To preface, I've been getting chiropractic adjustments since I was about 4 years old, and have been to over 50 different chiropractors all over San Diego, Orange County, LA, and Southeast Michigan, so I have some experience in different treatments, and it's very easy for me to compare doctors. I currently receive chiro care for sports injuries and to maintain support for my gym workouts. I've been coming to Sorrento Valley Chiropractic since 2021 or so, after a family friend referred both my mom and I to Dr Tim Reed. He's been absolutely incredible in my health journey due to his brilliant knowledge of chiropractic, his modern adjustment style, and his detailed notes (something that not a lot chiropractors do). Tim has also been training another highly skilled chiropractor (Jordan) in his exact methods, so that when Tim eventually retires, Jordan will be able to replicate Tim's exact adjustment style and approach - again, something that is few and far between. Jamie, the other chiropractor (and office manager), is also very skilled and extremely friendly, should Tim or Jordan not be available. You're in good hands with these guys! I highly recommend this place -- I've been coming here for a few years now. Ofelia and Dr. J have always helped me so much with my back pain and stress. They are amazing, professional, and truly care about their patients. Recently my back got extremely tight again and I could barely move my neck. Unfortunately Dr. J was out of town, but as soon as I explained the situation and told him I needed help ASAP because it was more than just regular soreness, he immediately referred me to Dr. L. My lower back has been killing me and was able to get a last minute appointment here. I saw Dr. Reed and he's been great! He's super personable and easy to talk to. He also doesn't try to upsell you on services like other chiropractic offices do. He's also really good at explaining procedures and what he's about to do. I was required by insurance to get a referral for Chiropractor care and got SO LUCKY to be referred to Dr. Reed. I've had pain in my upper left back/shoulder for almost 2 years that couldn't be fixed by 2 other chiropractors and 6 months of biweekly Physical Therapy. Unlike other Chiropractors, Dr. Reed reviewed my X-ray and MRI results, and has made adjustments only in the pin pointed problem area and has extremely minimized my pain after about 6 months. I would recommend Dr. Reed to anyone looking for great Chiropractic care, he sits down and explains everything from what could be causing the pain to the plan for a fix. I've been to a few chiropractors over the years, but my insurance changed recently and I wasn't covered anymore by my previous chiropractor. Went to Tim Reed for lower back pain and wrist/thumb pain. For my back, he did the standard things every chiropractor does. No complaints here, but also nothing noteworthy. Pretty standard. I've been to a few chiropractors, doctors, and physical therapists, but am still looking for a solution to my low back pain. However, when I told him about the thumb tendinitis I've been feeling, he grabbed my thumb and yanked it. It hurt for a few days, but I still went back for another visit and asked why it's hurting. Mr. Reed made up some stuff to convince me the pain was normal, but after going home and thinking about it, I realized it just really didn't make sense. It's been hurting for over a month now (my last visit was 11/13/17). It's getting better, but it's a slow process. He was a very nice guy and seems like he genuinely wants his patients to get better, but I would avoid coming here. It does seem like he's helped many others with their pain (judging from other reviews), so perhaps it was just my own personal experience and what happened with me was a rare case. read more

I have been under Chiropractic Care since I was a kid. My mother was a firm believer in the healing power of Chiropractics, so we went often. When I moved to SD 6 years ago, I was looking for a Chiropractor and was so pleased to find Dr. Reed. I had been to a few others in the Hillcrest Area, who tried to get me to "buy a plan" and return back to his office 4 times a week. This was not what I was looking for. Dr. Reed is great because he will set you right and does not try to talk you into multiple visits unless you are in real pain and need to be treated. You can really trust him! If you can't get in to see Dr. Reed, there is another Chiropractor there that I really like. Dr. Jacquemound. He really takes his time and does a lot of muscle work. I've been going to Dr. Reed for years (1998 to be exact). He is the only chiropractor that can adjust my neck and I haven't gone to another chiropractor since I met him. Every time I leave their office I'm feeling better - and believe me sometimes I feel horrible when I walk in! Dr. Reed has a very comfortable disposition I need to trust in a Chiropractor. I was totally against them until I met him. Had to find a closer chiropractor to my house with gas being the way it is, La Mesa is way to far from Mira Mesa. To yelp I go and Sorrento Valley chiro was the closet and they took my insurance so it was as simple as that. Dr. Reed is by far a way better chiro than my old one who would just put me on the backaloter and be done with me. Dr. Reed diagnosed my limited movement left hip when I never knew it messed up in the first place. But now I feel great. read more

I'm really loving Dr. Reed so far. I got into see him when I couldn't move my head and had pain shooting down into my fingers. I've only seen Dr. Reed a couple of times, but I'm feeling 70% better than I was. Healing slower on this injury but seems pretty normal given the fact I had some disc damage. He is not a shady chiropractor at all -I've seen a few of those and wouldn't go back to them. He's the kind where you can go in when you need to. I finally found a good one I can trust! read more

I've had wonderful success with Dr. Reed over the years for various back complaints. He's a super guy and always makes me feel comfortable, and I never feel like he is stringing me along. I have upper back and shoulder issues mostly, as I've had shoulder separations from bicycle accidents and subsequent surgeries on both L and R. I'm usually in and out of there quickly, and generally, with his technique, I don't need to come back for a while. I've been seeing Dr. Tim Reed for about 18 years. He has seen me through back and shoulder injuries, neck pain and knee pain, and various other problems. I've seen other chiropractors in this office when he was unavailable and have always received the best care. I chose to go to Dr. Reed after the recommendation of a friend and after visiting another chiropractic group that I felt was trying to steal my money. I am SO lucky I found Dr. Reed! The office is like a normal doctor's office - you go into a room and meet one on one with the Dr to talk about your medical issues and get adjusted. It's NOT a huge open room filled with 30 other waiting patients like a cow farm like I've seen at other chiropractic places. Dr Reed isn't trying to keep you as a lifetime client or take your money. He will treat you regarding what you are seeing him for. For me, it was ongoing sciatica pain, hip pain and forward neck/upper back posture pain. I love the fact that when I asked him if he would "fix" me and if it would stay that way, he explained that adjustments will definitely help but if I kept my lifestyle as it currently was, I was just going to bend my body back into the bad shape it was in. (SO TRUE). So it's always a mix of adjustments and stretches on your own and lifestyle change. That showed me he wasn't just going to steal my money! Dr. Reed showed me stretches to do at home. He also gave me a fair assessment of how many visits I may need, or may not need... depending on how my body responded. I never felt pressure to constantly keep on coming back, and Dr. Reed is very friendly and was very patient in explaining to me bone motion and in general what would be happening to my body. I used to go to a chiropractor years ago regularly but haven't had a reason to until recently when my neck seized up. I went to see Dr. Jacquemound and was so impressed. He spent so much time with me and gave me good tips on stretching to help prevent this from happening again. I've never had a chiropractor spend so much time and I loved the mini massages he gave to help with the muscles. I'm also afraid of the neck adjustment so I told him to fake me out and he did! Dr. Reed is fantastic! He makes you feel comfortable from the moment you walk into his office. I've been to other chiropractors that make you feel like you are so damaged that you must visit them 3 times a week. Definately plan to be a regular here for a very long time! My daughter is a Level 10 gymnast and her body was always in pain. She was even thinking she may have to quit gymnastics.
