I took my FIRST EVER SoulCycle class today, thanks to a free community class they were partnering with Strava on! It was my first time at a SoulCycle studio and I appreciated how tidy this location was. They have one room of ~50 bikes and enough lockers for everyone in the class. The locker area is co-ed, however the bathroom + showers (4) are separate Men/Women/Non-Binary. This location had all the necessary toiletries for ladies - towels, shower needs, hair dryer, tampons, deodorant, etc. They have shoes for rental ($4), but your first pair is on them! The SoulCycle crew is very sweet and willing to help all newbies adjust their bike seats and pedal resistance (shoutout to Kylie and Abby). The shoes take some time to get a handle on clicking them in + out of the pedals, but you're able to unbuckle them + leave on the bike if it's too difficult. My instructor was Meghan and she had a great playlist + ample energy! While she guides us to ride to the beat of the (at times, fast) music, we are free to go at our own, comfortable pace. Please don't push yourself too hard to the point where you might overwork your joints! I really loved how safe + comfortable I felt in the class, and I felt that it was a judgment-free zone, which was very important for a beginner, casual athlete, like myself. The seat definitely hurt and I heard that it never gets easier - you only get used to it lol Overall, I had such a fun time and I'd absolutely come back to take a class!

I took 3 cycling classes at this SoulCycle. A couple of days before my birthday, I received an email informing me that I can take a complimentary class the day of it. There is a caveat to taking this offer. The employees made a huge deal about it. When I walked into class, I saw they left a greeting card on my bike. First, the instructor made an announcement about it before we started. Second, two employees came into the room with a camera and a candle. They made the other cyclists sing Happy Birthday to me. Finally, they took my picture when I blew out the candle. Besides the embarrassment, I love the class. Andrew is my favorite instructor. He has the best playlist and he's very enthusiastic. Hence, I was extremely lucky he taught that day.

I recently took one of my favorite SoulCycle classes to date and that was all because of Lamar (instructor) and the Brooklyn Heights location. I came in for an 8:30 am class. The train stop is about a block away from the studio, making it super easy to get to. The front desk staff was friendly and helped guide me through the studio since it's two floors. The class was about 75-80% full so it wasn't too stuffy yet there was still a good energy in the room. Playlist was fire and the inspiration talk was on point. I would definitely say that SoulCycle is a more advanced spin studio where sometimes the speed and choreography can be a lot. Would highly suggest Lamar's class because it wasn't too much and also he reminded you to take it at your own pace. This location has clean showers and towels for you to use so you can get ready for work right after class Check it out and if you've been to this location what other instructors class should I attend?

Great location in Brooklyn! The studio is clean and the instructors bring great energy! I went here last night for the Britney spears class at 6:30 with Marvin and he's one of my favorite instructors! This class did not disappoint! One call out -bring your own shoes if you have as rental is $4 and bring water since it's also $5

First time doing soul cycle and I was very nervous going into it. Setting up the class was easy downloading the app or just calling in. They have times ranging from 730 am to 730 pm at this Brooklyn heights location. Also different instructors with different playlist to choose from. My instructor today was Erin and I must say she did an amazing job. From the moment I walked in I was welcomed by some very friendly ladies at the front desk they definitely eased my nerves and thoroughly explained everything to the t step by step. The facility is very clean neat and organized studio is upstairs to the right, locker rooms downstairs to the left. Downstairs is so big and has everything you need from lockers to showers, bathroom, changing area. Filled with complementary feminine products such as deodorant, shampoo, body wash etc. I loved that. Once the class started someone comes around if you need help setting up your bike. Towels are provided you can bring your own water or purchase. Lights get dim then its go time. Judgment free zone so if you need to stop or slow down you can without worry. Prices are inexpensive very affordable. By the time I finished I was well at ease. I really loved my experience here I'll definitely be back thank you

My second class last night at soul cycle was amazing with instructor Nicky I had a blast. I feel like I'm beginning to " find my soul" The class was calm and soothing, very peaceful atmosphere, I enjoy feeling welcomed by the instructor and other cyclists. I felt awesome that I was notified about the switch of instructors due to the storm Wednesday evening. Hats off to Molli and Nicky who have been making my soul cycle experience the best ever. I'm so happy to be apart and to belong.

