Was told that this fee applies to all jobs, large and small. We live less than five miles from Pittman's office, and evaluation took about 10 minutes ... but we still get the same fee as for million-dollar homes surrounding the area's posh lake communities? Does not sound reasonable or fair. Guess we need a new electrician for those annual maintenance calls and major equipment installs, since Pittman doesn't seem to care about retirees on limited budgets.

I call Full Air AC Repair to get Freon put in my unit. Justin came out for $110 and told me…read moreexactly what I already knew.... That my unit needed Freon. He said the Freon would cost about $750 and that I had a leak and needed stop leak and it would need to be changed to take a different kind of Freon because R22 is not available anymore. (It's available on Amazon). Anyways he quoted $2,000 to put Freon or $9,000 for a new unit. (I'm like I could get a couple of window units for cheape.) I asked him to put a duct back on that the water heater guys knocked off and he told me that he didn't have any supplies on the truck. After he left, I thought that I would consider putting Freon in myself. I went out to look at the unit and I heard a hissing sound coming from a valve. I took a video and sent it to him and asked about it. He said he could've hear anything. (The Freon that was in my unit was being drained!) I called someone else and they came out and put a new valve stem, reattached my duct, filled the unit with nitrogen to see if it would hold, then recharged my unit with 6lbs of Freon for $460. I highly recommended that everyone look elsewhere for their hvac needs. I saw these great reviews and thought I was getting some honest help. Nope!

My husband called them at 1:57pm. They called back at 2:02pm and the heat pump was fixed by 3:26pm. He first said that they would come by tomorrow (Friday) but then he asked my husband how old he was. When he told him that he was 82 the owner, James Riggins, said he would be right over! Super nice. Super knowledgeable. And very compassionate. I would call no one else EVER. These are the people that you want to do business with over and over again. Will recommend to everyone.

TIP: Check costs before you invite anyone out to work on your system(s). I found Primus's $85 trip charge to be somewhat reasonable. But the cost of Freon? Not so much. A quick check on eBay indicates these folks pay not more than $25 per pound of R22 for their Freon and then charge you the stated price of $100. When asked why, the smug response was .. "Well, that's capitalism." My response .. "Well, when you charge 4 times what something costs, that leaves the consumer feeling ripped off. So here's something else about capitalism you should know. People won't use you when they feel ripped off." My thoughts: There's just something not right about being told I should be happy about being ripped off simply because "That's capitalism". That would be why I concluded the call. I suppose the vendor subsequently decided our discussion wasn't over, so he immediately called back to lecture me, rather aggressively. I hung up. A few seconds later, he called again. I didn't answer. So in the end, the decision to not use Primus is more than justified by their absurdly expensive (in my opinion) Freon and their aggressive response to (pre)customer feedback.

My two cents - While he may not walk in the door looking like a model wearing a white dress shirt with his sleeves rolled up, he's nothing short of amazing! Technically very capable, fast, and extremely fair and honest as well - As service providers go ... he's the best you'll find. o This may not seem like much, but never once has he tried to upsell me anything I didn't need or want. o I had him do a repair at my mother-in-law's house. The original installer had been out to 'fix' the 3yr old system FOUR TIMES over the course of a year. Tired of ignorance, I called Morgan out and the system has worked perfectly ever since. o I've had him repair an ancient (1980's) system at my office - while I only needed a few more months out of it, it was good to have heat in the winter! o And later I had him replace the system at my office and at my house as well - both jobs done professionally and, I might add, at a decent discount to what others had quoted me. o Finally, I just had him out to replace the system at our mountain cabin - amazing. Did his damndest to schedule an emergency replacement to my spec and on my time (before the next day's 85deg weather hit), and never once complained. I work hard for my money and appreciate people who 1) work hard themselves, and, 2) actually care about their customers (and not just their money) ... that'd be Morgan, in a nutshell.

The second guy fixed it with an 18 cent piece that goes on the nut to the outlet valve. Easy air came out and bid an entire system for $15,000! This second guy fixed it for 18 cents then we had to put new refrigerant in it which was 2000. But alot better than 15,000. Easy air also replaced 3 capacitors before. they were out 2 weeks before my heat pump stopped working due to no refrigerant.I admit they do respond well.
