Ooooh this place is a dream! The outdoor (enclosed) patio in the winter isn't just a last resort reservation option, it should be your TOP destination. It's cozy, (plenty warm) and romantic! It was 32 degrees outside, but completely comfortably warm, inside. You truly wouldn't know you weren't inside. Any way, I've eaten my way through Inman Park but somehow hadn't yet indulged in the delectable Sotto Sotto. This might just be my new favorite Italian in Atlanta. It was absolutely delicious. Across the table (thanks to the half portion option), we tried at least 8 items on the menu! Each one was more special then the next. Our incredible server Kagen (sp?) walked us through each section of the menu absolutely perfectly. As a result we ended up ordering some of his favs from across the menu. In my photos you can see what we ordered, but my recommendation is to simply ask your server what they like and you'll undoubtably get something stellar. However the server we had tonight was one of the worst experiences I've had especially for a place that is trying to sell an upscale dining environment he greeted the table by saying (after we asked how he was doing) "I'm doing f-ing horrible I'm tired and feel like sh*t we had such a busy night last night" he was not very knowledgeable about menu or drinks and his overall appearance gave very much unhygienic he also forgot to put in our food order so we waited double the time and said that since we already had appetizers and the other table did not have any food that we could wait to order food, also just assumed how someone in my group wanted there steak cooked so had to wait for that to be redone, he was all over the place and did not check in on us very often we needed things like refills or salt pepper etc. and went without because bad service I don't think he should have been working he obviously did not want to be there he also failed to mention that the kitchen was closing so we did not get to try the desserts. There were a couple of other things but don't want a 5 page review I cannot remember his name but a taller white guy with a messy bun and tired eyes. We still left a tip because that's what you do when you go out but if he treated his other tables like he did us I wouldn't be surprised if we were the only ones that tipped. I suggest not going on a busy night to get good service I guess. My group was 4 ppl 2 couples trying to enjoy a nice double date without the craziness of v-day next time we will celebrate days before. Talk about one of the best meals ever! The entire experience was absolutely amazing and the atmosphere is very sincere and swanky. The service was also amazing. The food blew us away. The menu is primarily in Italian with English descriptions underneath. The Carpaccio di Manzo (beef carpaccio) was full of flavor. The charcuterie board was full of various meets and cheese that were flavorful. The smoked burrata was a perfect combination of flavors. The pastas are all made in house and there is no wrong decision on a meal. We all ordered multiple different pasta dishes and tried each others. There was easily no plate left with food over. We were starving and hadn't made reservations anywhere for dinner, so we rode our bikes down the beltline and just decided to try our luck somewhere in Inman Park. There happened to be two open seats at the bar when we arrived, so we snagged those. The bartender was slow to greet us, which I found surprising seeing as the bar is small and she didn't seem to be in the weeds. She also wasn't super friendly, but I guess that's kind of the norm these days unfortunately. We ordered a Caesar Salad to split - it was nothing special. Which I now find strange after dining at Fritti since they are sister restaurants and every time I have had the Caesar at Fritti it's been great. We ordered the Tortelli di Michelangelo Buonarroti and Lasagnette alla Bolognese for dinner. The bartender said that the Tortelli was a wonderful choice but when it arrived it was 10 sad little meat-filled pouches. The Lasagnette, however, was delectable. I would order this over and over again. Another semi-annoying thing was that it got to be uncomfortably hot over the course of our dinner. Being hot and eating hot food isn't the best. Loved this little Italian place in Inman park. Really cute inside standard upscale ambiance. The paper on the tables gives old school Italian but meets more upscale. The artichoke spaceship or whatever was like a paper plane and I loved it. The Negroni is also good. The tortilli was delicious with the sage butter and the chicken was absolutely delicious. Sotto Sotto is a cozy Italian restaurant that is kind of hidden. It can be easy to miss as there is no flashy sign, but upon entering the restaurant, the vibes are quite immaculate. Most people dining