Hubs was craving a burger after spending 4+ hours on I-4 driving to Daytona from Tampa on a Friday afternoon in December. As we headed east through Port Orange, he spotted a couple of national chain restaurants and I cringed inside. But then we saw Houligan's, not knowing anything about this small local *chain*, and we both wanted to give it a try. Now that I know a bit of their 30-year legacy in this area, I'm happy with our choice. My only critique is that some of the menu prices weren't current. For example, adding a side salad to my Philly cheese steak was $4.99 on the menu but we were charged $5.99. That said, it was a good size salad & worth $6. Which leads me to digress about their ranch dressing... It was REALLY good. So good that I asked for an extra cup for my Philly cheese steak & Hubs' fries (99¢). Our server mentioned that their Ranch dressing is made in-house, and it definitely shows. I'm not often a Philly Cheesesteak gal but on this night I was craving one. When our server confirmed that I could have it sans peppers, onions & mushrooms, that sounded perfect! It was fantastic! And, YES, I dipped in that amazing Ranch dressing a few times. Not sure why I didn't opt for the French Dip, but I'll definitely consider that sandwich on another visit. I chose mashed potatoes as my side, and they were absolutely incredible. Hubs ordered a burger with mushrooms & loved it. We also split a side salad, which is how I discovered that Ranch dressing. IT WAS SO GOOD. Realistically, I'm not sure when we'll be able to visit another Houligan's but I hope we can. We do pop over to Daytona occasionally but usually on the way to Jacksonville or on the way home to Tampa - not really to eat. But now that we know about Houligan's, and hubs still wants to try their Wally Wings, we may plan a future route just so we can visit again. read more

Stopped in for lunch today after an appointment. Walking in we were greeted right away and sat. Our waitress was friendly & informative, quick to order. We started with Fried pickles as hubby likes to try them at different places. Unfortunately, they came out over cooked and soaked with grease. Super crunchy. We mentioned it to the waitress and she immediately took them back and sent for a new batch which was nice of her to do. Our meal came out and we were very happy with everything else. I ordered the Club sandwich- great portion size and tasted fresh. Hubby got the Buffalo Chx Wrap and he was happy with it as well. We also ordered Teriyaki wings which were cooked perfect. Super wet sauce and not over cooked. Never had a chance to order food. Came in on. Tuesday 6:30 with 9 people. Was told it would be a 20 min. Wait. No problem. 9 people expect that. 15 mins into the 20 min wait. Hostess comes out does not look at any of us. The wait is now 40 mins more. Says manager told her if we did not like it we could find somewhere else to eat. How in the world could anyone in management say that to customers. My family and I have been going to Houligans for 20 years. Have had birthday parties. 2 high school graduation parties​ at different locations . I can tell you no one in my family will ever walk into one of these restaurants again. I always order to go from here. You basically drive up and they bring out to your car. I recommend ordering online if you order to go from this location. I love the Teriyaki Garlic Wally Wings with seasoned fries. I ordered the sampler recently for the first time and it was fresh and hot. I did sub extra tenders instead of mozzarella sticks cause to go mozzarella sticks would not have been good. Overall I recommend this location! read more

These wings are just the best. They offer so many ways to order, all drummies, crispy, wet Wally. They are great every time, very consistent. Moz sticks fine but what do you want with food service moz sticks. They didn't cook all the cheese out, they did great with a basic product. The wings are what shines here. The bartender girls were the worst though, just didn't want to be there or were trying to be cool or whatever, not great. I tipped $5 on a $40 tab- cash, lowest tip I've given in decades. There is nothing worse in my humble opinion when you are seated you wait and wait for your server even to acknowledge your existence. Our server, Reed, needs to find another means of employment. After what seemed an eternity he came to our table. He didn't seem like he wanted to be there. I had to continually remind him of my beer order. When the food came it was cold. My wife's patty melt came without any sautéd onions. I asked server what was on a patty melt. He told me tomato and lettuce. He was clueless. No apology. I had to ask him to return to kitchen and make it right. I watched as he just wandered around, having only three tables. It would have been nice if he once checked on us. I see on here many complaints of poor service. My hope management reviews these reviews and make adjustments. My wife told I was too critical but it's not cheap to dine out and I have high expectations of my server taking care of the customers. read more

