Don't let the water slides and pirate ship fool you this is not a family friendly resort. This resort is for the party crowd. We spent 3 days here at the end of May and found out the hard way. People were drinking and dropping f bombs at the kids pool and there was explicit music being played and f bombs being thrown thought the stand alone condos. To top it off the service is not very welcoming. The reason for the 3 stars is the resort is clean and the location is amazing and is a great spot for a certain demographic but not family friendly. If you are looking for a place to take your family you will need to look elsewhere. read more

This was such a cute little resort, especially for the price. We stayed in G-702 our favorite thing about this unit was that the A/C worked very well. The room and balcony were spacious. The King bed was comfortable. We spent most of our stay on the beach or at the swim-up bar at the resort. Happy hour specials were amazing 2 for $5 blended drinks. There are two bars within walking distance outside of the resort that we would highly recommend: Changos & Banditos. Make sure you bring cash, ATMs were not easy to find. read more

We stayed in Villa 15 for the Huge Motorcycle Rally in November. The Villa and View were great, awesome drink specials. The coffee shop was the best. Very friendly staff. My only complaint would be that the swim up bar was not heated. Many would say, well it was November. But it was also during a huge Rocky Point Rally for motorcycle and people who come by the 1000s. Hot tubs were only like warm. Otherwise I will stay again . read more

Stayed here a couple of times and every time i stay here there are more weird rules. One being children are not allowed (+18 only pool) in the main pool. You pay double the price for a condo in order to have the pool right in front to come and find out they do not allow children in the pool. Waste of money. My family and I stayed in Las Palmas unit 705D for one week July 2021. The unit was clean however it is very out dated. The essentials in the kitchen were provided, however there could have been minor additions to make it more effective. The pots and pans were half broken. There was nothing to clean off the counters with and we were only provided two kitchen hand towels. The refrigerator did not have an ice machine, therefor adding a few ice trays would have been a nice addition. The televisions in each room worked, but only for local television which is in all Spanish. Frustrating restrictions in the unit in regards to the lowest possible temperature of AC. The overall grounds of Las Palmas were clean but very minimal. Almost all of the pool umbrellas were broken. Minimal lounge chairs at the pool. The swim up bar constantly had meat (for tacos etc) just laying out on counter. Most of the bartenders were friendly, but always on phone and therefor we had to wave/signal to get attention to place drink order. While I would rate this stay average as a whole my family and I will not stay here again. Many of the other resorts on Sandy Beach have much higher standards and facilities for the same price. read more

My whole family went (30 people, a total of 7 condos) to enjoy a very fun weekend but were accosted by workers and security guards a lady in particular named Cielo. They harassed us to every location we went whether it be the big pool, the kid pool (we had little cousins with us), the bar, and even to the beach... they even argued with us and fought us claiming they didn't care that we or our family went and that our business wasn't needed, to the point that they said that since we didn't buy them anything our business wasn't important especially and specifically to them. We felt unsafe and felt watched as well as very disrespected by the way these workers and their security companions were treating us. Felt as it was a personal vendetta towards us and very unfortunate. Seems they got what they asked for because we will never be back and our recommendations will cease to everyone we know. read more

Very nice resort for the price. We rented BN-503A, very cozy and fresh on a very hot summer. Less than 15 minutes away from all local attractions. We got Massages on the beach and did the banana boat rides both Very inexpensive. Drinks are 2X1 from 12-6pm at the pool bars. You can bring your own inflatables, boogie boards, shades, chairs, alcohol and food. There are restaurants, coffee and juice bar on site. read more

