First of all, I want to say that I used to go to the parks in Nebraska city and we absolutely loved it and Parker's in Lincoln does not disappoint. The food was great, but I can't say the same about my waitress. Thankfully, she had great coworkers, especially the hostess and the taller guy that was working the bar they kept our drinks filled and checked up on us, delivered her food pretty much did everything we only saw our waitress at the beginning and the end of the meal, but I'm not gonna fault Parker's for that. We were there on 8/21 if that helps narrow it down.I gave the hostess and the tall guy working the bar extra tip but I wish could have given it all to them. This was our first time at this Parker's location. My husband and I were coming from out of town. The restaurant was fairly empty on a Sunday, but they refused to seat our party until we got there. I can understand this if it's busy, but it seems to be poor taste if the restaurant is empty. As far as ambiance, it's lots of tin, cement, and license plates. The food is pretty on par with the Ashland location. I had the pulled pork. It was flavorful, but missing the crispy smoky bits I like the most. Heard Parker's had some really great bbq. Was out and about on a Sunday afternoon running errands and figured we stop to give it a try. Wasn't super busy for a Sunday, only waited about five minutes before we were seated. Got the nachos as an appetizer. I got a bbq plate with brisket and pulled pork. Came with two sides. I got the red potatoes and potato salad and it came with a delicious piece of homemade cornbread. Everything tasted delicious. Highly recommend stopping in you're in the area! We were surprised when we walked in, from the outside to looked large, but the tables were far apart so there were really not many people for the size of building and the parking lot. We had driven past this place many times going into and out of Lincoln. I want to say we really enjoyed ourselves. The waitress looked new as she asked for help, but it made so difference to us and we offered information we thought she had forgotten to ask about. We ordered 2 different smoked meats, and asked for the 'mild' sauce. We were surprised at how good the sauce was with flavor and a mild 'kick'. They were generous enough with the helpings for us. We ate and still took food home. We had the chips and dip. The fries were ok, my preference are 'real' fries not the out of a bag type. I think they actually fried them as they were crispy. If asking or wondering if to try this place I would heartily say "yes". The atmosphere when we were there was quiet. I honestly don't remember if there were TV's, if so they were unobtrusive. We are in and out of Lincoln about once a month, but will make an effort to think of them when looking for a place to eat before going home. read more

And I'm pretty seriously disappointed. The juiciest bits were gristle. Everything else had the texture of wood fibers. Bun could be used to sand paint, very obviously left out. Thought it was nice that you could switch the sides from what they had listed from the menu. Got the mixed veggies and they were also cooked to perfection. The brisket was missing a smoke ring and was too dry for my taste. The ribs I did not care for. The chicken was the saving grace. Nice and moist with a good taste. I would get the chicken again. Two or three weeks ago we were down in Lincoln to pick something up and wanted to grab some lunch while we were there. My wife is looking for some reviews and found with some very positive reviews so we decided to give Parker's a try. We were extremely impressed with the whole experience!!! The ambience was was casual and very basic for a barbecue place. Had some nice old pictures of Lincoln in the area which I very much enjoyed our waitress, Amirah, was awesome and did a fabulous job! And the food was just as fabulous as she was! My wife had the two meat plate with brisket and barbecue chicken. She let me have a taste of each, and it was scrumptious! I had the three meat plate with burn ends, roasted chicken, and catfish. All five of the meats were fantastic! We will definitely be there again, even though we're from Council Bluffs, Iowa. The food and service was great! I got the pulled pork sandwich and the pulled pork was flavorful and tender and the bun was super soft. I also got the cheese fries and the cheese was melted to perfection and the cajun ranch was so yummy. I got the wings (hot cajun & bbq) and they were both delicious, bbq being my favorite with its sweetness and hint of spicy. I also got the onion rings which were crispy and delicious. Lastly, I got the apple cobbler and it was warm and crispy but also the right amount of ice cream and apple. My waitress was very nice and brought me lots of napkins and extra plates to keep clean. I was very happy with our visit. Our server, Angela, was very attentive and friendly. I had the BBQ chicken with baked beans and steamed vegetables. My husband had the brisket with baked beans and mashed potatoes with gravy. We both LOVED the meat. The chicken had me licking my fingers clean! The sides were good, but nothing to boast about. We ordered from Parkers two days prior to July 4th, requesting a 6pm pick-up. We knew they'd be busy b/c of the holiday, and figured a two day advance order would help with planning. When I arrived about 6 other people were waiting for orders. Most of us waited 45-60plus minutes. Several people came in after us, and for some reason their order was waiting for them. I heard the manager offer $20 to one couple b/c they waited over an hour. I waited an hour, but was not offered anything. To top it off, when I got home, our feast for 2 had barely 1/2 cup of potatoe salad (we each had a large spoonful); same with baked beans and steamed veggies. The corn muffins were underbaked. We've been very loyal customers for many years to Parkers. The only positive of this experience was the young gal who was taking payment for the food. She was very apologetic. The ribs were tender and I could taste the smoker's flavor. The brisket we had did not carry the smoke flavor nor was it as tender as would be expected. The chicken was great. The sides were excellent...the cinnamon apples had great flavor and texture which is something that is missing from other places in town that serve similar dishes. I will be back and would recommend it to anyone. For $50 we had the feast for two and each had a cocktail...not a bad price to pay. Service was excellent. I don't normally review my experiences with restaurants but I was sorely underwhelmed with mine at Parker's Smokehouse. Ordered a pickup order so I can understand how the food may not survive the trip home very well but by the time I sat down and opened it I knew I had made a mistake giving Parker's my business. The order was not only wrong but had gone stone cold, probably after sitting on their desk for over 15 minutes, (granted I was late but goes to show how pickup friendly they are), the taste was pretty bland, definitely nothing to write home about, and it was all overpriced when considering the portion size and flavor of the food alone. The barbecue sauce was really good though and was the only saving grace for the meal that was otherwise hard to swallow. It would've been pretty easy to get over all of this but the price of the food I got was not worth it whatsoever. I just feel robbed of $35 for an average meal for two.
