No other urgent care was open and they refused to see us without a mask so we went to the local Rite Aid, spent $10 for a pack of masks, and then went back to be seen. Now that they were willing to see him with a mask, he explained what was going on and that he was hoping to get some medicine to help with his nausea. The secretary told us that they do not do injections (???) AND the "medical provider" would not be able to prescribe him medicine to pick up at a pharmacy. WHAT KIND OF URGENT CARE IS THIS?! However, when I arrived, I was told that they don't actually go by appointment times -- the online system is only used to check you in and verify insurance. Patients are still seen in the order they arrive, regardless of their scheduled time. If the online system is simply for pre-registration, that should be clearly communicated. It's frustrating to be told to make an appointment to avoid waiting, only to find out that you still have to wait just like a walk-in. Transparency about how the process really works would make a big difference.