We just got back from Rocky point and our vacation was great!!! Our family has been staying here for a few years now and it is always a good time at Las Palmas. Awesome views, condos right by the beach, awesome pools and a bar and taco joint within. The service has always been top notch however, they have recently obtained a new management company which may explain the slight decline in service (in my opinion). Don't get me wrong, the stay here was still great... just not outstanding like on other occasions. We had a few issues with our penthouse that were not resolved right away and a bit of an attitude with the young front desk guy at check in time but no big deal. The new management is also responsible for the renovations going on poolside and the removal of the previous restaurant serving casual dining and fine seafood pasta which was a mistake in my opinion. It has now been replaced with an overpriced, mediocre taco cart which had me wondering why I paid 48 pesos for ONE vampiro (open faced caramelo). Outrageous. Still great experience and vacation spot. Very affordable especially if you split a condo with friends or family and you are willing to bring some food and cook a little to save some money. Condos for the most part are updated and clean. Hands down best value for a resort stay in our experience. Plan to continue coming here in the future to see if they earn that fifth star ;) read more

I love the fact they have Villas you can rent. My fiance and I are having our wedding here and by far, there's nowhere you can get a beachfront wedding, villas, and fully catered all for a great price. Security is corrupt just like Mexican cops! We were walking within the resort from one to Villa to another Villa and we were stopped by security. For whatever reason one had a badge and looked like a cop. He searched our pockets and pulled out a planted cocaine baggy. He said he would call the police if we didn't pay him. We had to pay $200! Went here over the weekend. Rented a villa for $2200. We show up and we are in the middle of a construction zone. Our entire view of the beach was blocked by backhoes and other construction equipment. Then we get home and get an email saying that there were three dirty towels and we broke the table. All of it not true. They want to bill our credit card. Got a call from some friends that are staying there as well this weekend and the same thing, a bill for the same amount for dirty towels. Hot water sporadically.works. WiFi goes in and out. Heater on the wall is not working so the office gave us a small loud and inefficient one .We were cold all Nite( temperature drops in the high 40's low 50's at nite ! Have to beg for towels . We got 3 for both of us. Beds are not comfortable .At all!!!! Tennis court has been washed away ...not usable. Pool is not heated! View over a construction zone and beach is far away from hotel ! The gym has a big chain on the door and a pad lock and the windows are very dusty and dirty .. not sure it is opened for guests or usable ! Diners are expensive and food is less than average .Buffet was $12/ person " til 8 pm".We showed up at 7:00 pm and had our first plate .When we showed up for a second plate at 7:15 pm, they had already taken the buffet away!what a scam! Sunday morning people were leaving starting 5:30 am and talking and passing by our door . noise carries out and echoes ! The way the hotel is set up is from the hotel office to the parking, u have a wrap around walk away .... so anyone go by from parking to office will pass by ur door.... they should create a path or walk away going from office to parking lot directly! The staff is friendly and they have a security guard for the parking at nite I paid $107/ nite ! That's a joke ! It is not to the level of motel 6! read more

I have sent multiple emails to the email provided by the front desk of Las Palmas when we originally voiced our complaints during our stay and nobody has responded to address my issues... so here goes a lengthy complaint: The unit above ours flooded the day after Christmas rendering half our unit not only useless but a complete hazard. We had our 12-month old and our three year old staying with us. The one bathroom and the second bedroom were flooded and useless -- unless we wanted to have murky black water dripping from the ceiling on to us while we used the toilet. When we called the front desk, their response was that they would send someone up. After waiting for two hours, missing our family's holiday celebration dinner, nobody had come to address or stop the still-leaking water. We called again and a woman brought us TWO towels for US to clean up the mess. There was far more water than what two towels would clean up and the water was still leaking. We used bowls and cups in attempt to catch the dripping water this entire time. Eventually a man came to look at the unit but after telling him we didn't know Spanish, he shook his head (clearly frustrated) and left with no explanation. [To clarify, I understand Spanish but in no way would consider myself fluent... he could have explained what was going on and I would have understood. I wouldn't have been able to converse but he should have at least TRIED to explain SOMEthing about our flooded unit. There was no effort from management to fix our problem or even communicate with us about what was going on.] After about 4-5 hours (well into the early morning at this point) the water slowed down to ALMOST a stop. In the morning, a woman came to wash the floors and that's it. Thankfully we had cousins staying near enough to us that we could send our three year old to their unit and brought our baby to stay in our master bedroom-- which is NOT a vacation. We couldn't even use our bathroom... might I remind you that this was our Christmas celebration. It was horrible. An absolutely horrible experience and management did NOTHING. In my two emails over the past couple months, I asked for at least half of our payment back since more than half of our unit was unusable for our entire stay but nobody ever responded. I do NOT recommend Las Palmas. There are plenty of other resorts nearby that will care that your unit it a hazard to your children over Christmas. read more

