Ordered chicken wings and fries yesterday and currently my kid and me are shit as dogs. Definitely won't be coming back.

I ordered two loaded potatoes with beef and they were not bad. Pretty normal as loaded potatoes go. I've had bigger and less greasy from other places. I've also tried the Jack fish which was cool, but the season salt they sprinkle on the fries is a bit too much. Recommend you ask to not have it put on unless you want guaranteed high blood pressure. Racism and disrespect towards the customer is completely not acceptable. The lady that takes the orders at this place is completely unprofessional and racist. We always call in to place an order and there is even an option to place an order online. A lady picked up the phone. We called to place an order and said we will pay on the phone. She refused us service (for no reason and spoke to us in a condescending tone) and told us we had to come in to place an order and then when we asked again she said there will be a fee and we said that's fine but that we still wanted to speak to someone else, the lady hung up the phone. Also I have found out that she has taken other peoples orders over the phone (even larger ones for 3-4 people) but wouldn't take ours. We called back to place the order and she kept refusing service AFTER she said there would be a fee if we place the order over the phone. I asked my mom something in Urdu while I was on the phone with this lady and then asked her if she understood what we were saying regarding the order as wel felt like maybe she was misunderstanding and she proceeded to say that she can understand us now that we are talking in English and Urdu. Unprofessional and I would never order anything from here again. Not to mention she kept hanging up the phone and when we asked for a manager she said she was the manager. This is the management for this place? We have been going here for years but they definitely lost a loyal customer today. I would not recommend for anyone to go here. Spend your money at a better place that actually treats you with respect. Looks like others have complained about her terrible attitude as well. I saw gyro on the sign and fish so I chose to venture in. It is counter service but to much of my disappointment, most items are fried. There were quite a few fish options surprisingly...Catfish, perch, jack fillet, salmon, shrimp, etc. I ended up getting 4 perch combo for $9.99, but requested 2 jack fillets and 2 perch vs 4 perch. The price for 4 perch and 4 jack fillets were the same. The kid at the counter accommodated accordingly and just charged the $9.99. Fried fish to me is indifferent and so it wasn't anything special. The jack fillet did have some bones in it so be aware. It came with fries and a drink, so it is really not a bad deal at all. I did get the Baklava as well for $2.29. It was decent but I have definitely had better. There is a little Turkish store adjacent to it with some unique desserts like Turkish delight and baklava clumps or sweets made with dates. A crazy story... There was a couple that had ordered a couple of family packs and they picked it up from the counter. They proceeded to a table to get it organized. While stacking, one tray flipped over. We all stared at the dude while he tried to salvage his fish. The owner (assuming) came out to the table and helped his pick it up and trashed the whole tray and said he will make him a new batch. I was shocked and what was even more surprising is that the patron who dropped it in the 1st place wasn't very appreciative. When I initially placed my order yesterday, it was with a tall guys with good customer service. I placed my order, paid for it in advance, received a receipt to pick up my order for the following day which is today. So today I go in to pick up my order at the specified time. When I get there it's other customers waiting as well. The guy in front of me got his order and upon looking in his bag for condiments he asked the cashier for ketchup. The cashier said to this paying customer, "you didn't order French fries!" "What the world?!!!" So does everyone have to eat their chicken with hot sauce? Today was our first time ordering from here in a couple of years. We went through Door Dash for the delivery. The fish, chicken, and shrimp were delicious, however, the rest of the order was a mess: 1. Our drivers said they were out of ice so our sodas were warm AND flat. 2. They were out of the caramel cake I ordered and they just gave me red velvet. No one called to ask what I wanted as a replacement or if I wanted a refund. The cake was DRY and I threw it away. 3. Excellent atmosphere here, real family run feeling. It's more apparent with the micro store attached to it which sells foreign food supplies. I had the catfish nuggets and jalapeño poppers. The catfish nuggets were out of this world, perfectly seasoned