the next day. Calls the next day and was told they still needed to do some testing. Come to find out my truck sat in their lot ALL day the day I made my appointment for, they never touched it. And STILL Telling me the next day that they still need to run some test on it. Why make an appointment when they don't even touch my truck till over 24 hours later? read more

She came back with a smile so I knew we were gonna see if we could work out a deal. Deal was ez. They gave us more that we asked for on our trade in. Knocked a little more of the SUV. Me and my husband had the worst experience trying to work with this company! My husband was working down in the bay area and took our car in for recalls down there since the location was more convenient for his work situation. We have been having a lot of trouble with the car since then (the headlights won't turn on, none of the dash lights are working, the motor is running badly, it sounds like it's trying to throw up a hairball) and now that he's back in town he took it Sonora Ford to try and get it fixed. When he called to make an appointment and explain the situation, the tech who answered the phone told him "It's not their problem", even though you can take your car to any Ford location to deal with recalls. He did schedule an appointment to come in and once he got there they gave him the run around. He ended up getting on a three way call with corporate and the GM of Sonora Ford, and even with corporate on the phone Sonora Ford was rude, unprofessional and not willing to help us; eventually they said that he were wasting their time and hung up on him. Ford Corporate was great and apologetic. They were very surprised that their offices were treating customers so badly. As of now there is still no resolution to our problem, but we are working with corporate to try and come to a satisfactory resolution. We will be buying from Dodge from now on. read more

I had a very poor experience with Sonora Ford. I had spoke with Jacob the sales rep and had been offered a price I was happy with for my truck so I drove an hour an fifteen minutes, along with a friend so I had a ride home, to sell my truck. Once I got there, he passed me to another rep to tell me they can not give me that much. He then told the other rep he had not told me the previous price and left me with a waste of time traveling up there. Also very poor communication as we sat there in silence as the new rep was on their phone and then asked me for my keys. He then walked away and got in my truck and drove off as I expected, but was not told what they were going to do. I would've been satisfied if I were told the truth and updated on the process we were going through. Had a bad experience and will not do business with them again. read more

I bought a Fusion a few months ago and couldn't be happier. The salesman, Bill, was friendly and upfront with us on every single option we had when it came to financing. The finance guy was super helpful and straight forward. Even the guys who weren't involved in our sale pitched in to get the transaction complete. But the topper was when my car had a rare problem, they were able to track it down with no problems. Because the car was a new purchase, they fixed the issue, that was not covered by my warranty, and didn't charge me a dime! They did it on "good faith". The issue was something that ford knew was happening on these cars but not considered a recall (not sure why. ...) Either way, they did a great job. I've trusted my vehicles to them for over 4 years and would recommend them over any other shop or dealer in town. read more

It's been a while since I took my ford here for service work. Had electrical issues going in, but coming out no electrical issues. All they did was a test to find the issue. My issue is that I don't know what they did during the test. What they did in the test fixed the problem. Yeah. I want to know what went on, so that next time I will know what the problem is. I've requested the reports and have not received anything back. The service was only ok. I think it took longer then needed. When we inquired about the truck it took forever to get to Roy. It took forever to find out when to pick the truck up. read more

I have tried booking my service appointments a variety of ways to expediate the process, but every time I am waiting any where from 1-3 hours longer than I am told to expect. I have been to other dealerships for service and have received much quicker and professional service. About 1 hour for a service, and I was greeted at my car and helped right away. Called about a vehicle they had for sale and spoke with a very cocky salesman. I was inquiring about a vehicle that has been on their lot for over 4 months. The salesman told me they don't sell many of that model in their area, and as such they had discounted it "slowly" over the previous few months due to lack of interest. When I inquired as to what their "eprice" is he got very defensive and proceeded to explain why the price was the price, it's already this much lower than Kelley Blue Book, their profit margin is so thin, blah blah blah, and if they discount the car anymore they will not make any money on the sale. I explained we were considering coming from 90 miles away and we did not want to waste our time if they couldn't match some comps for sale at this time. He explained that we wouldn't be able to make a deal on the car and it probably isn't the one for us. When I asked, "well how do you know that? We have been talking for 3 minutes and you've decided what is and is not right for us?" I thank him for his assessment and he hangs up before I finish. Fast forward 10 minutes and I get a call from the sales manager who's voicemail sounds promising. I return the call and explain that I had already spoken with a sales associate who seemed to think the price was the price and if we wanted to save some money we shouldn't buy this car. He goes on to say that "the reason people travel so far to buy cars from us is because our prices are so good." The reason your prices are what they are is your geographical location. Of course you can't charge what dealers in the valley or the bay area charge. Sonora is not the same economically speaking as the bay area. He went on to say that he might be able to save us $500.00 but that would be it due to profit margins and " I'm not sure what we paid for the car but if we discount it anymore we'd be taking a loss. The car business isn't what it used to be. Our prices are our prices." I have worked in the automotive industry for 15 years and I know a used car dealer did not pay $27,000, or even $23,000 for the car they are selling for $27,000. The car has been on the lot for months and if you want to sell it, play ball. They are more concerned with protecting their hypothetical bottom line than with gaining a customer. Very poor salesmanship. We recently purchased a vehicle at Maita Chevrolet in Elk Grove and it was nothing like this from phone call to signing the papers. I would beware of these guys. If you are not willing to pay the price as advertised, don't waste your time. They decided what we should pay without looking at my credit, assessing the value of my trade-in, or how much we were willing to put down on the purchase. After reading similar reviews I know it was not a fluke. They are out to make money and are not even shy about telling you that. We will take our business elsewhere. read more

