Yum YUMMYY! I really don't know where to start but I absolutely love Buena Vida! I guess thats a great place :) location, Location, LOCATION! I admire that area of Buena Vida. All the entertainment is right there in front of you. You're just steps away from the belt line. If you like to people watch, this is for you! They have outdoor seating. A fire pit. Local spots that has live music and you can tend to hear from the patio. This is by far one of my favorite spots in the Ponce area. Let's start with the service. The service is absolutely amazing. I've never had an issue here. Got my food promptly. Always been helpful when conflicted on food options. The service here is 10 out of 10. Phemonenal customer Service, make you feel welcome. Feels like a small community of people, everyone I encoutered were super sweet from servers to bartenders. Treated me like family and I love establishments like that you can get my money ANY day! I'd like to highlight someone special: Alyssa is truly exceptional. She served as my bartender on my latest visit, and I can't say enough good things about her. I look forward to coming in whenever she's working. She's genuine, fun, and her positive energy is a gem. Turning to the cuisine, I have visited the establishment before, and the food is truly exceptional. Two standout appetizers are the Gambas al Ajillo and the garlic-forward, succulent shrimp; the accompanying bread is full of flavor and serves as an excellent introduction to the meal. The Patatas Bravas also deserve special mention--the garlic aioli, chef kiss. As a pescatarian, which is evident in many of my reviews, I cannot comment on the meat options. Nevertheless, there is a noteworthy selection of vegan and gluten-free dishes available. I sampled the Spanish grilled cheese with truffle and garlic aioli--being a fan of garlic, the generous use here was particularly appealing. This reinterpretation of a childhood favorite significantly elevated the dish. Another highlight was the scallops. Although the dish included corn (which I generally avoid), I found it delicious, nonetheless. The scallops were cooked to perfection and infused with rich flavors. The chef demonstrates considerable expertise in crafting these recipes, and I have no complaints regarding my dining experience. Now, a few of my favorite drinks--though everyone might not share the same tastes. When I visit a Spanish-style restaurant, I have my go-to options. One of my favorites is the passionfruit margarita; it's so delicious, it feels like you're on an island. Of course, my all-time favorite is the strawberry margarita--so good and flavorful. It has just the right balance of not too much lime, with a subtle hint of mint--who knew we needed that? Another top pick is the 'Dragon on Vacation.' I usually avoid spicy drinks, so I had the habanero removed, but it's still the perfect blend of dragon fruit flavor in a margarita--so good. I also love a good Paloma; I appreciate its little kick. Came to this restaurant conveniently placed right off the beltline on Wednesday afternoon to catch up with my girlfriends. It's always a good time when we meet up with my friends cause the conversation and fellowship is always so sweet, however this time I'd say it was somewhat interrupted. The live music/saxophonist is nice however, it's overbearing. There's a soundtrack playing in the background in addition to the saxophonist and honestly it's just too much. There was always someone yelling over another and we had to continuously ask someone to repeat themselves. They do half off bottles of wine on Wednesdays and that might've been the one thing I enjoyed. As for the food, it was also subpar. I ordered the CRISPY PIMENTON CHICKEN which was essentially a fried chicken with hot honey sauce and that was enjoyable. The caprese salad was good but my tomato's were a bit mushy. It was our first time here & it was nice! We went for "Jazz & Wine on the Beltline." It took us a little while to get seated - it seemed like the hosts were relatively new to the restaurant but it wasn't a problem at all. We didn't eat, so we can't attest to the food - we just came for the half priced bottles of wine since it was Wednesday. It looked super good though. The saxophone player was REALLY GOOD. The snapper and coconut ceviche was unique and filling, not my favorite dish, though it's a local special. Beware, if you sit at the outdoor bar area, the seats are a bit uncomfortable (no cushion) and you will hear the music bumping! Tres leches have some extra ingredients that are not typical authentic. It includes cinnamon and peach marmalade on top, which distorts the flavor significantly from a traditional tres leches cake. Still good but different. I've been at this location 3 times, and each time has been so good. The decor is modern, sleek, and fun. I love the photo opp sight right at the door. The PAELLA!!! Hands down some of the most authentic I've ever had in Atlanta. Their menu is always delicious, and the drinks pair really well. I tend to try a new drink each time. Everything pretty much hits on their menu, so you'll never leave hungry. Our server on the last trip, Justice, was so attentive and nice! I continue to enjoy the great service and fine fare at Buena Vida. The sliced Rib Eye slathered with house made Chimichurri is always a must! The Duck Pot Pie with homemade crust is a great flavor for winter with ample pepper! I usually stick to a bottle of Spanish Tempranillo Or a pitcher of their White Sangria. Buena