13 of my friends and I stayed in a Casa at the Las Palmas resort, which started out fine. My friend put down her credit card for our security deposit ($400). Unfortunately, the first day of the trip, one of the beds broke, and one of the bunk beds collapsed. Obviously, this was previous damage, since all we did was lay on the beds. We put in a maintenance order right away- they came and fixed the regular sized bed but not the bunk bed. They told us they would come and fix it the following morning, but alas, they never did. As we checked out, we got charged $300 from our security deposit for the bunk bed and for a "missing" pillow. The "missing" pillow was in the washing machine, and we had obviously put in the work order for the broken bunk bed. I ended up calling the resort, where I explained everything about the work order, that she ended up finding, and she said she would talk to her manager and her manager would get back to me within a few hours. Her manager didn't get back to me within a few hours- instead, they ended up charging our security deposit the full $400 for no reason. 2 of my friends and myself then emailed the manager of the resort, and she completely ignored all attempts at contacting us back. Las Palmas management is incredibly unreliable and utterly unprofessional. DO NOT STAY AT THIS RESORT IF YOU WANT TO KEEP YOUR MONEY- they will scam you out of your money and then ignore you. The one good thing that came out of this was Reyna's Bloody Mary's, she was an amazing bartender. read more

I give this place 3 stars lightly. Overall great resort, we had an amazing view and stayed almost a week for a wonderful price. The resort has great pool areas as well as a hotel bar and grill, which was nice. The problem I had was the service and the security. Going to mexico I really didn't think I should be worried about too MUCH security but don't be mislead. The security here is insane and also very unpleasant. I doubt this would be a problem if you go alone or with your family, but if you're going with a group or for spring break make sure you are all in the same hotel because there is NO visiting time even during the day. Not knowing this, all of our friends booked other resorts so the whole week you couldn't go anywhere to see them except the beach. I saw about 5 people getting escorted out in handcuffs and my friend had a taser held to him. The security, as well as the staff, does not listen to you one bit. There is no customer service and there is no respect. Another time in the trip I was saying goodbye to my friend who was leaving and the security surrounded my car, and ended up bringing me all the way to the front office to make sure the hotel wristband that I was wearing was actually mine!! I'm a paying customer and obviously staying there (hence the wristband) but the security wasted my time and my patience as well as lost my respect of staying there. I don't want to rant about how awful the service and security was, but overall take those 2 factors out and the place is amazing. The villas are right on the beach and even the slide in the pool was enjoyable, and that's saying something because i'm 21 and haven't been on a slide in quite some time. Las Palmas is close to all the other hotels so it's nice to have more people in the area, but not too many where the beach or anything is crowded (even during spring break) and it's close to changos and benevidos and not too far from wrecked on the beach. This hotel is overall a 3 star stay and if the staff and security changed I would give it more. read more

