I had a strange experience at Soul Inn during my recent visit. The guy who gave me my massage, Kevin, was trying to upsell additional services while I was on the table. It felt really odd. While I was face down, he mentioned something about 10 minutes. I couldn't fully understand because I was relaxed and dozing off, and because of the language barrier. I initially thought he was just letting me know how much time I had remaining, which is unusual because massage therapists typically don't provide time updates during the session. Then he told me it would cost an extra $10 for another 10 minutes. That's when I realized he wasn't informing me about the time; he was trying to sell me more service while I was half asleep. This made me uncomfortable since I had clearly communicated what service I wanted beforehand. Why wake me up to pitch an upsell? This was my second visit; the first time, I had a pleasant experience with a female therapist who gave me a great massage, which is why I returned. After my strange encounter with Kevin, I shared my experience with my friend who recommended the place. She told me that during her last visit, she had him as well, and he tried to upsell her during her massage too, making her feel uncomfortable. My friend has been going there for over a year and has never had an issue with the other therapists, so this was a new and unusual experience for both of us. I'm glad she clarified that this wasn't the norm for the business and the other therapists did not have this practice. Tried this place out and was sadly disappointed. The staff seemed nice , but I was FREEZING the entire time of the massage. I gave notice prior that I was coming with a headache and reminded her as I try to allow the masseuse to navigate as they do. However when I told her the second time she replied I only had 10 min left , like what ? I came for headache relief and still left with one . I was surprised how easy it was to do a walk-in although they do recommend setting up an appointment. The rooms are clean but I would have liked more guidance on what was going to happen as the massuse didn't really tell me each steps - that hot stones were coming up and what he was doing next. Definitely a language barrier. Overall the massage was pretty good got rid of the pain in my shoulder. Considering how inconspicuous the place is, Soul Inn Reflexology has really banked on its popularity over the years. There is constant construction in the area and finding the place, let alone day time parking, can be a challenge for any new visitor. At the end of the day, it's a no frills massage but one that has been consistent with keeping folks relaxed and rejuvenated. They have a good number of male and female masseuses here. It may not seem obvious since the place is a bit of a labyrinth with a good number of private rooms, despite not being the biggest place. Air conditioning is a bit of a challenge, however, since most of the place is blacked out with curtains, it is fairly cool if not a bit cramped. I am all about the deep tissue and back walking massage, which is something they offer here. Most of the masseuses have been strong enough to handle my feet (#1) and walk on my back with ease. While they're popular, I would recommend calling ahead of time to ensure availability. While credit card is accepted here, there is a surcharge. I tend to pay in cash and will tip based on how good the masseuse is. I can't remember the last time I was praying for a massage to end, but Soul Inn Reflexology will forever be the place that holds that title in my memory. I've gotten hundreds of massages from dozens of spas specializing in different methods (Swedish, Thai, Chinese, etc). Never have I been so uncomfortable before. First off, I added two stars to my review for only two reasons. One, the prices are pretty cheap (most Chinese spas are generally more affordable). Two, my boyfriend who got a massage alongside me said he really enjoyed the session with his female therapist. Otherwise, this review would've had ZERO stars. What made my experience so unenjoyable is my male therapist was so rough. There were times he took the air out of me from coming down so hard on the back with his elbow. I told him from the beginning that I prefer a light to medium pressure. Every time he moved to a different section of my body, I would have to remind him to ease up. After the third time, I was just fed up. The other part that sucked was the ambiance. Lights stayed on the whole time. Both therapists were constantly talking to each other in Mandarin and laughing. A little chatter is fine to coordinate space and timing, but they were having full blown conversations with each other. My therapist's phone also kept vibrating! The lack of self-awareness is unreal. The walls don't go all the way up to the ceiling, so I'm sure people in the rooms next to us could hear all of this. I got up off the massage bed in more pain than when I came in. Just an overall unprofessional, upsetting, and absolutely dreadful experience. I wouldn't even come back here if I was offered another therapist. read more

I really needed a massage after a long week and this spot was open a little later than most. I called to make two appts and they said ok yes come in we have room but in the 10 minutes it took us to get there they said they were full. So we had to wait for about 25 minutes, not too bad. I really liked my massage. The man was very firm and really worked in my sore spots. Hurts so good lol. But it's what I prefer so I really enjoyed it. One of the best massage places in the Houston area. It is in a great location, but unfortunately hard to locate on your first visit as the parking lot is undergoing a lot of construction. I've gone a few times for a neck/back massage and they always manage to get all of my knots out. I am fairly sore the next few days after my massage, but it is so worth it as they take away the sharp pain I experience, especially around my neck. The staff is always polite and courteous and I've yet to have a masseuse that I didn't like. The prices are reasonable and in-line if not cheaper with other massage places. How dare they try to pop up, those knots in your back.. Tina (Ms. Zhang) will work your shoulder and roll out every knot that ever existed. At $45/hr. before tip, the body massage isn't cheap, but it's also not exorbitant, and on days like this where I've been working late for 6 weeks, I don't mind spending on a treat like this. My friend had suggested this place, and I'm glad I came! Glad to have found Tina. Her English is close to non-existent though, so stick to "less hard" or "more hard (it's supposed to be harder, I know)" to communicate pressure level. She's strong though, so keep that in mind. Something else that surprised me is that she near-pulled down my underwear to where it half-exposed my butt. I came across this place after hearing about it on Yelp. Scheduling an appointment didn't go as smoothly as I thought it would. The lady at the reception was a bit confusing. She didn't take my name or phone number down, only the time and date. All she said was okay, okay. It made me skeptical before coming in for the appointment. I thought the appointment wasn't booked properly. Besides that, everything went well at my appointment for a couple massage on a weekday night. We got the full body massage for one hour ($45, tips no included yet). The reception area was small. The lady took us to the massage room where we can settle in. The room had red lightings with hangers and hooks for your belongings. The two women masseuses were friendly and welcoming, occasionally asking if everything was good. They used a lot of elbow techniques that really worked to relax my some of the tense muscles on my back. I like that she worked both sides of my lower and upper back. In the middle of the massage, she used the hot stone. At first, I thought the hot stone was too hot but it felt good as you get used to it. She then worked on my legs/arms and the front of my body. She finished off with a neck and head massage. Afterward, they wiped the oil off your body with a hot towel. Everything went well and we enjoyed the massage. So I went in to the establishment , and it was quick. The room that I went was small but nice just the right size. The young woman came in and I got an hour massage that was actually 50 minutes. At the end she kept demanding " tip tip tip. " I tipped in the front when I paid before the service. I was trying to explain that. Then should understood and she said " tip more tip more you had full body massage you tip 10 more ". Just basically demanding me to tip and stood in front of the front door until I have the front. A nice place for reflexology. They say the require an appointment, but you can call 5 minutes out and make an appointment. It is one of those experience at some point you ask yourself why you are paying to be put in pain with the intense pressure, but in the end you feel great. Everyone here has always been friendly and they give you you water to hydrate post session. I have been to a couple places in the area that have all been good and this place is even above average. My only item of disappointment is we were shown to our area / room at 1:45. We laid on the beds for about 5 minutes then the ladies come in and got us position and left for another 5 minutes. Our session ended at 2:45 meaning for the first 10 minutes of our session we just lading there. It was relaxing and only $20 (plus $10 for a tip), but a little annoying. read more
