He took the time to thoroughly evaluate everything, explain each step in a way that was easy to understand, and made sure I felt comfortable and informed throughout the entire process. What really stood out to me was how knowledgeable and detail-oriented he is. You can immediately tell that he has extensive experience and truly understands audiology at a high level. Instead of rushing through the appointment, he carefully listened to my concerns, answered every question patiently, and tailored his recommendations specifically to my situation. That level of individualized attention is rare to find today. Beyond his expertise, Dr. Pacheco-Thompson has an exceptionally warm and reassuring bedside manner. He is compassionate, attentive, patient, and genuinely makes you feel heard. He has a calming presence that immediately puts you at ease, which made the entire experience feel comfortable and stress-free. I never once felt rushed, pressured, or dismissed, only supported and cared for. It is rare to find a doctor who combines such a high level of technical skill with such sincere kindness and empathy. The professionalism at Kirsch Audiology as a whole was equally impressive. The office was organized, efficient, and welcoming, and every interaction reflected a high standard of care. It is obvious that Dr. Pacheco-Thompson takes pride in both his work and the overall patient experience from beginning to end. If you are looking for someone who is highly knowledgeable, trustworthy, meticulous, and truly dedicated to helping patients improve their quality of life, I cannot recommend Dr. Preston Pacheco-Thompson enough. The person who answered was extremely helpful and accommodating. She got me an appointment that same morning! There, they loaned me a pair of hearing aids (ReSound ENZO Q 98) and quoted me at $7800/each ($15,600/pair). There isn't much clarity on hearing aid pricing online, so I genuinely didn't know that quote was overpriced. After a month, my insurance company eventually caught up and referred me to Arcade instead, so I made my appointment mid-March. They managed to get me in pretty quickly (in 2 weeks). At the appointment I explained to Matt that I'd been demo-ing a pair of hearing aids for a month and that I'd like to see about getting the same kind. Imagine my surprise when Matt let me know they'd be $3100/each ($6200/pair) and then my insurance covered $2000. I was pretty shocked (and obviously relieved) and asked to go ahead with placing the order. I asked for white and I love them. I've worn hearing aids since I was 2 so I've never been shy about getting something colorful. My hearing aids arrived really quickly (about a week or so), but I was out of town so I delayed picking them up until today. Matt also asked if I'd like to get new molds ($85), but I'd already had mold impressions taken at Pacific, so I figured I'd wait until those came in (they wound up being $200 at Pacific, yikes). I'll definitely be sticking with Arcade going forward. Everyone was incredibly helpful throughout the process and I'm so grateful I got the referral to Arcade. Can't recommend them enough.

To start, in March of 2025 I experience my 1st vertigo episode after waking up to a spinning room. I wasn't sure why it happened but after going to a PT she reported I have BPPV, used the epley maneuver and sent me on my marry way. The only issue is that every month, like clock work I kept having vertigo symptoms, waking up in the middle of the night to the room spinning. I have gone to several ENTs with the same stupid response "take medication, you just have vertigo." As someone who likes to believe they're more holistic, I did not accept that as an answer. I just felt like something must be off. While it was an investment I am so happy I found DVI and Dr. Pearce. She is a literal angel and exactly what I needed at the time!! Finally, a doctor that was able to look at the whole picture and not gaslight me to believe that I am just 32 years old with a bad case of BPPV, crystals flying out of my ear every 3 weeks. She tailored a treatment plan just for me, and supported me though further investigation, including blood work, and looking at the neurology of my brain. I learned that my history of migraines and hormonal imbalance may have continued to vestibular migraines. While it was an overwhelming process with ovarian cysts and learning I have endometriosis in the background of it all, I can say that I was able to find peace in this health journey. The spinning has stopped happening in the middle of the night, I do not feel like I'm on a boat the majority of my life, I am not triggered by a spinning washing machine, or a car passing by, and I sure as heck feel like myself again. If you have the ability to see this treatment through, I highly suggest giving Dr Pearce a shot. Getting the whole picture rather than being gaslight and thrown medication at, was worth every penny!

