I wish I could give more stars. I lost hearing in my left ear during pregnancy. I spent 7 years seeing specialists in Beverly Hills and spending a lot of money to find out what's wrong but I got no results in return. Ear specialists kept trying to push hearing aids on me without being able to explain what was wrong. VETERANS STAY AWAY! Wouldnt see me even though i had an appointment. Lady was clearly trying to go home, was on the phone with her Boss saying i had all the proper paper work and appointment was set for 7:15pm. I shower up 15 minutes early like the appt instructed me too, drove 2 hours to get here, and all she kept saying on the phone was "i shouldn't see him right, send him to the VA right, even if i see him i cant out it in the system", she was clearly trying to go home, Don't come here if MSLA send you, you'll get the "thanks for your service but we want to go home" attitude. What a great Dr! Didn't have to wait at all for my 10:00 am appointment. Went right into his office and told him my long-winded story of my hearing issues. He gave me a complimentary hearing test. Dr. spent over 45 min with me explaining what was going on with my ears and the best course of action. If I do get hearing aids, I'm coming back here! Nice clean office. New equipment. I've been to several audiologists and 4 of the last ones had audio testing equipment from the 70's! All the equipment in this office looks brand new. read more

Dr Shalev is Wonderful! I had been having some issues with my ears and went to Dr Shalev to diagnose. He was very gentle and professional and was able to determine my issue quickly and painlessly. I think that many people shy away from seeing an ear doctor, and now I cant see me going anywhere else! I also noticed he had a great selection of hearing devices and was very knowledgable about the different types to assure a comfortable fit. I went to the Ear Group for the lst. time and I had a wonderful experience. Dr. Shalov saw me and i had a terrible time hearing over the phone and mumbling is what i heard muffled sounds and even on one and one conversations. I was prepared to get the end result of new hearing aids. Dr. Shalov said he would be back shortly and took my H.A. with him cleaned them and must have done an adjustment as he found 2 errors I was doing with them, fixed the the problem perfectly and I feel like I was reborn. The Dr. fixed whatever was wrong and I hear so much better the muffled sound is gone, clarity is outstanding and I say Dr. Shalev is a one of a kind as he took so much time with me and he treated me as a person that mattered, not a number, and I couldn't be happier and the EAR GROUP IN WEST HILLS changed my life for the better and I had to share as they are truly as good as it gets. This was a first-class experience from start to end. When I contacted the office staff for an examination, I was able to be seen almost immediately. Not having to wait for weeks for an examination is HUGE in my book. I was later happy to learn this office is also very accommodating to "walk-ins" having issues with their hearing devices. This level of dedication to their patient base is a quickly disappearing aspect of patient service given the direction "managed health care" has taken in recent years. The reception staff (Rachel) was very friendly and helpful. The office itself was very neat and clean. Dr. Shalev conducted a very through examination, utilizing several different types of diagnostic equipment - which all appeared to be new and state-of-the-art. Following my examination, Dr. Shalev discussed the results of my examination with me (at length), and provided a VERY detailed printed report to be utilized in my claim. I noted a wide array of hearing devices on display, and I'm confident that when the time comes to find a solution to my issue, it will be found amongst the various available devices I saw. I was very satisfied with the level of service and professionalism provided by this office and it's personnel. This is a family business, and you are treated like family rather than just another patient who is being shuffled in-and-out the door to maximize the daily patient count. I ran into Dr. Shalev and his mother (a long time professional acquaintance) while we were all volunteering at the Special Olympics (Healthy Hearing) World games . When she heard I hadn't had time to get my new hearing aids programmed, she volunteered her son!! First of all, he confirmed all times and directions via email (a plus to someone with a severe hearing loss) and made himself available according to MY schedule. At my appointment, it was obvious he knew what he was doing and was very knowledgeable about the hearing aids I brought in to be programmed. As an audiologist with a hearing loss, I have had several pairs of hearing aids over the past few years. The programming process can be a nightmare if someone doesn't know what they're doing...not the case with Dr. Shalev...it was fast, comprehensive and actually fun!
