Not the same since they changed owners and change names they don't even have a slicer to slice Italian bread lol I don't know what's wrong with them. They show that they have gelato but they're a couple options that they have are like old in freezer burning stale and they won't put fresh ones in there they'll keep it completely empty and it was barely on the bottom to scrape up a cup the place is not as good as it use to be . We actually came up here for Yelp's Sweet 16 event in July (I'm a little behind on the review). Funny thing about this was that we were already planning on going but the night before we were watching Food Network and they had a segment on Lobster Tails. Ben had never heard of them before but I remembered them from when I was a kid. Wouldn't you know it... Sorrento makes Lobster Tails! I was excited for Ben to be able to try one. There were lots of other things I wanted to get but was good and kept myself under control. We also got the Sfogliatelle, which I had never had before either and they were giving out some cookies and a little piece of a cake. The Sfogliatelle was a little dry for my liking but the Lobster Tails were so good. And they were big too, we probably should have just got one to share to be honest. This is such a cute spot to stop for breakfast in the morning! The pastries are displayed beautifully in their cases, and they are so delicious. The only complaint I have is that the barista changes a lot, and we seem to get different quality lattes with different baristas. My only recommendation would be to get them all on the same page about how the drinks should be made, otherwise this place is excellent! Their caprese sandwich was on the freshest bread , with such fresh produce AND fresh mozzarella and the pesto drizzled over it was like heaven in my mouth ! Not pictures is a few cookies I purchased and I ate them to fast to even snap a picture , it was like I was eating Italian cookies from a New York bakery ! I was so excited to spot an Italian bakery when visiting the area. I really wanted to love this place. Although the service was wonderful when I stopped in to pick some pastries to go, I was highly disappointed upon digging into them once home. The custard in the Napoleon had more of an icing texture (heavier and grittier than one would expect), the chocolate Italian log cake had a very strange taste and the rainbow cookies (usually my favorite selection from an Italian bakery) were underwhelming. read more

This review is ONLY for the bakery! I've never been here but am always willing to drive to the ends of the earth for a good Italian bakery and grocery. The sign says Sorrento Little Italy - Market, Deli, Bakery, Restaurant, Banquet Hall. Imagine our surprise when we pulled up to this old strip mall and walked in to find ONLY a bakery. Don't misunderstand me, the smell of the bakery brought me right back to Brooklyn, NY!! The breads, pastries and cookies all looked amazing! We saw what to me looked like a big mess on one side of the store. It was all tables and chairs and whatever was left from what looked like was once a restaurant. I saw no signs of what looked like any kind of market or any signs of what used to be a market. Confused, we asked the older Italian woman behind the counter about the other side that clearly was a restaurant at some point. She kind of mumbled something about it but I'm not even exactly sure what she said. Something about another business that closed down. So, my husband and I carefully looked over the bakery. We purchased a loaf of prosciutto bread which was delicious which we haven't had since we left NY many years ago! When we got in the car we broke a piece off and tried it right away! It was delicious and we were in heaven. We also purchased two St. Joseph pastries and some Italian cookies. Everything was delicious! This bakery had several kinds of Italian breads, pastries, what looked like Italian cheesecake and regular cheesecake and Italian cookies. NOTE: Sorrento opened a location in Tampa. This location is so much more convenient if you live in Tampa and want Italian pastries or cookies. Unfortunately, they DON'T sell Italian bread at the Tampa location. read more

They make pie to order, sauce had a nice sweetness. i was more impressed with their bakery area which i browsed before we left to go to the movies. Ive only visited once so I can only give 3 stars based off that visit. I went on a weekday early afternoon so I was the only customer. Everyone greets you walking in, they are very friendly and helpful. The butcher is closed until October so that kind of sucked. I've been missing my bakeries in NY so I never miss an opportunity to try all Italian bakeries in FL. I got a half pound of cookies that would have cost be about $12+ back home but was only $7! I got a few vanilla florentine (lace), chocolate chip, sprinkles, and rainbow cookies. The rainbow and sprinkles were mediocre, the chocolate chip were great, the lace tasted great but were soft. Possibly because they actually make everything there fresh! Many bakeries on Arthur Ave actually buy some of their cookies from a wholesaler and those lace cookies have a crunch, which I love. Will definitely be returning to try more goodies, the meats, and especially the restaurant! read more

Sorrento was closed for several months due to a complete remodel .The dining area and bar are gone and eventually will be located upstairs . Good things are yet to come , according to the owner , Joseppi . There is a limited menu that includes mostly pizza , calzone , and subs .The bakery is still as good as ever along with some pics i'm about to post to show what's available . I would like to conclude that prices are high for some food items .All pizza's are 14 inch and $12.95 with $1.50 for toppings . Some pizza's have toppings .