I felt the operator of this business, Kevin Sharim, was rude, completely condescending, offensive, discriminatory, incompetent, pushy, irritating and in general just a complete waste of my time from start to finish. As soon as he greeted me he stated loudly, "WOW, you are WAAAAY too young to be in here!!!" Which is incredibly offensive to me as an HoH (hard of hearing) person of the (d)eaf community, as I and my brother were both born with congenital hearing loss. I have relied on lip reading and hearing aids since I was first diagnosed with hearing loss. I corrected him saying, "Actually, i'm 50 years old and born with congenital hearing loss," to which he replied more loudly...."AGAIN, like I said before, YOU ARE WAYYYYY TOO YOUNG TO BE IN HERE!!!!" Unbelievable. You've got to be a special kind of stupid to not understand how offensive this is, especially after the offended person politely corrects you. The only thing I can liken this to is someone with a really bad "dad" joke that they LOVE to keep using over and over despite the joke not landing and no one ever laughing. They don't take a hint...they keep using the same dumb dad joke, and if you don't laugh the first time then they REPEAT themselves with emphasis a second time rather reassess whether the joke was appropriate or not. So that this can be a teachable moment for anyone reading this, please understand that hearing loss comes in all shapes and sizes... Profound hearing loss, minor hearing loss, moderate loss, severe loss and everything in between. There is no age limit nor any age quantification on hearing loss. Babies can lose their hearing from fevers or disease in the same way that an elderly can lose hearing due to the process of getting older. Some people are simply born "differently-abled" and have hearing loss due to genetics. You should NEVER shame someone by saying something to the effect of "wait why are you deaf/hard of hearing, you're way too young?!" Any audiologist knows this. I have never met anyone so clueless and offensive in my life. I hated the fact that he took my picture in his office. I did not want my picture taken. Again, this was a first for me in 45 years of audiology tests. A picture is completely unnecessary and one should be given a choice. I said I prefer not to have my picture taken and he mumbled something about office policy and took it. Whatever. Kevin was very pushy and condescending. He said he needed to look inside my ears and asked me to remove my hearing aids. This is standard procedure and I was happy to comply. What I did not appreciate was after removing my aids he urges, "Turn 'em off, turn 'em off!" As if I'm a child watching tv past my bed time and being urged to "turn off the tv, turn off the tv!" You NEVER need to tell a patient twice to do ANYTHING. It is my prerogative to feel comfortable and to turn off MY EQUIPMENT when and where I deem appropriate. In this case, it made no sense to turn off my hearing aids because I would simply have to turn them back on again after the hearing test was administered. So silly. When we proceeded to the audio booth, he told me, "just leave your hearing aids here." No thank you. I don't want to. I've lost hearing aids before that way and I feel like it's good practice to keep them on me as they're very expensive. And the whole time I'm thinking, "I'm older than this guy why is he talking to me like I'm a child?" Next, we go into the sound booth and this is where it gets REALLY crazy. A standard hearing test involves listening for a series of beeps through headphones. When you hear a sound you push a button to indicate that you heard it. There is some degree of pause between each beep and they cannot be sequentially administered every 2 seconds or so, or else you would be able to correctly guess when to push the button thereby cheating and ruining the point of the hearing test. Very standard stuff which is probably taught in the first year of audiology school. Kevin starts administering beeps every other second.... like Morse Code. No pause, just beeps being administered rapid-fire so that I cannot tell if I'm pushing the button for the beep I just heard or the beep I'm about to hear. It was so confusing. I even asked him if there was supposed to be a pause in between the beeps so that you can't just guess when the next beep is and he said "nope this is how we do it." Then he hurt my ears. He said now I'm going to turn it up really loud and you tell me when it's uncomfortable. I expressed that might hurt my ears and he says "that's what we gotta do." I've never had this done in any hearing test. EVER. After about the 3rd time blasting a high pitched sound into my ears I took off the headphones and walked out of the office. UNSAFE, beware.

I've greatly improved because of Dr. Sol Marzghar and what he has done for me. He prescribed for me Widex hearing aids with the built in Zen fractal tones for dealing with tinnitus. To be quite honest, I've not had to rely on the fractal tones for a long time due to my habituation (doing far better than when I first started).