My husband had a horrible experience at Sonora Ford on Friday. Reading through the reviews of the service department, this doesn't seem to be an isolated incident. Here is our story....my husband had an appointment Friday, Nov. 15 to have an oil leak fixed. A part had to be ordered so an appointment was made for Nov. 22 for the actual repair. He showed up at 9am for his 9:30am appointment. Waited 15 minutes for his "service consultant" Matt to come talk to him. Someone else ended up helping him. The repair was supposed to take 2 hours so my husband just waited there since we live 30 minutes away. Several times over the next few hours...yes, few...Matt walked by and gave my husband no update. At 2pm my husband finally asked when the truck would be done since he needed to leave soon to get our daughter from school. Everyone started scrambling and it quickly became apparent that they had completely forgotten him. They told him they were taking the truck back right then. He refused to let them start the work because that would make him late to get our daughter. After wasting 5 hours of his time ON HIS BIRTHDAY the truck is still not fixed. He is going back this coming Friday, Nov. 29 to finally get it fixed. I will update this review with the results of that experienced. Chuck, the service manager promised a deal on the repair for the issue he had. It better be one heck of a deal. My husband is in law enforcement and his days off are valuable to us because we don't see him much during the week. Hope Ford has a way to make this right for him. read more

So I went into Sonora Ford last week, and put my name on a Flex that wasn't out yet as it just came in. I was the first person to do so. I had kept in touch with the salesman and planned on driving it today. I had my heart set on the car as I'd wanted one for ages, and as a Christmas gift to myself, was excited! So today the guy calls me, and asks if I'm still interested, and I am then he calls me back to tell me the general manager sold it yesterday. I suspect to himself, although I'm not sure. What a huge disservice, and what is the poor salesman to say? He was screwed out of his sale by his boss. I was screwed out of my car I wanted. Unbelievable! I am a VERY UPSET CUSTOMER. 1 star is too much. On 11/25/2018 I came in with the intention of purchasing a Ford F-150 if the price was right. The Salesman Matt brought the price of the truck down from $32,950 down to $32,500 but that wasn't enough to entice me to purchase that day as I told him I was going to look at two other F-150's that i could get for $32,000 that were certified which means a 12,000 comprehensive warranty and a 100,000 power train warranty. Matt brought out the finance mgr Ashur Youkhana and said he would do that one better. He would sell me the truck for $32,000 and INCLUDE a comprehensive warranty for $32,000. We shook hands and I trusted him at his word. The next part is my bad, as I didn't read all the numbers before I signed the contract. I trusted Mr. Ashur. In fact he pleaded with me for an additional $500 which I gave in to him, and then ended inserting in the contract $3,495 for the for a comprehensive warranty. He folded the contract into thIrds, slipped the paper into the folder, unsigned, and said this is your warranty. My bad for not taking it back out and reading that it cost $3,495. I would not have bought the truck otherwise when I could have driven to Fairfield and gotten the same truck 1 year newer and 8,000 less mileage with a certified warranty. I will never recommend this dealership to anyone and advise anyone shopping at Sonora Ford to carefully read everything in detail that Ashur Youkhana writes and don't believe anything he says unless you see it in writing. Don't take your car here. So far i have taken one of my Ford cars (fusion and fiesta) in for warranty repairs and they always "find" another issue which causes the no cost repairs to cost me 200-300 dollars. Go to Haidlen in Oakdale if you need repairs. read more

I took my vehicle to ford to be serviced, and it came back in worse condition than when it was brought in. They charged WAY too much for basic service then left bolts off and didn't tighten some at all. They even lost the cover of the computer port inside the vehicle. My vehicle hasn't run worth a darn since it was supposedly "Fixed" at Ford. read more

We have purchased 2 new cars and 1 used, 2015, van in July 2018. When we purchased the van we were assured the company put it through a rigorous system check to assure quality and safety. Despite the fact it had 12000 miles and 2 new front tires, which we discussed, they again assured us there was nothing wrong with the vehicle. Again telling us, they run a "thorough" systems check before selling any used vehicles. THIS IS UNTRUE! DO NOT BUY A USED CAR FROM THIS DEALERSHIP. Within a month the van shook violently when braking down hills, a month, we brought it in and despite purchasing an extended warranty and having the vehicle under the manufacturer's warranty they told us it was not covered. Also their test was less comprehensive then they lead you to believe at the time of purchase. In fact the service department gives another description of what is done. They wanted to charge us over $500.00 for rotors for the van we bought only 3.5 months earlier. Oh yeah, and 2 months ago, one month after purchasing the vehicle, the battery dies. Again this was tested and not covered. If looking to buy a car don't stop here, if you do you're likely to be stuck with a lemon and poor customer service and warranty service!!!!! read more