look like they are dressed for a classy event (I was not). It does get quite busy, so I would recommend booking a reservation if possible. The service was quite good as well. My boyfriend and I were excited to try the food because of the ambiance of the restaurant. To start off, we got the Antipasto Misto which came with some good cured meat, cheese, olives, and mushrooms. All of this paired well with the complimentary bread and olive oil. However, we were really let down by our entrees, which took a while to come out. We ordered the Linguine alle Vongole e Bottarga and Paccheri alla Calabrese. My boyfriend said the Linguine alle Vongole e Bottarga had no taste. I tried it and it tasted very clam-y if anything, but I could not taste the olive oil or garlic that was supposedly part of the dish. My Paccheri alla Calabrese tasted like a pasta with tomato sauce and no other seasoning. Maybe I should have asked for more parmesan cheese, but I was not impressed. Wow! What a night. This restaurant has been consistently one of our favorites. We've been going to this restaurant since the 1990's. Almost always we have loved this restaurant. The service was off and the food was not up to par. It was as if there was no management in the restaurant this night. Normally, operations run smoothly. While pouring wine into a glass, the waiter knocked over another open bottle and a glass of water on our daughter's lap soaking her pants, sweater, and splashing her shirt. The hostess came over with a cloth moistened with club soda -ha! Only a dry cleaner could hope to salvage this. No apologies from the waiter and nothing ever mentioned again. Not one word. Fabulous dining experience! It is a truly beautiful restaurant with multiple different dining areas both indoor and outdoor. They accommodated our large group of 8 well and were wonderful with our 8 month old daughter (provided a high chair and bread for her to gnaw on throughout the dinner). He absolutely loved the food, the atmosphere was warm and cozy (I love the jazz music they play in the background), and our server was very nice & knowledgeable. My only complaints are they're definitely on the pricy side and there's no free parking (and they don't validate). It's also very tight seating on the inside so I recommend sitting on their patio. But if you're craving Italian this is definitely the place to go. Side note... I was debating between two pasta dishes and my waiter told me they could do half and half of each. That sounded wonderful so I did it and then found out once the check came that it's an additional cost to do so. He never told me that when he recommended splitting the dish. I came here for my birthday dinner. Out of the lists of Italian restaurants, I landed on Sotto Sotto because of one specific dish. The Costoletta arlla Parmagiana. Yes, sign me up! Getting here wasn't too bad, but the parking was kind of confusing. If you're looking to park for yourself, there's a parking lot that you can park by yourself and the restaurant is right across the street. The street is off of Elizabeth St NE. So, I would definitely recommend to just park in that parking lot as it's easier than driving around and finding street parking. The restaurant doesn't validate parking, so keep that in mind. You will pay on the way out. The other option is parking valet, which is personal preference. The amount of walking in comparison is really not a huge distance. Walking in, it's a very cozy type of experience and atmosphere. The kitchen is small,they have a patio seating and also inside. There was a lot of staff when I visited. We ordered the charcuterie for starters. It was alright, I don't think it was worth the price as I think you could make a better charcuterie by buying meats and cheeses from Costco. It was just 3 tiny pieces of cheese, some mushrooms (which were the most flavorful), and a few meats. Also, the bread was limited as well, I didn't ask for more because I felt as if it would have been extra charge. For my main, as I said before, I got the Costoletta arlla Parmagiana. It's a breaded pan fried veal and then on top a tomato sauce along with some mozzarella. Yeah, if you can picture it, then you can taste it. It was good. It had flavor every bite, and it was filling. I would definitely recommend this dish if you're not looking to eat pasta. For dessert, we ordered their version of Tiramisu, the Dolce Al Mascarpone. It was alright. I think it was a bit small, and it was mostly all cream. Again, it doesn't beat a good tiramisu, but it wasn't bad. Overall, Sotto Sotto wasn't a bad experience. I enjoyed my main dish, however I think they fell flat for me when it came to the appetizer and the dessert. I did also get to try the clams that my wife was, and that was alright. I was a little bit disappointed in the