I visited equinox soho for the aescape robot full body massage and it was great! Their spa is relaxing and feels like a nice environment for a massage. I like how I could control the pressure throughout and felt very relaxed after a heavy workout. Highly recommend!

I come to this SoHo Equinox 2-3 times a week before work, as it is on my way to the office. Something about biking to the gym on an empty stomach in 30 degree weather before the sun has risen makes me feel like Rocky. Like David Goggins. Like a 2013 Conor McGregor. I'm just so hungry. Being on the road when it's just me and construction workers out makes me feel so beast. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It just feels like a win opening up the gym door at 5:45am, walking up 3 flights of stairs and greeting the sleepy staff who couldn't be less interested in my presence.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I drop my stuff in the locker room and get down to the largely empty gym floor. Everyone else in here at this time has all my respect. I see 15ish people in here before me, and give them a subtle nod as if to say "I see you workin...they not like us..." I don't actually do that but in my head we nonverbally communicate this. I hop on the little squat machine that overlooks the intersection of Prince St and Broadway, pop my airpods in, and start listening to some old Katy Perry and Kid Cudi as I'm fighting for my life doing these squats. I mf love this machine, but I'm not gonna hype it up too much because then other people will start using it. It lowkey just collects dust in the corner. After getting an amazing 45 minute sweat, I head up to the locker room to shower and change. Few things have hurt my soul more than when they switched all the skincare products from Kiehl's to that brand Grown Alchemist. Grown Alchemist is hot garbage, idc. How you gonna increase my membership every year but downgrade the products? Make that make sense. FREE KIEHL'S! After risking my skin health with Grown Alchemist, I change into my button down, slacks, and dress shoes and clock into the matrix. The matrix has been whoopin me lately, but these early mornings here at this beautiful Equinox make me feel better, as at least I have done something for myself. IG @jnov_ Tiktok @jnov_reviews

Continuing my quest to work out at every Equinox in Manhattan. I took Best Stretch Ever and it was good, different from Brookfield Place with Q, but still worth the time. Then I had some time until the next class, so I shopped at the store. A cute bag caught my eye. I'm a sucker for handbags, and the Think Royln Bar bag looked so inviting that I just had to try it on. Three detachable straps! I could use the straps for my other bags. I did have a $100 gift card for joining and 15% off. So I got the bag! The only thing is after I got home, I realized that this bag also comes with gold hardware and I have several black bags with gold hardware, so I am hoping to exchange it. I love the detachable straps for my Chanels with gold hardware. At my age, functionality is everything, and the Chanels often don't have functional straps. Then I took the Bala Bangle Barre Burn class with Or Artzi and what energy! Love the music, moves and positivity! I felt the burn and will probably be sore the next day. At the end, Or gave us a meditation of sorts and told us we can have any thing if we believe. And I believe, Or, I believe!

Who calls you on Sunday at 9am? Equinox Soho does. All of this for a medical freeze.

[This review is specifically for their downtown Brooklyn location]…read more This gym does not provide a safe environment for women. In the locker room, there are chairs directly facing the changing area. This invites patrons to sit on the couch, with phones in their face, directly facing members who are changing. Three separate times I have turned around, while unclothed, and seen members using phones that are pointing directly at me (including being on FaceTime). While most members would put their phone when asked, some won't, claiming that photography is not allowed, but phone usage is permitted. To be clear: A person holding a phone up in a locker room creates a reasonable fear of recording, regardless of what they claim to be doing. This is such an egregious violation of privacy, and honestly displays a lack of common sense from management. Further, it should not be the job of members to police one another; it should be the job of management to provide a safe place for changing before and after workouts. Management has so far ignored my messages about this complete lack of respect for privacy.

I visit NYC every so often for business trips, and have always struggled to find a gym I like that supports guest passes. I can happily say my search is finally over -- I'll definitely be coming back to GYM NYC every time I'm visiting the city! They sell 1-week passes for about $170, and day passes for $40. For me, it worked out better to get 4 day passes compared to the 1-week pass, but for those who would be visiting for a week and need to go 5+ sessions, that 1-week pass would be for you. Compared to EQX, the gym is way less crowded (even though it's smaller) and has all the equipment you need! The equipment is modern and plentiful: there are 2 flat bench press setups, one incline bench press, 3 deadlift platforms, and 4 squat racks. For accessory work there's also 3 adjustable flat benches and plenty of dumbbells. I usually go around 7am, which gets pretty crowded at EQX -- but this morning even by 7:30 there were still only a few other people in the gym. Amazing!

The moment the music starts, her energy completely transforms the room and instantly boosts everyone's mood. I started going every Thursday leading up to my wedding, and it quickly became the best part of my week. It helped me release so much wedding planning stress in the most fun way. Instead of feeling overwhelmed, I left feeling lighter, happier, and more like myself again. And even after the wedding, I'm still going. That says everything. Her choreography is creative and perfectly synced to the music. The routines are challenging enough to make you sweat, but still easy to follow so you can truly enjoy yourself and let go. You can tell she puts real thought and effort into every single class. What really sets her apart is how motivating and uplifting she is. She creates such a welcoming environment and makes everyone feel confident, no matter their experience level. You walk out feeling accomplished, energized, and already excited for the next class. She teaches every Thursday at 7:15 pm at Complete Body Midtown East, and I truly can't recommend her enough. She also teaches at other locations, so definitely check her out!

Most of the equipment is old, machines like the treadmills and stationary bikes don't fully work and neither does the TVs above them. The upside, it's local, affordable and never busy so you can be in and out. Getting pool time is hyper competitive and members squat on times and you need to sit on the app to get a time. What makes this place work is staff of terrific people that make the place run. Always friendly. Always helpful. They get more than five stars any day of the week.

I recently took a yoga class here and really enjoyed it. The instructor, Moriah, created a welcoming environment, and it was a great way to stretch, recover, and recharge after a busy week. Definitely used muscles that had not been used in a while and I felt it. The variety of group fitness classes is one of the main reasons I joined. Since this was my first class, I didn't realize you had to sign the physical class check in form when you scan your barcode to enter the gym. So I received a $10charge for no show. I called and a staff member was able to help me by flagging this situation for someone who could get the charge reversed. The gym has plenty of equipment, and the amenities are excellent. The dry sauna has quickly become one of my favorite features. The locker rooms are spacious and stocked with towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, blow dryers, and even hair straighteners, which is a thoughtful touch. I'm only a week into my membership, but I'm really happy with my decision to join and look forward to spending a lot more time working out here.