My family and i came here last year for 4th of July we had an amazing stay , kids were allowed in the pool by the ocean with us and no issues! This year we came on Thursday, our room was sitting ready for 4 hours, so i said something! When people are paying you and the facilities are ready you should allow them ro be in the room, they didnt understand the saying "customer service " obviously! Then Friday we had a good day then came back to our condo and got in the pool with the kids and they told us kids arent allowed and we has said the day before they were in here a couple hours, soo we were frustrated and got out. Meanwhile across the pool they were going to allow a little preteen to stay in the pool as she was mimicking us across the pool and laughing cause she could stay, so i went over and said something! The security guard called the cops and kicked my whole family out of the villa 9 that we were staying in! Yes i opened my mouth but now getting on here and reading everyone else's issues , apparently we werent the only people that the security had issues with! They gave us 20 minutes to pack up the whole house or else we all would have gotten arrested just cause the security guard didnt like us! We had 4 babies with us, so can you imagine packing up and then trying to find a new hotel with your babies! Meanwhile my husband and mom and everyone is packing and trying to get the kids together, i had to goto the police station with my father which we got hassled to pay 200$ so we can go! On my way back to hotel to grab my family i left my dad towards the front and went in and the security wouldn't let me, then tells me you are cute when your mad!!! Soooo disgusted by the security here, his name is Francisco! And apparently hes causing issues for alot of people in this place! The owners of the villas wont be very happy with you guys!!!!! So needless to stay we got kicked out, yes I opened my mouth about the kids being able to swim but this is alittle ridiculous getting kicked out of the hotel!!! Be aware that the new oceanfront pool (the one in the photos) is off limits to families (only 18+ allowed). Families are only allowed in the older pool at the back of the property- causing it to become terribly overcrowded. The beautiful brand new oceanfront pool was nearly empty while the older pool was jam packed. This is a change from before and we wouldn't have booked here if we had known. We've stayed here many times but will try a different resort next time- where we can all be together and still have access to the swim up bar and all amenities. My kids are preteens- I don't want to be limited to "the kiddie pool" at this stage!! read more

THE WORST PLACE IVE EVER BEEN TOO. Security FORCED us too pay $150 so it would be "even" for the 3 of them, because we were smoking cigarettes on our balcony and blaming us that there was other "drugs". The next day, we went into the lobby because our room key wasn't opening our room door, and everyone is all the sudden gone and there are no available workers? Where are you? You work in a resort, and people need assistance. Especially people that are locked out of there room randomly. A blonde lady (non-worker) approached the lobby, while we were sitting in there waiting; and she said "why isn't anyone in here???? This place is ridiculous. And that HER SON got choked on the beach yesterday by the Mexican security guard from the front, and FORCED them too give $800 "to get out of trouble", which left the kids with $0, and by 12PM noon that next day, that boy and his friend are missing. AND still are!!!!!! It's been 13 hours, and still going right now. Coincidence??? Everything is about money, they will do anything. We also only got 1 roll of toilet paper, and 1 roll of paper towels for 5 people, and a 4 night stay. Beds are uncomfortable, and the utilities are terrible. Please do yourself a favor and stay the fuck away. read more

I give this 2 stars only because the Villa itself was very nice, right on the beach. Here's a few issues we dealt with mostly by staff. Reception is very very unfriendly, especially if you try and speak just English, guess I have high expectations coming from the US and hospitable service we get here. We got the "rules" and it said nothing about kids not being allowed in the jacuzzi, which we got kicked out of at 8:30am when NOBODY was there by security. The rules only said it is NOT RECOMMENDED not that it is NOT ALLOWED. My original reservation was changed a week prior from right on the beach to further back but they accepted my request for a different one and told me not to worry about the difference in charges. A day prior to our checkin I was charged the difference but immediately credited, however when checking in they tried to charge me and wasn't understanding the situation until my husband explained it from the beginning. read more

A few of us stayed in Baja while the rest stayed in Grande. I rented a room that was supposed to sleep 6; the room I received only had room for 4 and we had 6 people.The pullout sofa couch that was promised when making the reservation was not there, it was a regular couch. Reception said they couldn't get us another room or even an air mattress until the next day. The following day they provided us with a horrible air mattress that we did not even use for 2 nights. There was no refund. After that fiasco, it would have been nice to have a cold drinks; however there was no ice machine in our room or anywhere in the entire resort. Reception said we can buy some at the bar. We tried to enjoy ourselves and at night had BBQ and played music. The rules explicitly state we can play music till 10 pm. Every 15 min security came and told us to turn down the music. Security was kind and said it wasn't bothering anyone, but someone on the third floor who was very close to the owner called the owner and said we were bothering her at 7:30pm. Then the owner personally called reception and the reception team sent the security. Do yourself a favor and find a resort that will value you as guests. read more