I really felt that everyone that worked with me in sales and service went above and beyond to make my experience there pretty exceptional. My wife and I shopped online all over the Central Valley for a Ford Edge. The sales manager Jeff Bigalow and the sales associate Clayton Baker went above and beyond to work with us. They gave us what we wanted for our trade and worked a great deal of a Ford Edge Sport. The car is awesome. Warning: After having to drive 5 hours round trip (because General Manager Kelly Robinson refused to take calls, respond to email, or phone messages), he informed me that his dealership had processed a good deal and had a right to the vehicle sitting on their lot (even though they had taken a car in on trade two weeks earlier with no title or proof of request for duplicate title from DMV)... Worse yet, when DMV first advised me that a release of liability had been issued to Sonora Ford but no other paper work processed through DMV, the Finance Manager, Steve, told me over the phone that the car was indeed on their lot and that I HAD TO bring them in the title. Of course, I told him that I didn't think so and asked why they didn't at least ask that a duplicate title be signed... How Sonora Ford thinks that they are going to be able to legally resell the car is beyond me. All the further information they could provide was that they were not releasing the vehicle and preferred it be resolved as a civil matter. What a headache. The courtesy of a return call is the least level of customer service they could have provided, but NO, a return call has never showed up in my phone logs :-( :-( :-( WOW, now instead of trying to straighten any misunderstanding he may have with DMV in processing his sales, I just got an email from the General Manager, again, demanding I give him the title or he was going to sue me for the title WOW :-( :-( :-( read more

Bought a 2014 Ford Focus today. I hate car shopping because I have had some bad experiences, but this was pretty easy. Very little waiting, great service. I ended up with a certified vehicle and a 7 year bumper to bumper warranty-both at a discounted price. I think that I ended up with a very good deal. I also discoveredt that they only charge 39.99 for the required oil changes (and 21 point check). I'm happy. Everyone was polite, friendly, helpful and cooperative!. read more

The experience was great from start to finish. They gave me a very fair price on my trade-in and made the car buying experience stress free. I wasn't going to do this but i have to. I've been a customer with this place for Years 35 yrs!! But what happened there recently I have to post this. My wife and I bought a 2011 Mustang (not from them) we need another key made for it , so I made an appointment to get a key cut and programmed . My wife takes it in and they did UNAUTHORIZED work to her Car. They put it up on there hoist and pulled off the Wheels and did a Brake Check !! Now this OK right NOT it was done without her Knowledge she didn't sign anything to Authorize this. Well a day later when see was washing it found a Loose lug nut!! Well not just one 18 out of the 20 were Loose!!! Now if they were so concerned about the Brakes and doing things that weren't suppose to do WHY LOOSE LUG NUTS !! After 2 meetings with the Service Dept and the GM Kelly they are doing anything !! They Deny it all . Remember folks that a Repair Shop can NOT perform ANY work to your Car without written permission from the owner. A signature must be on the paper work before they do anything !! Remember if they were to do ONLY the Key Cut and program this would be a problem, Thankfully my wife was washing the Car a day later and found this or there could have been a lose of life or lives with Wheels falling off. read more

I had purchased a new Ford Fusion at this dealership and before it had 300 miles on it I noticed a rattling noise coming from somewhere in the front left side of the car while driving at 55 miles per hour. Upon opening the hood to see if I could find anything loose I noticed that there was almost no fluid in the brake reservoir, as well as no fluid in the windshield wiper reaervoir. I brought the car in to check out the noise and check for leaks. The car was at the dealership for a week and I was told that they couldn't hear any noise while driving it and the fluid levels seemed fine. When I questioned the service manager about the wiper reservoir issue he spoke to me as though I was stupid and said that, well, if I use the sprayer, the fluid level would, of course, drop. I told him I had never tried to use the sprayer (which wouldn't have worked anyway a, since there wasn't any fluid in the reservoir!) . I phoned the dealership manager to complain about being treated rudely, but, naturally, he defended him. I then inquired about the severely low brake fluid level and why that would happen and he told me that since no one saw that besides me, it never happened...so the insinuation was that I just made up the story (which would effectively make me a liar). There were many more details I have left out so as not to make the story any longer. Suffice it to say, the treatment I received at this dealership was atrocious and unacceptable. Here's the good news ending to the story...I brought the car into Folsom Lake Ford to investigate the rattle and...low and behold...the service technician heard the noise right away and fixed the problem...a loose heat shield. Problem solved, but still no explanation for the fluid leak issues. Moral of the story...I will never recommend Sonora Ford to anyone for anything! read more
