The business's policies and communication have been confusing and unprofessional. The disclaimer states that if a deposit is not paid, an appointment will not be booked. However, I was able to book an appointment without paying the $50 deposit. Later, I received text messages stating that I could not schedule any future appointments until I paid the deposit because I had allegedly missed an appointment, but not thinking that it was actually booked until I paid it! This creates unnecessary confusion and miscommunication about whether the deposit is actually required. If the deposit is mandatory, the booking system should consistently enforce that policy, and not allow you to book without payment! I also do not appreciate being contacted through personal text messages regarding an alleged balance. If the business believes I owe a fee, I would expect a formal invoice or written documentation through the appropriate business channels. Repeated text messages requesting payment are not a professional way to handle billing matters. Definitely will take my 450.00 elsewhere! read more

I have thick, coarse, wavy/curly Asian hair and after searching tirelessly through Yelp I found this salon. I drove 30 minutes to try this place out and it was DEFINITELY WORTH IT. I had Sarah cut and style my hair and she did an amazing job! She is super cool and sweet and I'm so appreciative I had her to help change up my hair. I decided to cut off a good 12 inches of hair and was very hesitant of how it would turn out because my hair frizzes and curls in a particular way, but Sarah assured me she would be able to give me the results I wanted. She definitely stayed true to her words and I can't stress how much I love my hair. I've received a handful of compliments from various friends and feel great. I was told my usual stylist Sydney, whom I absolutely love, was completely book. I decided to go with someone else, as I assumed a tone would be simple. Front desk even assured me that all their stylists were experts in what I was asking for. The night before, I was getting cold feet about switching stylists but couldn't get ahold of anyone at the office.. so I stopped in 10 mins before close on my way from work and the doors were locked while they were inside Fast forward to the appt, I saw Heather who said she could freshen up the look by bringing up the balayage closer to my roots and a tone. She finished by curling my hair and sent me on my way. Once I got home, I realized that my roots were 3 different colors, very orange and just straight harsh lines, no blending at all!!! see photos. I immediately sent pictures to Sydney, my usual stylist at Sorella, and cried asking for advise! I'm so frustrated that I was sent to a different stylist and ended up getting my hair botched. She was so reassuring and is getting me in ASAP to help fix this mess!! She's truly an expert and so talented at what she does, she goes above and beyond to get you to the color you are after. 5+ star review for Sydney, would recommend her to anyone. Literally the worst experience ever. Had an appointment at 4:45, arrived at 4:30, waited until 5:30- apparently they checked me out on accident. No apology, no nothing. I am a cancer patient and going through chemo, I've waited a year for my hair to grow back and I thought it was finally time to get a cute haircut and color to make me feel better about myself. I decided to color my hair purple to add some fun to my life. The color only lasted 2 1/2 weeks and I paid $215 for color and cut. I am so disappointed with the result. I don't think paying that much for a color to only last a few weeks is worth it. The stylist told me it should last a few months. Well... so sad and disappointed. read more

Not as professional as they make themselves up to be. My family and I went in to get our hair styled (we all have normal mid length dark brown hair) and we wanted some loose curls, a half up half down braided style, a pony tail style and an updo for which both the stylists Krystal and Remi said they can absolutely do. What ended up happening was that my mother did all of our hair styles and both the stylists, especially Remi (who knows absolutely nothing about hair) just stood there putting hair spray in our hair. Pathetic, especially since they charged us a whooping $300 for, essentially, my mothers service. The front desk guy was nice at first, but then absolutely unreasonable and failed to realize what had happened and insisted on us paying $30 more even after we explained to him what happened, fuck no sir! The communication at the salon is atrocious. I would advice to not get your hair styled at this salon, I am not sure about the other stylists, but Krystal and especially Remi should not be doing hair. Krystal is apparently a top tier stylist, but unprofessional since she disappeared many times to attend to her daughter, sorry but we did pay for her to disappear every 5 minutes. Remi, could not do a simple half up half down, and he asked 3 other stylists for help, and then ended up not doing none of our hair. We were at the salon for 4 hours and our hair was still not done. We were very disappointed and disheartened since we were to attend a reception party that night, but first we had to go fix our hair at home. My advice, save your buck or thoroughly research which stylists are actually good there. Ps, I would put a rating of 0 stars if I could. read more

My hair is naturally black, and thick so it's hard for my hair to get lifted and other places I have gone before never made me feel satisfied. With Savannah, I came in buttery blonde and left with ash blonde. I've never been happier with my hair transformation!! This salon is so cute too! I love the complimentary drinks and care! Here they recommend a dry shampoo which was 48.00 AND another product that was also 48.00 what 17 year old can afford that . My daughter recently received a less-than-acceptable haircut on her beautiful, waist-length naturally curly hair. After the shock of seeing it go from her waist to her shoulders, I was further appalled at the uneven cut that was glaringly apparent after straightening it. After MUCH searching for somewhere nearby to even it out and at a price I felt I could manage, I settled on Sorella. We were able to get an appointment same day. Traffic was a bugger and I called to advise we'd be late. I really wish I'd gotten the name of the girl I spoke to to give her credit for her excellent customer service. Rather than canceling or rescheduling on another day, she adjusted our appointment time which worked perfectly. And then there was Jennie, the stylist. She was incredibly attentive to detail and while it took a fair amount of time (my daughter has A LOT of hair!), I've never seen my daughter's hair look more beautiful. I have no doubt Jennie did all she could to even the hair without sacrificing any more length. And to sweeten the experience, I was charged exactly what I'd been quoted. Erica and Brandon did a wonderful job with my hair at Sorella. Erica gave me a full balayage and Brandon styled my hair at the end with perfect beach waves. I have dark brunette hair. I showed Erica a picture of what I was going for and she delivered. I have a LOT of hair and she was patient, detailed, and didn't rush through anything. It turned out just how I wanted it. My previous balayage a few years ago turned out very brassy and not at all satisfactory, so I was nervous going into my appointment but she did an excellent job. Brandon was also very informative about hair products, and had great energy about him. Overall experience at Sorella was wonderful. There was a slight hiccup regarding scheduling. The day of my appointment, they called and asked if they could push back my appointment by an hour because the stylist was running late on her schedule. Luckily I was available but had I not been? The salon is really chic and I have always had good service here, I've never had a bad haircut. I stopped coming in for colors because honestly, for the price I paid, the colors were underwhelming and not much different than what I get from a box of loreal! I paid about a 100 dollars for a trim (including tips). 85 dollars for a trim is just too expensive for me. Services are good but not spectacular enough to deserve the price tag they come with. I am sure I can get my once in two month trim and styling for a lot less elsewhere. read more