Vida is in an awesome location, right off the Beltline. The food here is a 3/5. Some stuff (paella) were above average and other stuff was just okay. I liked the tapas style of the menu though because we got to try a lot of different things. I got the spicy marg and it was quite spicy but sooo good. The staff here is super friendly and fun! Their patio is immaculate (5/5), which is why my rating is a 4/5. In my opinion, you shouldn't come here expecting a gourmet meal. One of our new favorite places! Almost forgot to take pics this was so delicious. This tapas bar has a great ambiance with a live saxophone player that was amazing to listen to, one of the best margaritas I've had in forever with a spicy Tajin rim (insanely good), and they're pet friendly and brought my dog a water bowl and the manager brought us an umbrella over our table, so nice. My friends and I came for brunch on a Sunday during my friend's bachelorette weekend in Atlanta. We were able to get a table pretty easily which was a little surprising for a group of 7 for brunch on a Sunday! Our server was amazing! He was so helpful and gave amazing suggestions for what we should order. He was also so accommodating whenever we asked for anything. Five stars for him! Since we were there for brunch we opted not to do tapas and instead all order mains. They were out of a couple of things when we were there. It ended up being totally fine especially as they were so accommodating about it. I got the Pimenton Chicken Breakfast Sandwich and we got a Churro French Toast for a sweet for the table to share. While I don't drink alcohol, the rest of the girls got a bottle of champagne for the table (a recommendation from our server!) and a couple of juices for some mimosas. They chose mango and lychee and all raved about how yummy the lychee one was. The breakfast sandwich was yummy. It was so tall that it's probably better to eat it with a fork and a knife. The churro French toast was great, but personally found it better as a little shared sweet treat rather than a whole meal since it was definitely on the sweeter side. The restaurant has such fun decorations. A great place to take pictures! Parking by Ponce City Market can be a little challenging with both paid street parking and garage parking. The parking garage attached to the restaurant is perfect since the restaurant validates free parking for a few hours. Definitely be sure to do that! read more

Absolutely amazing! I came here on Sunday morning for brunch and stayed for hours because the food, drinks, service, anatmosphere, and of course the fact that it's just a super cool, fun, chill spot to enjoy the company of good folks. Reservations can be made using OpenTable and there is parking available in the deck and it's validated for up to 2 hours. The space is super cute, colorful and so inviting. The staff are friendly and everyone I've come in contact has been amazing. During my last visit I had Pimenton chicken breakfast sandwich and I loved it. It came with eggs (fried but I asked for scramble which was an easy switch up) and the chicken was perfectly fried and seasoned soooo well with a jam that was just lovely. Oh and a side of breakfast potatoes came along with it and those were really good. While I've had their bottomless mimosa at past visits, I opted for the first kiss (alcohol free) drink and it was delicious. Wow! Just wow! My friends brought me here for my birthday. This place really knows how to celebrate! Our server if spelling right "Aquiles...aka Brad Pitt" was amazing! He was so informative and bubbly! First he brings a box of props for us to take a picture. If you're considering Buena Vida for a special occasion, let me save you the trouble: don't. Our Valentine's Day dinner was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. We had a 6:00 PM reservation and were seated outside in February, roughly 40 feet from the nearest working heat lamp. Several lamps were dead. One was turned on about 10 feet away -- close enough to tease us, not close enough to help. Then, five minutes later, we watched a staff member pick up a heat lamp and carry it 30 feet across the patio to place it beside another table. Meanwhile, my family (including my 10‑year‑old and in‑laws) sat there freezing like we were extras in The Day After Tomorrow. And it wasn't just us. We watched multiple couples get seated, look around at the frozen tundra, wait endlessly with no drinks or service, and then quietly get up and leave before ever being served. That should've been our sign. Drinks took 45 minutes to arrive. Forty. Five. Minutes. Then came the music fiasco: Latin music blasting from the speakers while a live musician played sax and flute on top of it. It sounded like two different Spotify playlists fighting for custody of the patio. We asked our server -- the only competent person in the entire building -- to put in our entrées early. Thank goodness, because the second course took so long that the entrées came out immediately after. By that point, we'd been there 1 hour and 45 minutes and were frozen solid. We ordered three medium rare and two medium well. The kitchen announced, "Everything is medium." After all that waiting, the food was cold. Not lukewarm -- cold. Dessert to-go was a rock-hard, overbaked chocolate tart missing the whipped cream the menu promised. The ONLY redeeming part of the night was our server, who was kind, apologetic, and clearly trying to hold the entire restaurant together. They comped part of the meal, which we appreciated, but it didn't change the fact that the entire experience felt like a live-action "restaurant fails" compilation. Buena Vida? More like Buena Nope. Save your money, your time, and your body heat. There are too many great restaurants in the area to waste a night here. read more

