After 30 minutes with the audiologist testing, she could not explain the amount of hearing loss or the results of the tests. Also, experienced incompetence by the office administrator. She said she would forward my results to my primary care physician so I could get authorization to see an ENT specialist. She failed to do so. I did not hear from my PCP so I called Sonus 2 weeks later and the admin confirmed it was not sent. This has delayed my visit to an ENT by at least two weeks because I'm scheduled to first visit, again, my PCP to get the authorization. read more

Very poor service, I am disappointed after being a customer for 10+ years. My Phonak hearing aids are in for warranty service and I needed a part for my old Phonak aids, first they said they would not work on them because they were over 5 years old, then they said $35 and finally they said that they don't have any parts for them. I wend to Alpha Hearing Aids in Northridge, they were super nice, cleaned ah replaced the broken rubber boot on my aids and gave me a 6 pack of new boots all for $5.00 They won my business. After more than a decade of denial and lots of griping from my girlfriend who grew tired of having to repeat everything she said to me multiple times, I bit the bullet and had a hearing evaluation from an ears, nose and throat specialist. It wasn't exactly a surprise when he told me I had bilateral high frequency hearing loss. He gave me two referrals, one of which was for Hearing Aids, Etc. I chose this provider ultimately because they were on my insurer's provider list. I made an appointment for the next day, and it turned out to be one of the best decisions I have ever made. I met with Layla Sweeney, MS, who confirmed my hearing loss. We discussed any lifestyle factors that might influence my choice of hearing devices, and I told her I was a musician so I needed something that would not distort the sound. She answered my numerous questions and allayed any fears I had. We settled on some very small, programmable hearing aids by Starkey (the Xino model) which allow the user to switch programs for a variety of conditions. I have now had them for several months and I could not possibly overstate how delighted I am with the profound improvement in my quality of life, the quality of the devices themselves, and the friendly, professional and caring staff. I have been to their offices around five or six times over the past few months for periodic adjustments as I have adapted to using my hearing aids. I have felt each time that Ms Sweeney and the other staff are fully attentive to my needs and devoted to ensuring I am completely happy. I recently went to Hearing Aids Etc for a pre surgery hearing test and check up and my experience was pleasant and top notch. The staff were friendly, courteous and very helpful. My wait time in the lobby was minimal and my examination thorough and comprehensive. My audiologist was a lovely young woman by the name of Layla Sweeney, who was very kind, patient and informative. She explained every aspect of the test before and went over the results with me after explaining all aspects of the results and patiently answering all my questions. Sonus and Evelyn Yoc are as good as it gets! I have had a hearing loss for over a decade and have replaced my hearing aids at least 5 times over. I think what has impressed me most about the Sonus group is that they weren't just selling me a set of hearing aides. Evelyn worked with the Advanced Bionics professionals and I am now fitted with the Naida Link hearing aid which is compatible with my newly implanted Naida cochlear implant! From my very first call to the office, I was received so much help and was so pleased at how easy Tiffany made everything! She was SO helpful in getting me an appointment for my Mom, getting paperwork emailed to me and contacting her PCP...We actually realized we have an office closer to where my Mom lives while on the phone, but Tiffany was so helpful and so nice, I made the appointment for my Mom in West Hills. The Audiologist, Sudha was extremely nice and did a great job with my Mom! Maria helped my Mom with the different hearing aide options and was extremely understanding of my Mom's hesitation in getting a hearing aide. Maria did a great job in explaining everything and gaining my Mom's trust. Everyone in the office is so kind and wonderful taking time to help with all our questions and concerns. I had my first visit at Hearing Aids etc.They were highly recommended to me, and I couldn't feel happier, or more relaxed feeling as though I was in the best hands imaginable. Deana Langer took out time to be explicit and was so helpful that I have never been treated with such perfection. I was told in the past that I had background nose that could never be regulated, even though It was drowning out all my conversations. NOT SO, NOT AT HEARING AIDS ETC. Ms. Langer did a procedure that regulated my outside noise and made it so much better, I couldn't be happier with my visit. Not impressed. I went to test my 2yrs old as he is not speaking yet so we wanted to find out if he had an hearing problem. The audiologist told me that she had difficulties testing him (I mean... He is a toddler, of course he does not want to have constrictive instruments on his ears...) so fine. But what really annoyed me was that she said that if he was a "normal" child she would not have any problems testing him. That really annoyed me. I find it insulting and unprofessional. Then she said that the only way to test him was to go to the hospital, have him sedated and test his brain waves. Really?!?? I left and went to UCLA where they used VRA (video reinforcement audiometer) and all went fine. My rating of this place would be zero if I could for incompetence and rudeness. read more

My first visit at Hearing Aids Etc was about three months ago and I met Layla Sweeney for the first time. I had a wonderful experience and can not express enough how great the service was. Layla was very thorough and took her time to ask me questions and explained things to me. I have been having this hearing loss for quite some time and have seen ENTs who just rush me in and out of their office, which didn't help me much with my problem but to avoid it but after my visit with Layla I felt more confident and willing to take extra steps to get the help I needed to improve the quality of my life. I had never had this kind of exceptional service where someone actually cares about the client and takes their time to assist me. On recommendation of a friend who has been nearly deaf since childhood but whose hearing aids allow her to hear without even lip-reading, I took my 89-year old father there yesterday to see Deana Langer for a hearing assessment and to adjust his hearing aids which were obtained elsewhere. We were very impressed with the thoroughness of Deana's exam and the accuracy of her assessment, which Dad was able to confirm when she put a temporary tip on his hearing aid that gave an example of how much better he can be hearing with a correction to his existing hearing aids. Rhonda was very helpful in getting us scheduled and helping us apply for a free state-issued Call Caption phone, and Maria, the medical technician was able to painlessly extract wax buildup from Dad's ears. Every other time he'd had that done elsewhere it was painful, but not with Maria. Everyone was kind, helpful, and informative. We left feeling well taken care of with a clear plan of action that would save money and correct his existing hearing aids. I will definitely recommend them to anyone with a hearing issue. read more
