This location was my first time spinning at SoulCycle and it was quite different from other spin studios I've been too. When you enter their front door you make your way up the stairs and down a hallway, where you'll check in with the front desk girls and fill out some forms. Then you can make your way down a long hallway where there are lockers to place your stuff. Just a tip, put your cell phone in the locker unless you want them to take it away from you and give it back after class. How booking a class works if it's your first time. Download the SoulCycle app or goto their website. Pick a location, pick a single ride, pay, then pick your bike. Then show up 15mins before class so you can sign the wavier form and get your bike set up. Their spin room is large enough with plenty of bikes. It was a little hard to hear the instructor over the music, maybe due to her headset wasn't loud enough. The class was good and I did work up a sweat but I didn't feel the passion and energy I was looking for. Everyone raves about SoulCycle and I was a little disappointed that I didn't get that full on experience everyone talks about. I did get it at another Soul location, were I loved the instructor and his energy. I definitely will be back here though, just to try someone else out. Not every instructor is for everyone and sometimes you have to find that one that moves you.

Very convenient location in FiDi. I always prefer SoulCycle over Flywheel because it's more fun/intense and you get more core and upper body workout. Nina is my favorite instructor as she's very inspiring and energetic. Pros: 1. Very nice staff 2. Fun class/intense workout 3. Juice press and sweetgreen just next door 4. Plenty of classes on weekdays/weekends Cons: Pricy class compared to flywheel and Barry's bootcamp that both participated in classpass program.

I love all SoulCycle studios HOWEVER am partial to the Financial District location. Here's why: 1) close to home (fidi) 2) Juice Press Downstairs 3) SUPER friendly and chill staff (in fact they go above and beyond to assist especially if your running behind!! Just call!!) --- Marcus is the best! 4) no stairs between locker rooms and class (only stairs are to get to studio/everything else on same floor) 5) lots of class times to choose from 6) space in hallway to come and go--- huge plus especially during peak hours ! 7) super spacious entry with seating area (couch) and windows to perch up on 8) again--close to home. Yes I'm being redundant but seriously, such a game changer!! Especially if you don't want to schlep your clothes around allllll day to and from work.

I've taken spin classes at various gyms before, so I was quite skeptical about how different SoulCycle would be and whether it's worth the hefty price. Thanks to the new member promo, I was able to get one free class along with a free shoe rental (call front desk directly to ask about it!), so I decided it was finally time for me to cross this off my to-do list. The biggest difference I found between SoulCycle and spinning classes at a regular gym is the bike itself. The SoulCycle bikes are clearly of the highest quality. They allow you to do a ton of push-ups, squats, crunches and other things without feeling like you're about to fall off or somehow break the machine. Another thing that stood out is that most of the class is spent off the saddle. There wasn't a focus on how many miles we've cycled or what level our heart rates have reached. The instructors just guided us to cycle at the beat of the songs (the playlist is amazing!) using super motivating talks and playing around with the lights. He gave us a few suggestions on increasing the resistance and even came around once to turn up our resistances himself during one of the longer endurance stretches. But for the most part, instructions on how much to turn up the resistance was liberally used, so the challenge was very self-driven, just make sure you keep up to the beat of the music! As for the space itself, I love the new, sleek, clean feeling! There are a good number of showers with all the basic amenities and a ton of lockers. The location is perfect for us who work in FiDi and want to take a class right before pampering up for work. Normally I don't love spinning because I find it to be too tedious after a while but SoulCycle's upbeat and positive environment definitely has me considering coming back.

I was skeptical about SC after trying spin classes at several gyms, mainly because many gyms have many other classes mixed in for the same membership fee. After trying SC, I totally see why a lot of people are so loyal to it. The fact that this particular studio is brand new adds to the excitement for me, too. Your first time is very inviting. You get a crash course about the workout, bikes, shoes, a tour of the studio etc. and a staff member stays with you to tweak your bike and get you ready to start. The classes are awesome. For those who think this is everyday cycling, it's not! Stretches, easy choreography (right/left, stand/sit), and hand weights make it so much more. You'll work your biceps, triceps, shoulders, core, and legs. Some instructors, like Eric, throw in a minute of standing yoga after you stretch at the end, too. Try it!!!!

I will admit, while I was excited to try my first soulcycle class I wasn't expecting such a great experience. Everyone was so welcoming and helpful - checking in and setting up ended up being a breeze even being a first-timer. I didn't feel that awkward "I don't know what I'm doing" feeling that I many times feel when trying a new workout class or gym. The instructor was so upbeat and energetic which made me want to push harder. I left there drenched - I think I lost 2000 calories in one session haha.

Nothing gets me pumped like this place. We all know why we're there. SoulCycle isn't like other "spin" classes. It's so much better.