dish, the pasta was a bit chewy and dry but the clams were good and not sandy. Took myself out for a solo date and tried Sotto Sotto for the first time. The experience was amazing! I started out with the mussels, paired with a glass of Sauvignon Blanc and the house bread. It was a great start to the meal. The mussels were well seasoned and I wanted to drink the broth like soup. Thankfully I had the delicious and fresh bread to dip in it. Next I got the Caesar salad. It was great, but I felt a bit overdressed. For my main course, I got the Tortelli di Michelangelo. I came specifically for this dish. It reminded me of my favorite dish from Oakland, CA's Belotti Bottega. The meat-filled ravioli paired with the buttery, sage sauce was amazing! I will be back for this again! I finished the meal with the Affogato Supreme, with pistachio gelato, espresso and a liquor (don't remember the kind.) It wasn't my favorite, but I would try again without the liquor. This place has been in my top favorite list of restaurants but after this past weekend. I need to revisit my list and adjust accordingly. I took a friend for her birthday and we were greeted with a warm smile and seated promptly. The waiter was cordial and I confirmed or asked him if there was a limit on the time that we could spend there. He said no; however, it seemed differently from what he said. We were talking and he kept interrupting our conversation. He kept asking if we were good and if the food was good. It seemed as we were being rushed because they had more people waiting because of the Ohio vs. ND game. The food was amazing as always but my food was a bit cold and I am not sure if we slowed them down with the charcuterie board or the weather was a lot colder than normal. Regardless, I wish that my food was a bit hotter. The ambiance as always, very welcoming and elegant. I am giving 4 stars because of the cold dinner and because we were being rushed. Having frequented Fritti, Sotto Sotto's sister restaurant, countless times over the years, I finally tried Sotto Sotto for a friend's birthday on a slow Sunday night. The ambiance inside was great, with moody lighting and decor that would make for a romantic date night. They also have an outdoor patio filled with plants, which I'm excited to try as the weather cools down. Our server was friendly, providing recommendations and answering all our questions. To start our meal, we were given fresh bread and olive oil. For my entree, I ordered the Paccheri alla Calabrese, a pasta dish with a tomato Calabrian chili sauce and burrata, and it was really great. A solid spot for Italian in Atlanta! I ordered the Tortelloni ai Carciofi which was good. Not too heavy of a pasta dish. Definitely tasty but not completely blown away. I adore Novo Cucina (the owner's other restaurant), and I wanted to love Sotto Sotto too as it is the closer location. However, I still think Novo is better. Other dishes I have tried at Sotto Sotto include: the Risotto Agli Asparagi, Fettuccine Alfredo, Tagliatelle alle Tre P (when it was at Novo), and the Strozzapreti alla Salsiccia (priest stranglers). I like the Tre P, and the Alfredo was also good. Nothing blew me away though quite like Novo's Tagliatelle ai Funghi. Service was good. Our waiter was knowledgable about the items and helped us decide what to order. Parking is a bit hard to find. We valeted but wanted to walk around the shops nearby before dinner. So, we got there a bit early, but though Sotto Sotto validates parking, it didn't cover the full duration we were there for. read more

I've heard great things about the French toast here, and they were telling the truth! Location and Parking Located in Inman Park, there is a free parking deck about a block away. Venue and Atmosphere True to it's name ("hush hush" in Italian) the door blends in with the facade and is framed by ivy crawling the walls. We booked a table on the patio, which I highly recommend. The patio is completely covered and the atmosphere is serene. Service Service was prompt, courteous, and efficient. Food and Beverages The charcuterie board is delicious and surprisingly filling. The lasagnette was absolutely wonderful and flavorful: pasta cooked perfectly, good balance of meat and sauce, well seasoned. My partner had the branzino and reported it was seasoned and cooked well. I had a dessert which was layers of cookies and mousse (don't recall the name of it" but it was a light finish to a hearty meal. Fantastic meal with my colleagues. We made reservations that day and we were sat pretty quickly upon arriving. It was a large party so we had to stand outside for a little but it wasn't the worst. We came on a double date and sat in the front room - it is a bit cramped especially on a Saturday night but bonus is that you can get a last minute reservation.
