A friend of ours accidentally tapped the arm on their gate and they charged them $600. A lady pulled up while there and told us she paid $600 a couple weeks ago when her son tapped it and they never bought a new one. Another fine example of taking money and doing nothing with it. Extortion at its finest.

The resort amenities are great. Check in was pleasant and the staff were friendly and professional. They are taking all the necessary precautions during this time of COVID. We felt safe and enjoyed or time OUTSIDE of our room. I'm unsure how this resort operates, if these units are privately owned... but I will never take a chance and pay for accommodation this poor again. Maybe $400 for 2 nights in a deal in this area but certainly not worth the room in this case. The unit was poorly kept. Curtains ripped, shower curtains falling apart, dingy, old and dirty bed linens, AC definitely not operational. It was hotter inside than it was outside. So disappointed with the experience of the unit. See pictures to decide for yourself what you would pay for a room like this.... I wish I could rate the unit separately from the resort.

First time staying at the Sonoran sea and so far so good. The waiters and bartenders have been fun and outgoing. Everyone has also been kind enough to recommend places to eat that they personally like. The room was very spacious with 3 king beds and a very large living room. I've stayed in 3 different resorts here and so far this has been the best room overall.

Stayed for a few days, sunday-wednesday & was fairly calm. Never been on this side of town, & we overall enjoyed the stay. Only small issues would be that its approx 15min from downtown (malecon), the wetbar drinks were kind of waterdowned, & the restaurant seafood wasnt very tasty. Will come back again at somepoint

Took my wife on our second Honeymoon and I have to say I was very impressed. The rooms were very comfortable, the resort was very accommodating and the beach was just perfect. Ate at the attached resturant a few times and was blown away with how good it was. All in all it was a great experience. My only complaint would be that they advertise free wi-fi but that's really misleading. There is wi-fi scattered throughout the resort but it was incredibly difficult to connect too and was basically non-functional. Think AOL dialup speeds, so if you could connect it would take 3 minutes to check your emails.

Can't beat this place. Beautiful sea and awesome swim up bar. Condos are great. So much funnnnnnn.

Oh. My. Goodness! This place far exceeded my expectations! My husband booked on short notice and we were fortunate enough to get the last room available for the weekend. The room was a beautifully decorated one bedroom apartment with a full kitchen and a comfortable living room with TV. There was even a washer and a dryer in the unit. The view was gorgeous! Beachfront... look out the picture window and see the white sand beach and the blue blue sea. We ate at the restaurant off of the lobby and ordered room service. The food was soooo yummy and the prices are incredible. They have several pools. One has a swim up bar (happy hour anyone?), one had a shallow area for little ones and a slide for the kiddos, the other pool was overlooking the two other pools and had a gorgeous view of the ocean. We never left the resort because everything we needed was right there. My only gripe was the lack if WiFi. They advertise free WiFi in all their rooms. We were only able to get online when we were out on the room's patio, and even then we were often unable to connect. The lobby wasn't much better. Thankfully we weren't bothered by this fact too much because most of our time was on the beach or by the pool. I'd definitely stay here again!

The view was amazing, the 3 bedroom condo we stayed in was one of the nicest rooms we have had in this resort. We had daily cleaning service, fully stocked modern kitchen and our master bedroom was very spacious with a jet bathtub, walk in shower for 2, and a nice size closet. Our daughters had a nice bedroom with private bathroom, they had 2 queen size beds in there bedroom. Only issue was the master bedroom was warm and could not get the room to cool down. Wifi is sketch but just got to reconnect every few hours.

ROCKY POINT TRAVEL WARNING: Avoid Condo Topaz B907 at Las Palomas Phase 1…read more Hey everyone, I wanted to share a major warning so no one else has their vacation ruined. We recently booked Condo Topaz B907 at Las Palomas Phase 1, and it was completely uninhabitable due to a horrific, overpowering odor inside the room. Even the resort housekeeper openly admitted to us that the room has a chronic, terrible smell and that the administration is fully aware of the issue. Yet, instead of fixing the problem or pulling the room from the rental pool, management continues to book it and charge premium rates to unsuspecting guests. We had to get Expedia involved to rescue us and move us to another resort (Esmeralda) because Las Palomas refused to properly handle it. To make matters worse, Las Palomas management refused to refund our $212.00 resort fee, which we paid in cash. They fraudulently claimed that WE were the ones canceling the stay, completely ignoring the fact that we were forced to flee a defective room. They stole our cash fee for amenities we never used. Save yourself the headache, smell, and stress. Avoid this dishonest resort and specifically refuse unit Topaz B907! If you must stay at Las Palomas DEMAND a different unit if they try to assign you to Topaz B907!!

The first time I ever stayed here was back in 2009 and I've been staying here ever since! To start off every condominium I've had the pleasure of staying has been a 3 bedroom, which includes two bedrooms on a lower level floor and the master bedroom on the second level. It's such a convenient condominium for a large family which needless to say, usually around 8-10 family members join us on our trips to peñasco, so it's always great! Although most people don't go on vacations to cook, my family and I get good use out of the kitchen that every condominium is provided with, we make everything from breakfast to dinner! Good way to save money if you don't mind all the cooking :) I love the fact that there are not only 1, or 2 but 3 POOLS in this resort!! Most hotels only have a semi good size pool and one or two jacuzzi's but the fact that this resort has 3 pools is amazing!! And on the occasions that I've been there most pools don't get packed at all, since there are so many to choose from, guests go to all 3 instead of staying all in the same pool!! No need to worry about accidentally kicking someone if you're trying to swim lol Lastly, the staff is very under appreciated! They give the best customer service and are always super kind and helpful! A few weeks ago my dad and I made our reservations for the summer and a worker by the name of Fernando was able to assist us through everything smoothly! (FYI: if you book online you only have to pay half of what the room will cost for your entire trip! And once you get to the resort on the day of your arrival date you pay the rest! It's great because you don't need to worry about having to pay it all in full!) Anyways, Fernando was able to assist us very well and provided us with the room we stayed in last time we were here back in 2015! If you ever read this Fernando, thank you for your help!!! We greatly appreciate it! I will always enjoy my stay in Princesa de Peñasco! my family and I already booked our trip for next month in July and we cannot wait to be there already, soaking up the sun and swim in the pool and enjoy everything that this resort has to offer! See you soon, Princesa de Peñasco!