Pre-pandemic, I'd take spin classes in-studio and then in 2019, I bought my bike because I loved the classes so much and wanted easy access to them. Peloton instructors are golden, once you find the ones that resonate the most for you (kind of like therapists). When the pandemic hit, in-class was suspended, teachers did their thing from their homes and so it went for a while before the new studio opened and then it seemed impossible to get into a class, so I didn't even try. Now that I've gotten in, I cannot wait to go back! The space is huge, with separate rooms for each class. I took both a spin class with Robin and a yoga class with Anna. Check-in was seamless, and as always, the staff is informative and accommodating, from check-in to locker room and classrooms. If you're looking to buy apparel, it's on the upper level past the locker rooms. There's also areas in which you can hang out before/between/after classes. Quick tips: I was worried I'd be stuck grabbing a bike that would be prominently on camera. I had no need to worry because those are highly desirable spots and people get there early to get their place in line and I observed those were the bikes that people grabbed first. The yoga studio is small, seven mats. It's a more intimate experience and Anna, who is so lovely, got to know everyone in the class and spent significant time afterwards for photo ops in the studio.

Everyone was very friendly, gave clear instructions on how everything worked and where everything is. They run a very well oiled machine over there! The only stressful part of my experience was getting off the waitlist for the class I wanted! They give you 2 hours from the time you receive the email that you're off the waitlist to claim your spot, which is great, but also stressful. I just happened to look at my email 5 minutes before my 2 hours was up and was able to snag it, but would have been extremely upset had I missed it. I took a 45 min. low impact sweat steady ride with Jess King. She was high energy, made us feel included and got us pumped up for the 45 min. torture we were about to endure. It was a great ride, but made for terrible, red-faced, sweaty photos afterwards (LOL)! After the class, you get to line up for a photo with Jess King. That goes seamless as well, as they have a photographer setup and the group's photos are automatically sent to your email with a link to view and save. Jess took the time to talk to each person briefly, which felt personal and not rushed to get out of there. I needed to shower afterwards so I could head straight to drinks and dinner. The facilities were great. The only difficult part of the whole thing is if you want to get undressed in the shower, there is nowhere to place your clothes, other than throw them on the ground in front of your shower door. That was probably the most annoying part, but otherwise, the shower pressure was great! They also provide shampoo, conditioner, and body wash and there are also Dyson hairdryers for use as well!

The instructors are world-class, fully committed to the method, and lead by example. They don't just coach; they train alongside you, pushing everyone to be their strongest selves. The passion here is evident in every detail--from how classes are structured to the energy in the room. Akin's influence is undeniable. I started taking his SoulCycle classes ~10 years ago and was immediately drawn to his intensity, music, high standards, and focus on fundamentals. I've been to over 200 of his classes, mostly cycling, and his philosophy is evident: strong foundations prevent injury and lead to real progress. AARMY has evolved far beyond just him, though--every coach is exceptional, and the team is the real deal. The cycling and bootcamp classes are designed by athletes, for athletes. Bootcamp blends weight training (like Barry's) with calisthenics and yoga for flexibility, creating a well-rounded approach. The workouts are intense, and the community is dedicated--some might find it intimidating at first, but don't be afraid. Everyone is focused on their own progress, and the atmosphere is competitive in the best way. Beyond the workouts, the studio is top-notch--cutting-edge spin bikes, a sleek but functional space, and high-end amenities in the changing rooms and bathrooms. I also love that they have foam rollers available. The multi-gear bikes were the first I'd seen, and the attention to detail here is next level. The music is world-class and always evolving. AARMY's swag is everywhere, and you'll quickly notice the loyalty--people live in their AARMY gear. The clientele mixes downtown creatives and serious athletes, creating a uniquely cosmopolitan but authentically athletic vibe. AARMY is a microcosm of what appeals to me about NYC: open-minded, hard-charging people who love the cutting edge and give 150% to everything they do. The passion here is evident; this place is a beacon of the champion's mindset. AARMY isn't just another fitness studio--it's a family business built on love, talent, and loyalty. It can be tough to get into classes, but if you're serious about training and in NYC, this is as good as it gets. Will remain a loyal client forever. Keep innovating and leading by example!

With the first class ending around 10:15am, by the time you head out it's almost lunch time. I think the earliest weekday class may be 7am, which can be a challenge if you have to be at work early. Check in is easy and staff are friendly. It gets very crowded fast trying to find a spot to sit and change shoes or get to a locker. Even worse when the next class shows up and you are trying to exit the studio and change shoes. There two single restrooms and a tight fit by the mirror once you step outside of a restroom. They offer hair ties, spray deodorant, Malin & Goetz lotion, ear plugs... fairly standard. There are no showers, but they noted I could shower downstairs at Pure Barre because they share. An employee helped set up my bike before class started. The studio felt like most crowded cycle studios in NYC. The air circulation wasn't the best and I noticed they kept opening the door every so often. A little distracting when the studio is dark but you periodically get the bright lights from the doors opening. Music wasn't really my favorite.
