The pulpo (octopus) and baked mussels really stood out as our favorites. Owner/manager came out to speak with us. My husband and I came here last month with one of my friends and it was an excellent introduction! My friend had been here before just for dessert and had been wanting to try more dishes, so we visited upon her recommendation. The ambiance is classy while not being stuffy, with business casual dress code. All of the staff were welcoming and kind to us, from the hostess to our waitress to the food runners. We shared several tapas: paella verduras, Pulpo parrilla (grilled octopus), Pan con tomate, empanadas with beef, Calamares fritos (calamari) , Espárragos (asparagus), and Patatas bravas. Everything was absolutely delicious! One of my favorite items of the night was the bread with tomato (pan con tomate)! The bread was toasted perfectly and came with garlic and grated tomato to spread on it, along with a sprinkling of greens. My typical favorite at Spanish restaurants (patatas bravas) was done very well here too, with the right crunch and tasty sauces. The perfectly tender octopus came with a side of beans that I wished to ask for the recipe for because they were seasoned so nicely! The calamari was breaded lightly which allowed the natural flavors to shine. The beef empanadas were juicy and crisp. The asparagus was cooked to perfection. We wanted to try a new tapas spot, so we decided to come here. She made a reservation online, but the host called and let us know they were fully booked for the rest of the night. The only available slot was from 6:30-8:00, and as long as we arrived on time, they'd seat us. We got there around 6:45 and had already looked over the menu on the way, so as soon as we sat down, we placed our entire order. The ambiance and decor were very nice and chill. It was a little loud, but we could still hear each other comfortably. We started with the sangria flight -- fruity and delicious. Our first appetizer was the papas bravas, crispy with just the right amount of spice. We also had the beef empanadas with chimichurri sauce, which were excellent. Next were the steak skewers, seasoned to perfection (though I do wish they offered a choice of cooking temperature). The octopus was my favorite -- char-grilled, tender, and full of flavor. We also tried the mac and cheese. It came out a little loose at first, but after sitting for a bit, it had a nice bite, especially with the chorizo. We finished with the shrimp in garlic butter and crostinis -- flavorful, garlicky, and one of our favorites of the night. Overall, this is one of the best tapas spots we've had in or around Atlanta. I've been meaning to visit this restaurant since it opened, and it did not disappoint. It is in the Toco Hills plaza, and the parking lot is huge. If you're going during a busy time, trust that you'll still find a spot. The restaurant itself is beautiful, but we chose to sit outside since it was a nice day. However, we ended up moving inside in the middle of our meal since yellow jackets decided to attack our table. The staff was so accommodating and helped move everything inside or just replace our silverware, and we really appreciated them. On to the food, it is amazing. I feel like tapas can definitely be hit or miss, but we loved it here and my friend and I are so excited to come back and try out more. The portion sizes were perfect and definitely worth the price in our opinion. Our favorites were the calamari and the gambas al ajillio (the shrimp) were so good. I also really enjoyed the Chuletas or the lamb chops, and the sauce they paired with it was perfect. My friend also loved the Sangria flight. In terms of dishes we wouldn't try again, we thought the mussels weren't for us. They were definitely huge, but we prefer our mussels to be on the smaller side personally. I also thought the asparagus were okay but wouldn't order again. For dessert, we got the cheesecake, and it was so good that my friend decided to order another one to take home. Wow wow wow - this is our new favorite restaurant! We had such a great dining experience celebrating our 8th wedding anniversary at Silla Del Toro! Upon arrival, there was a staff member standing outside holding the door open to greet us. It was the same as we exited. From that first greeting to the goodbye, everyone was warm and inviting. When we made it to the host stand, we were greeted with an anniversary wish (something I'd noted on the reservation). The restaurant is BEAUTIFUL and so much larger than the online photos might suggest. The seating options are elegant and unique. If there's been better weather, we would've opted to sit on the patio, but inside was very comfortable and the right choice. The wait staff gives a recommendation (attributed to their chef) of ~3 small plates per person at the table. We knew we were there to enjoy the outing, so we ordered 4 small plates plus one large plate, along with two mocktails to start and a dessert to finish. You can see everything we ate in the pictures, but our fave tapas were the salad (ensalada espanola) and the beef empanadas. My husband enjoyed the empanadas so much that he ordered two more orders (thus 4 total) empanadas to go. They were reheated the next day at home to keep the party going! Our least favorite item was the large plate we ordered, which was the roasted snapper. It was lacking in flavor and we had to request salt and lemon slices to the table to bring the flavor out. We took the remaining fish home and I pan seared it for breakfast the next morning along with some seasonings and a sauce I like, served with egg whites. I'd honestly order this fish to go and do my own dressing of it at home. We also didn't much care for the tortilla espanola. It was just okay but I'd definitely go for the roasted potatoes next time around! The butter toffee cake with vanilla bean ice cream was an EXCELLENT choice for dessert. It literally had all of my favorite sweet treat flavors other than a dash of chocolate. I am SO happy my husband and I discovered this place! We were