and fried. They were still succulent which is not the easiest thing to do on this thick catfish. The platter came with a generous amount of fries to compensate the overwhelming amount of nuggets. The poppers were fully stuffed large peppers that oozed cheddar cheese and left me wanting more......guess you could say once you pop(pers) you just won't stop(pets). Anyways middle eastern people run the place and I know most of them make absolutely delicious food but here it was just ok. We had a loaded gyro baked potato. I love bake potatoes and this one was ok. Never had a gyro version before. I was hoping for more of the gyro meat but it's all good. The meat wasn't as good as expected anyways. We also had their fish and chips. I did not try the fish but my dining partner said it was very good a crispy. My little dining partner had the kids chicken nuggets...of course they're regular nuggets that you can buy at the grocery store. We also got jalapeño poppers which were spicy and food. The falafel we ordered were super dry and bland. This place is mainly fried food so it's definitely not a healthy place to eat. Overall the girl that took our order was friendly. They forgot some of our food so We had to remind them. They have a little grocery store attached to their restaurant but I'm not too sure about it. They barely have stuff on the shelf. I use to love this place but my experience tonight changed my mind forever. I ordered 8 peices of chicken and a small gizzard. I went back out and sat in my car until my order should be ready. The person that ordered before me was leaving the restaurant. I went in asked if my order was ready the lady said no, so I sat and waited, while waiting the lady who ordered before me brought her food back and said she had the wrong order. She had gotten my order. Instead of immediately disposing of the food they gave her a fresh order again and wanted to give me the order she brought back. I told the lady no I wanted a fresh order. They took that same food and put it back in the food prep area and was just pretending to make a new order. I said no I dont want that same food, the people in the back closed the door and lady up front said no they are making you a new order. I should have followed my 1st mind and got my money back but I was hungry. After some time they produced the meal. But when I got home I realized it was the same plate because there were wings peices in the plate where someone had eaten the drummy and the flat peice and left the wing. Worst deep fried food! Yes, worst! I would never thought deep fried anything would be bad in any restaurant until I visited this place. Now mind you that deep fried chicken and fish can be horrible in the hands of home cooks. I know cause I have deep fried my own chicken and, well, my own dog did not eat them. But, when you go out and spend money-hard earned money- to a place that advertises fried (just about everything in the menu), I would expect the best. Huge disappointment! Allow me to explain. So, I go in around 4:15 on a weekday. Not that many people. There were two people waiting for their order and another in front of me placing his. This gave me time to look over the establishment. I quickly asses that the place is owned by a family of mid eastern decent; Iraq or Saudi Arabia maybe. There is a mini market in another room. Interesting! Shop and eat! like being at the food court but with one restaurant. But anyway, my turn to order and I was greeted unpleasantly by this seemingly older woman with a turban or cloth wrap around her head. Minus one star!!!!! For the unpleasant greeting not the cloth! Just had to clear that up! I ordered the combo meal consisting of chicken, fries, whole jack fish, and soda ( IN A CAN). CAN, PEOPLE!!!! Yes, I said it! CAN SODA! This truly is a foreign concept cause the last time I visited a restaurant that served can soda with a meal is overseas. I turn to positive and say "recycle". Save the planet! Now the dive to the bottom of no stars started with the waiting portion of the meal. Goodness the time was so long! I practically aged gray hairs waiting. Thank God they had a television! My Words with Friends phone game kept me amused. I kept hearing the old lady (mid 40's) calling out order numbers. Mine was coming up next. Nope! Didn't happen! She skipped mine and called out 4 other numbers after mine. I said in my mind "WTF" This was going well over 30 minutes and finally, as the place emptied with customers, she look at me sitting from a distance and ask for my number. She look for my order and there it was just sitting at a location that was neglected because she apparently can not multi task from phone orders, walk-in orders, etc. By the time I got my order I was so frustrated that I just walked out quickly. Now this was not due to anger but the fact of fried food science. You see, hot oil