Location is great with lots of other spots to visit near Ponce city market. Inside is nicely styled with 2 areas to eat and a nice size bar. Drinks were too sweet for me but I'm sure they appeal to most patrons. Food was decent but I feel like it needs to be elevated based on the style and atmosphere of the restaurant. So this is a Mexican spot that's close to the beltline. Is very walkable in the area that it's in so you can definitely stop in for some food or some drinking. Keep it moving. Parking is around the area. There's a parking structure and there's some street parking around the corner. So there is parking there but they don't have their own specific lot. It's indoor and outdoor, so if it's a nice day you can definitely be outside. And if you're outside, you're definitely going to be looking at the street, so it sound like it's a really good view. But if it's a good day outside, it doesn't matter. The bar that they have is indoor and outdoor, so if you are trying to catch a breeze you could definitely be at the outside part of the bar. And it's really long and expensive so there's plenty of room. The indoor area has a lot of little nooks and crannies and I'm pretty sure to have them upstairs as well. They have rooms where you can probably rent out for more private events, so it looks like it's pretty spacious if you think about all the space that they have for events and such. It's a small place on the tapas kind of situation so you can definitely try a lot of different foods. Most of the food that I tried were pretty good. Manchego burgers - The burgers happen pretty good. They come in a slider fashion and overall they are really good and they taste very grilled and fresh. If you want a lot of food this might not be for you but three sliders is good for me. Now. You can add another slider on, because I think it only comes with two but your waitress can handle that issue for you. Berian truffle fries - The truffle fries were okay. They were pretty salty, probably because of the meat that was on them. They had pork on them and an egg but that was just the first layer. So after you eat the pork and you give past the fried egg, there was some sauce but it really wasn't anything else but regular french fries. Empanadas - I thought that the empanadas were pretty decent. They came with two in the orders but they were pretty large. Look like little Hot pockets LOL. They were flavorful. The sauce that I came. It was a hot sauce but I don't think it needed the hot sauce. But it was good on its own. Crispy pimenton chicken - The chicken was okay. His little sweet for me but it was okay. It was kind of a sweet and somewhat spicy kind of situation. But more sweet than spicy though. That's probably why I wouldn't order it again for me but it was okay. It was sweet and fried. Spanish grilled cheese - I don't know what they did with this Spanish grilled cheese but it was really good. They had the same pork. Probably that the fries had. Now they cut it into four pieces, and it was actually just one sandwich, but it was really good though so I will give them that. For the price, I wanted more. More. You added the meat for extra $4, which was okay. But it was really just one sandwich. Overall this place was a really good choice. I feel like some of the portions they give you are not really balanced. As far as what the price is that they're charging, but at least everything does taste good. If you wanted a place where you can sit out on a patio kind of deal, this will be a good spot. You can kind of people watch even though it's not going to be a lot of people watch but there is like a park that people go to that you can see. So there are some views. My brother and I just treated my dad to brunch here for Father's Day. We attended the Egyptian Khufu virtual reality experience in the adjacent building so this restaurant is convenient. The decor is beautiful with indoor and terraced seating. It's scorching hot today so we chose indoors. We took a chance on visiting on Sunday, today, at 1130am without a reservation and we were able to walk right in and get a great booth near the bar. Service from Chloe and the staff was super friendly and efficient the duration of our visit. Dad and my brother had the Pimenton chicken sandwich on a biscuit with a side of the potatoes. As soon as I walked in from the garage the hostess knew exactly where to guide me lol. We sat outside on the patio as it was a very sunny day. Most of the patrons were also on the patio, so the vibes were unmatched! I got the steak & huevos (medium well) and the cheese grits as a side. As a whole the dish was decent. However, the steak was way too salty. The salsa verde redeemed that, I wish there was more on the side. I came to Buena Vida tapas on a Saturday evening with a couple friends and it was great we got seated quickly outside which was nice! The entire staff was really nice and helpful especially because we had a coupon for a comped tapa so I'm happy that we had that accommodated!! We ordered the sangria pitcher which was delicious and generous and then just a bunch of tapas to split I thought the tapas were good but just didn't think they were the best I've had!