Late night snack of their yummy wings. Skin was crispy, but meat was perfectly cooked and moist. We got hot and I would compare it to more of a medium, but mild at a few other places. The wings were a good size. The only thing I found weird was we only had 2 flats and rest were drums. Normally it's about even at other places unless you specifically ask for one only. Sitting out the bar in the evening was nice as they had some major fans going, but let's remind you that it was after 9pm. Server/bartender was on point. Went to hooligans for Saint Paddy's day. Extremely crowded but weight was really not long considering we had 10 people. Service was quick menu was pretty diverse. Appetizers of buffalo shrimp, fried pickle, chips, and soft pretzels were delicious. We ordered the special corn beef and cabbage, shepherds, pie, and Guinness stew. Did not like the Guinness stew at all, too much thyme and came out lukewarm. Shepherds pie was nothing to write home about and the corn beef must have been boiled for a very very long time because it was very tough. Others in our party got a patty melt which they said was OK, a chicken, Caesar wrap and meatloaf. They all said it was just average. However, everybody enjoyed the brownie sundae. Seems like a fun place for drinks and appetizers but the food was not too great. read more

I had one of the worst customer service experiences at Houligan's Port Orange (1396 Dunlawton Ave). On February 12, 2025, I ordered food that was completely unacceptable in quality. I immediately called the restaurant and spoke with an employee named Angel, who assured me they would fix the issue and asked me to come back. On February 14, 2025, before returning, I called ahead to confirm. Angel answered and transferred me to General Manager Sara, and that's where things took a turn for the worse. Instead of resolving the issue professionally, Sara was rude, dismissive, and accusatory--implying that I was making unnecessary complaints. She lacked basic customer service skills, refused to take accountability, and made me feel completely undervalued as a customer. As a first-time customer, this was a terrible impression. Management should be helpful and solution-oriented, but Sara only made the situation more frustrating. If this is how they treat paying customers, I won't be returning, and I encourage others to think twice before dining here. I strongly urge corporate to take action and replace Sara with someone who understands professionalism and customer care. read more

Our waitress was outstanding with attentiveness. Her personality was people oriented and pleasing not only to the two of us but the table next to us, checking for dining satisfaction. Doreen gives the kind of service that many places have fallen short of-she truly takes care of her customers. We left 100% satisfied with our meals ( Wally's of course) and Doreen 's service. If you want shitty service, false advertisement, and slightly above average food go on down to Houligans. I'm a local in the area that has had their LAST bad experience at Houligans. First bad experience was caused by some brunette waitress that acted like she was gods gift to the service industry. Sarcasm, dirty looks, attitude galore. 2nd bad experience was due to the EXTREMELY socially awkward tall male server. I stopped wanting him to come back to the table because of the shivers each interaction with him sent down my spine. It took an hour and 28 minutes of being there to get our wings. Now, this was on a Monday which at Houligans is "bogo wings". THIS IS FALS ADVERTISING. It should be called spend 15 dollars and get 6 free wings. The managers don't care enough to explain this properly to the waiters so that they are unable to properly explain it to their customers. I thought I ordered 10 wings and was going to get 10 wings free. The awkward waiter seemed like everything was okay and took my order. Later to find out I don't get any wings free and have to pay 34 dollars for my meal(that I waited an hour and a half for). Apparently you can only do the bogo with 6 wings, something the awkward waiter didn't care to bring up. Told him to get his manager and then I was let in on the Ponzi scheme of a deal they run over there on Mondays. If I was told before I went that I would be there for 2 hours and spend 34 dollars, I wouldn't have gone. read more

Wow, this restaurant has great service, food, atmosphere. I got the Cobb salad which were definitely filling, two days in a row, then I tried the Philly cheesesteak which was wonderful.
