The salads were huge, and fresh and the dressing tasted homemade and was perfect. Clean and crisp. Janie loved her sandwich and it was so much that she took half home. The lasagna...OMG, I asked the server to find out if they cooked it in the pizza oven, as it was presented as if it came out of a very hot cooking appliance. It turns out it did go in with the pizzas, and so the cheese on top was very lightly charred and sooo good. The combination of sausage and beef in the lasagna was complex and seasoned perfectly. The pasta and the cheese combined with the meat and Parmesan really set this dish off. Served steaming hot. This was the best lasagna that I have ever had. We will definitely be back. She asked if I wanted something else, but I asked for another chicken parm cooked properly. It took a while, and I got another try at the chicken - still overcooked, still blackened, but this attempt was somewhat edible. I am not a fussy diner. I rarely send food back to the kitchen. On the rare occasion I have a problem and send something back, someone from the management team wanders by and inquires about the dining experience. That didn't happen at Bistro 424, leaving this review space as the only way to inform management of the significant problems in the kitchen. Final rating: two stars.
