A few minutes later, another man came in and asked if they were taking patients yet because he also wanted to have his labs done early. I told him, "No, she's on her break right now, and even before that nobody had been called back while I've been here." When the phlebotomist returned, she called the man back first. He told her that I had been there longer than he had and that she should take me before him. She replied, "No. She has a 10:30 appointment. It's your appointment time now." At that point, I left because I wasn't willing to sit in the waiting room for another hour after arriving early to see if I could be accommodated. I returned at 10:15 for my scheduled appointment, only to find the doors locked and no one in the waiting area. I then tried calling Quest to find out what was going on, but that turned into a complete circle. I looked up Quest's phone number and sat through a long hold before finally reaching a live representative. After explaining the situation, I was given the phone number for the very Quest location I had just left--only to discover it was the exact same number I had originally called. There was no direct way to reach the location or get any information, making the entire process incredibly frustrating.

We went to this urgent care in hopes to get some nausea medication for him. First - they require masks (November 2022). This is 100% okay - I'm all for masks, BUT they do not have extras for patients. As mentioned, we were here from out of town, so we didn't bring masks expecting to need medical attention and were just following the general county guidelines. No other urgent care was open and they refused to see us without a mask so we went to the local Rite Aid, spent $10 for a pack of masks, and then went back to be seen. Now that they were willing to see him with a mask, he explained what was going on and that he was hoping to get some medicine to help with his nausea. The secretary told us that they do not do injections (???) AND the "medical provider" would not be able to prescribe him medicine to pick up at a pharmacy. WHAT KIND OF URGENT CARE IS THIS?! Can't prescribe medicine?! I don't even think they have an actual doctor in the office. Should be shut down by the medical board.

However, when I arrived, I was told that they don't actually go by appointment times -- the online system is only used to check you in and verify insurance. Patients are still seen in the order they arrive, regardless of their scheduled time. If the online system is simply for pre-registration, that should be clearly communicated. It's frustrating to be told to make an appointment to avoid waiting, only to find out that you still have to wait just like a walk-in. Transparency about how the process really works would make a big difference.
