The ice cream was freezer burnt, over priced, the place its self was clean, and the staff were very friendly.

Grandkids wanted a treat and we decided to make a stop at Sugar Bomb Dessert Bar. Upon arriving…read morethere were a couple of customers enjoying ice cream, but I decided not in my car today. We all know the littles and Florida heat don't go well with ice cream eating inside a car. Plus I wanted them to get a little more substance on the way to Anclote Park. So I had them pick from the sparse selection of dessert options: Cake Pops in a sugar or regular ice cream cone, sugar sprinkle cookie, chocolate chip cookie or brownie. All three decided Cake pops, so I picked one sprinkle sugar cookie and a brownie as an additional let's try option. The ladies behind the counter were super sweet and even took the time to place our goodies into a carrier. The inside was clean, as well as the restroom. The store was sparsely decorated, but that's more a personal preference of mine to bring in character to a local shop. Show some panache and magic, attract that clientele in the age of social media. Back to the treats though. Not one of my sweet treat connoisseurs had more than a small bite out of their cake pops, "they're bland and gummy, we don't like them." So sadly they got tossed uneaten. The sprinkle cookie they shared, but still not a big hit, "it's dry and waxy tasting. So last try was the brownie and, "it's dry and doesn't taste fresh." All the treats not a good experience. I will venture one more try, as I always think everyone can have an off day. Today was a miss.

Down and Dirty: beautiful views, efficient service, decent food and fair pricing…read more I was on vacation with family and friends and was looking for a local spot on the water for dinner and found this place. Making reservations on open table as quick and efficient. When we arrived, our tables put together and ready for us and we were sat immediately. A decent menu with good variety and fair pricing. Everyone seemed to enjoy their food. My husband had the stacked turkey club sandwich and he thought it was delicious. I had the tuna poke nachos and the tuna was very good but the wonton nacho chips were stale tasting. I don't know if they were just left out for too long or if they were over fried, but that would be my only complaint. We chose to dine outside and watch the beautiful sunset with the cool breeze, brushing our faces while we sipped on our cocktails and enjoyed lively discussion. If we were in the area again, I would likely come here at sunset

Whiskey Joe's came highly recommended by several locals, so I was really excited to give it a try…read more The atmosphere is definitely the highlight--it's right on the water with beautiful views, a fun beachy vibe, and a great place to relax. Unfortunately, our dining experience didn't quite live up to the recommendations. We ordered appetizers and entrees at the same time, but our food took about 45 minutes to arrive, and our appetizers didn't come out until the exact same time as our entrees. Since we had ordered simple appetizers like chips and queso and ceviche, it was a little disappointing that they weren't served first. When I asked about it, I was told the kitchen was backed up. Our server was pleasant, but she wasn't very attentive throughout the meal. There were a few times we had to get up and find her just to get drink refills or an update on our food. I completely understand that restaurants can have off days, and even the people I was dining with--who visit often and usually rave about this place--mentioned that this experience was out of the ordinary. As for the food, the ceviche wasn't my favorite, and my shrimp tacos were a bit over-fried. Overall, I left feeling disappointed, especially considering how highly the restaurant had been recommended. That said, the location and atmosphere are absolutely beautiful, and based on how much the locals seem to love it, I'm hoping this was just an off day rather than the norm.
