The monster steak & cheese egg rolls are CRAZY. They're massive and stuffed with so much meat and flavor that you almost don't know where to start. Crispy on the outside, perfectly seasoned on the inside -- easily one of the most unique and satisfying things on the menu. I also had the Singapore noodles, and they were spot on. The noodles were cooked perfectly (not mushy, not dry), the meat-to-noodle ratio was exactly how it should be, and the spice level had that perfect kick without being overwhelming. Portion sizes are no joke -- you definitely get your money's worth and then some. Love supporting a Black-owned restaurant that's putting out food at this level. Customer service was what to be expected. I was greeted right away to place my carry-out order, and it was ready 20 minutes later when I returned to pick it up as instruction by the cashier. As stated in other reviews, the large burrito size egg roll was good and worth the cost. Thank goodness because the orange chicken and fried rice was thrown away. There is a reason most restaurants use chicken thighs instead of chicken breast for breaded meats with sauces because the thigh holds the moisture inside the meat and not in the breading. Although a generous portion, my order was not flavorful and was mushy because all the sauce was absorbed by the breading. Inside the breading, the chicken was over cooked, very dry and hard. The plastic fork broke when trying to use it the slice the chicken. The rice was under cooked with a grits texture, also with no Asian seasoning, basically brown rice with frozen peas and carrots. Go try the egg roll and purchase extra sauce it will be enough to satisfy your appetite but go to your favorite neighborhood carry-out for better tasting Asian inspired food. read more

I love soul woks food but it's way to expensive especially to be next door to panda express and a 10 dollar plate. Service is good and personable, chef and wife owners are always there and nice, atmosphere is good, especially if u want a Lil sum sum green when u finished. 20 dollars a plate in district heights md isn't a good thing, nobody here living like that. read more

The person with tough job was the young.lady trying to get people seated wait times ran 20 to 25 minutes but she didn't get flustered when people were back and forth trying to find out when their tables would be ready. I sat in my car for several minutes before heading inside. It was insane the amount of foot traffic and customers leaving with take-out bags. There were several customers standing near the front door, waiting for their orders. But I was still greeted immediately. The service was friendly and actually rather prompt. I took my order home where my family happily dined on delicious monster steak & cheese egg rolls, chicken lo mein, shrimp fried rice and crab rangoon. These dishes sound like typical Asian fare but theirs are sizeable portions and extremely tasty! Menu items from our previous favorite Chinese restaurant had become very bland and mundane. Food: I will rate my experience on this visit. I had ordered the combination Lo mein with chicken , shrimp , and beef, the famous monster steak and cheese egg roll, and broccoli. Let's start with the Lo Mein it had this dark brown gravy that covered the noodles and meat so much that I had to hunt for the meat. The chicken and beef was cut into very thin pieces. The monster steak and cheese egg roll was crispy but when I bit into it, it deflated and only half full. It was nothing like other content creators has experience. The broccoli was covered in the same brown sauce as the noodles and needed flavor. The service was great the staff was knowledgeable, friendly, professional and had good knowledge of the menu. I had my order to go but the ambiance was good and from my observation the wait staff was very attentive to their customers. The question is would I give them another try? I saw SoulWok on IG and I said it looked like a place I wanted to visit. Well my cousin and I visited today and the food was very good. The presentation was very good and I like that they gave you the warm cloth to wash your hands before your meal, we ordered the monster egg roll, egg drop soup, wonton soup, combination lime in and the dragon&phoenix. Everything was good. But the sauce on the Dragon in Phoenix was outstanding. They also gave us the little donuts which were good. The workers were very nice. This place took the place of Hunan East, a beloved Chinese restaurant establishment. I was told that their food was as good as Hunan's but it wasn't. The dumplings were very tiny in size much like the size of cake balls. The shrimp and broccoli was OK but I ended up getting sick hours after I ate it. So I'm left to assume it was that dish. It was the only thing I had out of the ordinary. Like I said the workers were very very nice and it's the only reason I'm not giving it a 1. But I won't be visiting again. read more