I typically only like to write favorable reviews, but have been scarred from my experience here. Pros: beautiful salon, with a trove of lovely blonde stylists that do provide nice conversation and excellent customer service Cons: Expensive haircut ($100, including tip) for something so mundane and idiotic looking. I will not name stylist because she was so nice, but the cut neither resembled the picture I showed her (there were instructions on how to convey the cut to the stylist), nor met the parameters of what I wanted. It lacks style, depth, and importantly is not what i asked for. I pushed back, questioned the look, asked for more but to no avail. In the end, the cut was about 3 inches shorter than the 3 I wanted cut, had very little layers and no style. I went back to get it corrected, was met with genuine eagerness to make me happy, but reluctance to make any more adjustments. In the end, I can't even look in the mirror. Hair grows back, but not fast enough. I made an appointment at a different salon where I will spend another $80 to get my hair corrected. I will only laugh because a girl with a mom haircut crying in the corner is not becoming. read more

I created a yelp account just for this review because of how unfair I think this salon is. It is a cute and trendy salon with a great atmosphere. My stylist was super sweet and did a good job. HOWEVER three weeks later and my brown hair has turned a horrible red/copper color and I am very unhappy with it. I called the salon hoping they would want to maintain their good name and offer to fix my hair but I was told they only fix hair before two weeks have gone by. So after paying a very pretty penny I am stuck with horrible hair and no help to fix it. Being in customer service I find this completely unacceptable and will not be back or recommend it. read more

I'm a naturally VERY dark brunette, but over the past 15 years have gone back and forth from blonde highlights to box brown (DO NOT DO THIS). The damage I've done led me to chop my hair off very short a few years ago, and I became very loyal to a stylist elsewhere in the area as we slowly lifted my hair to VERY blonde and grew it out with regular conditioning treatments. Then, of course, as they all do...she left. I ended up dying my hair back to brown at a super high end salon somewhere else, which I immediately regretted. That same salon helped me lift it back to a light brown, but it was really yellow. A totally fake blonde yellow. I was then gifted a visit to Sorella, and booked an appointment with Heather for a partial foil. Even though my hair has been through you-know-what, I was able to show Heather a picture of my much longer, much more blonde hair and she knew exactly what to do. Not only was she a joy to sit with and chat with while she did the foils, I was THRILLED that I emerged blonde! Not just a light-brown with streaks....I'm actually light blonde! She did a few things she told me she wouldn't normally do, and admitted I was pulling REALLY orange... so she worked some magic. Her rate was about 1/2 of what I've paid for the "designer" salons in Seattle and other Eastside places, so it's not that pricey (plus, you really get what you pay for). She also emphasized what products I needed to look for, even though I couldn't really afford the ones in the salon. I loved that she cared more about the health and look of my hair than making a sale! SO happy I found Sorella and Heather!! read more

After I wrote this review the salon contacted me again. I spoke personally with Casey at the salon and she was able to get me in for an appointment the next day. My appointment with Jennie was great. She was very nice and knowledgeable. I explained what I was looking for and she offered suggestions. She was very patient and probably stayed late helping me. I have no complaints after my appointment. I made another appointment with Jennie and fully intend of continuing to use this salon. The salon went out of their way to make up for the miscommunication. Honestly had it not been for that I would have had an amazing experience. I attempted to get my hair cut here but unfortunately this never happened. After initially booking an appointment online I was told the cost for the hair cut would be 75. So I let them know I needed to cancel due to cost. I was able to reschedule for this past Saturday with someone who could do my cut for a lower price. I get to the salon and after waiting I am told that my appointment was double booked and unfortunately everyone else was busy so they couldn't get me in. They offered to reschedule me with one of the top stylists for Monday, this was on Saturday. After this I decided to cancel the appointment and was told that it wasn't for the coming Monday but a week away! I was contacted by the salon about correcting their mistake. After telling them how limited my schedule was and the one day I could come in I never received an email back. The whole situation was poorly handled and the follow up was worse. I was contacted multiple times about fixing it and when I offered an option there wasn't even a response to apologize for not being able to make this happen. It shouldn't be this complicated to get a hair cut especially at this nice of a salon. Maybe the stylists are great but if you can't even get in to see them why book an appointment? Stylist I had was really rude over a scheduling mistake the front desk made, not me. Paid a ton of money for her to tell me while she's washing my hair, "well it's not the color you wanted, but everyone wants this color right now". I left auburn when I went in blond and just wanted lighter blonde. Wouldn't refund my money but sent me to a different stylist who made me sign a color correction agreement because now thanks to the stylist It was a color correction, and I still left with auburn hair. I wound up going to gene Juarez where she fixed my hair and have been going there for two years now.