The gold standard for sauna is 180 degrees Fahrenheit. It struggles to even get to 160. It's often at 140. This is not acceptable for a sauna. I also despise when people have taken to making it into a steam room. It's f$&ckin stupid. So to members who read this. Stop with that. You want steam go to 92nd location, they have a steam room. The point is to heat your body up and get blood flowing heart rate up and recover. Sauna is not about just getting wet and sweaty. When the sauna was renovated about 2 years ago. You also got rid of the second level , why? Some people want to be up there and get hotter. Also why is the temperature sensor inside with the sauna heater. Is there a reason why it's placed there ? The sauna will never get hot enough. If the sensor is basically next to it. I remember the original sensor before the sauna was renovated was by door. And back then the sauna, never really had stupid A holes putting water on the heater. We would police that and stop them. Please fix the sauna. Fix the sauna please. Please fix the sauna

Pre-pandemic, I'd take spin classes in-studio and then in 2019, I bought my bike because I loved the classes so much and wanted easy access to them. Peloton instructors are golden, once you find the ones that resonate the most for you (kind of like therapists). When the pandemic hit, in-class was suspended, teachers did their thing from their homes and so it went for a while before the new studio opened and then it seemed impossible to get into a class, so I didn't even try. Now that I've gotten in, I cannot wait to go back! The space is huge, with separate rooms for each class. I took both a spin class with Robin and a yoga class with Anna. Check-in was seamless, and as always, the staff is informative and accommodating, from check-in to locker room and classrooms. If you're looking to buy apparel, it's on the upper level past the locker rooms. There's also areas in which you can hang out before/between/after classes. Quick tips: I was worried I'd be stuck grabbing a bike that would be prominently on camera. I had no need to worry because those are highly desirable spots and people get there early to get their place in line and I observed those were the bikes that people grabbed first. The yoga studio is small, seven mats. It's a more intimate experience and Anna, who is so lovely, got to know everyone in the class and spent significant time afterwards for photo ops in the studio.

Every single one I have ever had has always been extremely intense and will work out just as hard if not harder than you during the class. Heidi was no different. Not only was she awesome before class - helping us rookies to Rush Cycling ( which btw, is a spin class on a bike that can lean right and left, so you can get a more full bodied workout), but during the class, watching her KILL it on her bike, while motivating us to keep going, that really left me in awe. At the end of one of the runs, she left out a huge "whooooo" which as any spin person knows, is that moment at the very end, after you've wanted to give up for the last 2 minutes, but you didn't, you kept going, and now you are basically letting it all go by giving yourself a verbal high five for slaying it. It's just cool because spin instructors really work out and work out hard with you. That makes you feel like you can do it too. that alone makes me want to come back. A couple of other things: 1) If you've never done this before, you will feel pain the next day. It might even be hard to walk or sit. Factor that into your plans 2) There is parking in the area 3) Rush Cycling is on the Third Floor of the New Brunswick Center. 4) The studio has towels, butt pads you can borrow for the class, and water for purchase.

Rushcycling has a special kind of bike that maneuvers left and right as your riding. It is tricky to understand at first but after a few classes you will get the hang of it. The spinning class was taught by Paul and he pushed us HARD. One thing I didn't like was that the bikes don't have a number for the resistance level; you just turn a knob and judge it based on how difficult it feels riding the bike. My opinion is that a quantifiable factor makes way for measuring improvement in fitness levels and health. The total body conditioning class was taught by Tom and I don't want to give away too much, but the class was amazing. It truly was total body; I came away with everything feeling sore in a good way. There were two sets of each workout (which equates to a round, for me) and then we jump rope 100 times. Each set had a variety of moves, some of them new to me, and I've already done many workout videos and been to other fitness classes. The workout area was also unforgiving yet encouraging.