in the area and wanted a drink and appetizer, and found this place online. Such a beautiful restaurant with great ambience. The manager (I think Bradley was his name), opened the door and welcomed us right in and was so friendly. Kyle was our server and recommended great appetizers and gin and took great care of us. Between the 2 of us we shared the Ensalata, the lamb lollipops and the sardines. The ensalata is award winning and I can see why...it's SO good I ordered a second one! And the lamb was some of the best I've ever had- the sauce is incredible! The sardines are also not super fishy and were very light in breading. Glad we tried them. Unfortunately, did not recognize the gins available but advised the server of my normal gin selection (Botanist) and she advised the bartender and he crafted the cocktail based on that info and did a very good job! From the food perspective we selected as a group the Pinchos, Bacon Wrapped Dates, Albondigas, Andalusian Gazpacho, Chueltas Del Cordero Ahumadas & Empanadas. New tapas spot that just opened down the road from me so I had to go check it out! The place is gorgeous and service was relatively fine, but I feel like quality really started decreasing as the night went on. We started our first round of food with drinks, a cheese board, pinchos, and bacon wrapped dates. Everything came out within a reasonable time and were delicious, especially the pinchos! Then we went for round 2 and got the pan con tomate, lamb chops, shrimp, croquettes, and another round of drinks and that's where things suffered a bit. My friend got her drink, had a couple of sips, and realized it was wrong. Our waiter apologized and sent out the right drink, but then took hers back in to throw out. We thought that was super weird since usually if a restaurant makes a mistake like that, they let you keep the incorrect item and they don't take it back just to toss it out. The lambs and pan con tomate were good, but the shrimp was so overcooked it felt like chewing on rubber and the croquettes never came out! We decided we probably wanted another dish with the croquettes so we got the albondigas and asked for the croquettes again. It took a while for them to finally bring out both dishes and after one bite of each, there was just something off about both of them which was super disappointing. Overall I think Silla del toro has a lot of potential! If the food stayed as consistent as the first round of tapas I'd be more inclined to give this place a 4-5 star review! read more

Love the fact that an upscale restaurant has opened with an outdoor patio in Toco Hills. It almost feels out of place but in the best possible way. Living in the neighborhood we had received a $10 off coupon in the mail and thought we'd put it to good use. Arriving just after 6:30 pm on a Friday evening without a reservation, we were told the wait would be about 30 minutes. They take down your number and text you when your table is ready. It only ended up being less than 15 minutes and we were able to sit on the patio. Service was excellent and everyone we encountered from the hostess to the person bussing tables was extremely welcoming. Food came out really fast, and interestingly, in the order in which we ordered it - that meant that the olives we threw in at the end of the initial order came out last when you might expect it to be more towards the beginning. A few standouts: -Chorizo Iberico: was served with a honey I couldn't get enough of, and the sausage itself was good -Pulpo parrilla: so tender and flavorful! -Andalusian gazpacho: my bf really liked this. I think gazpacho is weird. -Crème brûlée cheesecake: the best of both desserts! But didn't like the crust. It felt under baked. We didn't love: -Spanish olives: a little too acidic with the orange marinade -Pinchos: small portion and extremely dry beef For drinks, I had the Prado Daisy, a tequila cocktail, and it was flavorful and well balanced. My bf selected from among the gin and tonic "create your own" - how cool! We can't wait to come back and try more things. I'm giving this place 5 stars simply because of the ambience and service! Our server, we did not get her name unfortunately, was so so kind and sweet. She was informative about the menu and allowed me to taste two of the wines she recommended. Im rarely offered the opportunity to try my wine or drink before I order it. So I really appreciated that. We ordered the Patatas Bravas , Pulpo, and Steak Skewers. I was not impressed by the potatoes, mostly because they seemed to be potato wedges that were cut up, so it seemed more like fries with sauce. My favorite dish was probably the Pulpo (Octopus) and the white bean salad. The steak skewers were also very good and tender! They don't ask how you want it cooked though, so you may have to ask if you want it cooked through further. I would say it was probably around Medium. Lastly, I absolutely love the opportunity to create your own Gin & Tonic. I think any of the combinations listed are going to be good , I really enjoyed mine! Came here with a friend who was in town to see the sights--amazing choice! She used to live in Spain so knew tapas well, and we chose all of her favorites and one dish recommended by the waitress (Pulpo). Favorite dish was surprisingly simple--the pan con tomate, with a side of jamon iberico. A mix of flavors that just worked, and a side of garlic brought more flavor to an already flavorful dish. The croquettes were divine--I've honestly never had them made this way, in small balls with a sauce, and every bite was perfectly crispy and savory. Third best dish was the patatas bravas, which was so simple but beyond delicious. The Pulpo was unfortunately our least favorite dish, but we went into it knowing that we might not enjoy it. I have no doubt that it was prepared well, but the char taste combined with the texture, and saltiness were not for us. We left so full and had no room for dessert, but they did have a good selection. They also started serving brunch on weekends so I may have to come back for that!