frying removes moisture out of meat and potatoes which is why goodness is in the crisp and crunchy. However, when you place the same fried food inside a closed paper bag and let it sit for awhile, the release of heat will return moisture back into food and the crispy portion goes away and is replaced by unappealing texture. Not only that but the smell of NOT FRESH fish became noticeable. This brings me to another loss of star! The freshness is definitely a question. I do not think the oil used to fry is new. Most fried food enthusiasts know the taste of new and continually reused oil. And, the fish smelled horrid. I could not eat it. It definitely was not fresh and I bet was from frozen. Like I said earlier, my dog did not want it either. So many things that makes or break food joints are on display at this place. I would not want to go back. The restaurant is clean, the cashiers and cooks are friendly. If you're from an urban background, you've likely seen this type of establishment before. The portions are fairly large for the price. My favorite is the buffalo wings and fries. Friend chicken is good also with some hot sauce. The gourmet baked potatoes are pretty good. The philly is a bit undersized but tasty. This restaurant replaced Amira's Bakery. It is in a medium size strip mall. That has a very small selection of dried goods to take home. Which looks like it includes the pepper sauce and the italian vegetable mix is included in their falafel. The menu is not as much focused on middle eastern food. They have chicken and fish specials. The fish looks delicious. They still have Good falafel but it is pretty messy. First time to try this place. I was jonesing for a Falafal sandwich and thought I would give it a try. First all of the sandwich was wrapped in a single layer Pita. The sandwich comes with Giardia (the Italian vegetable salad). It was an unusual addition. The plain one was meh. However, the hot and spicy falafel is da bomb! The addition of the red pepper sauce adds just enough zing to make this pepperhead really appreciate this sandwich! I also like the Cornichon and the Italian veggie salad. The only knock I have is the Falafel themselves are a little moister than I like, and it is magnified by the other ingredients. But again it is really spectacular! It is then wrapped in a aluminum foil cover that makes consuming them very easy. Me likes much! What I don't like much is having to buy a meal to get a falafel. I love the food! It's cheap but well made. It's a step above fast food but not quite a "sit down dinner with family" kind of place. It's a typical small business with bad logistics / take-out waiting times but the food price and quality make up for it. Even if I call in advance, I still have to wait 20-30 minutes once arriving at the counter. In their defense, they are almost ALWAYS busy especially during peak hours! A coworker brought some food in one day, but I could only grab a bite of chicken and shrimp. I FELL IN LOVE. Needless to say, here I am today. I just picked up the plate of 8 jumbo shrimp with hush puppies and bread. It was prefect. The seasonings they use make the shrimp so delicious, it's unnecessary to use anything else. As much as I would love to eat here everyday, my waist could not handle all the fried goodness! I did ask the guy at the register if an 8 piece would be enough and he said I would be alright. It is a weird rule of mine, but I won't go to a place that doesn't have customers in there, so fortunately there were plenty of people in there. Firstly, be aware there are two distinct businesses being promoted, which is reflected in this review. These can be so subjective due in part to what one values. Case in point, Milen P focused on the cooked food and I have no complaints for that sort of cuisine. Deep fried fish, wings, shrimp, etc. However, I was looking for something more along the lines of Mediterranean or Middle Eastern as it seems to be hard to come by in this area. Part of their marketing is that they have a Mediterranean and Indian offerings. Besides falafel, Soul is pretty standard in the deep-fried/pizza vein, although the meat is halal. They have another section which is actually a grocery store filled with dry and frozen Middle Eastern, Mediterranean, and Indian products. No fresh produce as of today but perhaps that's coming. The restaurant side was busy and fairly diverse. The grocery side, not so much. Of course the owners need to sell what turns a profit so I hope they can continue to grow that side of the business. More diversity would benefit this area so I'll definitely be back to show that there is interest! So, if you're looking for a greasy spoon type of joint with deep-fried goodness, this place is on point. If you're looking for something in the Mediterranean department they have some basic items for you to cook yourself. read more