Room was large and very clean; bed must have been a California king (since it was bigger than my king-sized bed). Kitchen area had a decent sized mini-fridge with an actual freezer, and a microwave. Interior walls are concrete/stucco, so I would imagine rooms are quiet even during the busy season. Our balcony was really only deep enough for standing room, not sure this is true for all rooms, but that was the only down-side. View was spectacular. All the staff was extremely friendly, and the bell person was especially informative. The included breakfast offered fairly minimal but well rounded selections; portions were ample--and delicious! They also offer an additional (paid) breakfast menu. Another on-site restaurant off of the casino area (La Arena 3C) was suuuuper good with amazing specials and happy hour pricing. On Taco Tuesday: three shrimp tacos and a chicken taco; three mini-quesadillas; a large bottle of jamaica aqua fresca; a beer; and a dessert special with two carajillos (coffee cocktails) and a small cake all came to $26.04. Ridiculous. We obviously ate there twice. There's a cute little "beach" area on the property just past the pool that overlooks the sea and has tables with umbrellas and lounge chairs, or daybeds. All with food/drink service. Perfect lounging (napping?) area. Since we were only visiting for two days we never left the resort property, and were perfectly happy with what was available to us. There is a drug store just across the street for water and other needs, but we brought all our own. Can't wait to come back and stay here again and explore the town!

Customer service was horrible. We paid almost 4K for 2 deluxe rooms and 2 master suite. They refuse to give me all 4 rooms and only gave me 3. Refuse to refund me . We requested lower levels or at least all In the same floor as we were traveling as a family ,we got them 1 in the 5th floor 3rd floor and second floor. At check out said they never took a deposit and they had taken $480 but couldn't find it . Literally every part of the stay was terrible . They said they didn't have valet parking but the guy outside said if we pay tune $500 pesos that he can tell receptionist to give it to us and then paid $30 each car for valet . I been staying at this hotel plenty of times in the past . Absolutely will never stay here again. We chose this resort specifically for the heated bar pool, which is the only comfortable swimming option year-round. However, after this experience, we will not be returning here. We traveled here with our 2 year old son and are currently expecting another baby. The heated pool is a necessity for us, as young children cannot safely regulate their body temperature in the other "upper" pools, which are unheated, frigidly cold and not surprisingly almost always empty. In all our years coming here, children and adults have coexisted in the heated lower pool without issue. There was never a "nuisance" problem. This year, as my toddler was about to get in, we were stopped by security and told he wasn't allowed. The only sign posted states that children under 3 must wear a swim diaper. Our son was wearing one. When my husband addressed this with management, he was told it is a "new rule" that children are banned from the only heated pool on the property. Telling a family with a toddler (and soon an infant) to use the unheated pools is dismissive and medically soundless. Next year, when we have a 6 month old, we won't be able to use any pool on the property because the resort refuses to heat the family-accessible areas. This arbitrary rule has effectively ruined our vacation. If you are traveling with small children who need a comfortable water temperature, do not stay here. Sonoran Sky has made it clear that they no longer value families here. We will be taking our business elsewhere in the future.

Adult only,"priority guest" pool was a pleasant reprieve with seemingly cleaner water. I've had the good fortune to travel often and to many destinations around the world. So, I didn't expect the Ritz or the Westin, but did anticipate a fairly decent experience at a Hilton resort. The wedding itself was lovely and located on a platform at a quiet corner of the resort over the sea All-inclusive resorts can be fantastic, but this one is so "long in the tooth" , it must have a 100% renovation to be serviceable. Our stay at the Best Western Laos Mar Hotel & Suites allowed us to make the most of our stay's enjoyment. Just 10 minutes from Old Town Puerto Peñasco, the location is super convenient, very accommodating with more than enough relaxing activities for a wonderful time of leisure. With our opportunities to recurrently stay at many accommodations across and occasionally outside the country, and not a professional hotel reviewer, and not a regular business traveler - just a pleasure and needs traveler, I have established what I think is a concise technique for scoring the worthiness of each inn visited. My criteria are as follows and the results are: 1) ease of access to and from public or private ground transportation [Score: 4.0]; 2) convenient and safe parking [Score : 4.0]; 3) access, accuracy and convenience of check in and check out [Score: 3.8]; 4) atmosphere, ambience, public facilities, lounging areas and access to an office center and Wi-Fi access [Score: 4.0]; 5) overall customer service - including but not limited to Hospitality, Support Services, Concierge knowledge, communication, attitude and demeanor of staff [Score: 4.2]; 6) quality, cleanliness, value, convenience, amenities (i.e., ironing board, iron, TV, charging access, phone, et.al.) and comfort of rooms, beds, room safe and/or valet services [Score: 3.5]; Taking all the aforementioned categories in a scale of 1 star to 5 stars with 1 being the worst and 5 being the best a hotel can be! This hotel rates a: 4.6. Most positive points at this hotel are: not only a great pool and lounging area, picnic spots, plenty of umbrellas but they are literally beach front, albeit a slight walk, there is a magnificent waterfront white sand beach to quietly enjoy. Most negative points found here are: is a slight feel of isolation because of its location yet creating a very quiet environment. My price to value to overall assessment: excellent.