Where do I begin. I wish it was possible to give negative stars. A group of guys and I decided to travel our little hearts to the talked about resort of Las Palmas. We decided after going for the past couple years, that we would of course venture to the great beyond and experience what Las Palmas has to offer for our Spring Break. As we checked in, we were informed of the rules and regulations associated with the resort. After agreeing, signing and accepting our rooms and villas, we were stopped and yelled at countless times by assholes of security. We were approached multiple times for our "loud and disruptive music" at around noon until 3pm, yet in the contract it says you are allowed to play loud music until 10 pm. That's what we signed for and those are the rules they made. After signing and paying, we were informed of these so called "New Rules". Absolute horse shit. Not only was the security rude and non compliant, but also aggressive and appalling. The head hauncho bitch, or head of security, not only screamed at my friends in front of many other guests, she also proceeded to place her hands and push my friend as well after my friend was trying to understand what she was saying. Obviously this is how the head of security should be conducting herself... oh wait... NO it's fucking not. I would never ever ever ever ever ever ever recommend this place to anyone. It's a shit hole and the workers are fucking disrespectful as shit. Only plus about this resort is the bartenders at the upstairs bar. Chico, Ariel, and last but not least Ricardo. They are the only reason I would ever step foot on this piece of shit land again. I would recommend staying far away. Just go to Cabo. Fuck this place. Never stay here. You're welcome in advance. I was SO impressed as well as my friends. We stayed here for 4 days and the place we booked was AMAZING. It was just like the pictures and my friends were very impressed. The security into Las Palmas was excellent and my friends and I felt safe walking around at night. One thing I was impressed with is that as a Las Palmas guest, you have the option of using any of their pools!!! Major plus! I would give this place 5 stars and would recommend this place to anyone. My family and I spent our vacation at the Las Palmas resort in Puerto Penasco, Mexico on November 3rd to November 6th. I booked our stay through Laspalmasreservations.com, which went smoothly. However, our stay was less than favorable. When we arrived at the resort and got into our villas (13 and 14) we were welcomed by construction on our back patio blocking us from the beach. If I would have known there was construction at the resort during our stay I would have stayed at a different resort, so I felt very deceived in order for them to get their villas booked. Being that it is a resort we expected we would have some kind of cleaning service daily, which we were prepared to pay for of course but did not receive. Instead, the front desk gave us laundry detergent in a Ziploc bag to wash towels. There was construction so there was dirt and the white towels are expected to get dirty with sand and dirt. They sent us pictures of towels and said "it could be washed but the stains will remain visible. All our towels must be 100% white" telling me they hadn't washed them before they sent the pictures. They charged us $43 for "damages to the towels" without washing them first. We were also asked to turn our music off at 10pm. I would fully understand if there was a noise complaint, but according to the security guard there is to be no music after 10pm. It makes no sense to apply resort rules but not have the full resort experience. On top of everything else, one of the guest's rooms in villa 13 appeared to have bed bugs. My guest, who was staying in the room, left full of small bug bites all over her body. I worked at a resort in the US so I understand what standards they should have. Regardless of where they are located, if it is called a resort it should feel as if it is. I would not recommend nor stay at this resort ever again. read more

The villa we stayed in was beautiful and I would give it 5 stars. The amenities in the resort were awful. They advertise that they have heated pools, swim up bar and beach bar. The pools are not heated and there are no working bars. The swim up bar was not stocked and not open. The beach bar was not open one day. When we questioned this we were told that the heaters would be turned on, but they never were. Consequently, we paid $2500 for a five night stay only to sit in the room or on the veranda. My poor family flew in from Chicago for this! My 3 young grandsons just watched tv. They tried to go in the pools but it was just freezing. That's saying a lot since kids will swim in just about any temperature of water.The management staff did nothing to compensate us. Instead they just continued to lie to us. When we asked to speak to the manager, we were told that they were not there. We asked for their names and phone numbers and they told us that they cannot give us that information. We fell duped and mislead. We could've vacationed anywhere here and chose this place....NEVER AGAIN!!!!!Very disappointed and for sure will never come here again and I advise anyone who is considering this place to think again and book somewhere else. read more
