I used to enjoy getting g catering from hog wild but after the last experience I will never use them again. They didn't include buns this time so I had to pay extra when I picked it up. I called the store the next day and they said it should have and would credit me back. 5 days later the credit didn't come through. I called them and they said it doesn't cover the buns now and the charge stays. When I said they should have called me to tell me they changed their mind the manager then hung up. My brother and I picked up food from here on a to go order. It was ready on arrival for pick up and was also hot still when we ate at his place! They have great service, are very friendly, and package their items very well! The portions of food were good! I had spicy sausage and beef brisket for my two main courses. I also had baked beans and potato salad as my two main sides. I liked that the food comes with the two lightly toasted pieces of bread. All of this food tasted soooooooo great!!! I love the BBQ sauce here that I dipped the meats into. I also ordered a side salad, which came with real bacon bits. Great salad!!! Overall great experience here! I responded "pork" This my first time at Hog Wild and I did not understand the reason for the question. Recommended the Rib Snack Basket, say 2 ribs, but it's more like 3.5 ribs worth of meat. I ordered the 2 meat dinner with both meats being pulled chicken and for my sides I got coleslaw and side salad, the side salad was basically just iceberg lettuce with some shredded cheese and completely covered in bacon bits, didn't finish it, coleslaw looked nice but had no flavor at all to it. The toast was acceptable, the chicken really had no smokiness to it at all, it didn't feel like I was eating bbq pulled chicken because normally you can taste the smoke, not here. The sauce was ok. I've driven by this place a feet. Especially now and didn't think K it was open at first. Well tonight I saw the open sign lit up. Not a bad spot on corn husker highway. Tonight I had the loaded baked potato with double meat. Coming Fri. Kansas City, I can say that the barbecue at this place I'd pretty good. The meat is tender and moist. Not awful, not great. The meat was well prepared, both brisket and pulled pork where warm and not dry. I couldn't taste any smoke flavor in either of the meats, not even on the bark. The macaroni and cheese as well as the potato salad were nothing special. They reminded me of grocery store deli counter offerings. The sauce was very sweet and not very spicy, even though it claimed to be the hot sauce of the two sauces offered. The Texas toast was probably the standout of the meal, that's just not what I would want the take away to be if I owned a bbq joint. The staff were very nice and welcoming, and the food came out crazy fast. I have nothing but positive things to say about the service. If they could get some smoke flavoring in the meat and rework the sauce, they would really be doing something special. Three stars, we will keep looking for a great bbq spot in Lincoln. read more

By far the best bbq meat in Lincoln!!! Meat tastes like my husband smoked it at home (w/o the mess, 6-10 hrs of smoking, and the house/his clothes smelling like smoke ). I've only gone through the drive through, never been inside. Staff is always very friendly. Sides are average to good. It's not fancy, but meat is excellent!! They have a variety of bbq sauces. They are willing to give you a sampling of all the sauces, if you ask, that way you can decide on which you like best. In my opinion, the meat has enough flavor and moisture that I don't usually use any sauce or use small amount of Sweet Baby Ray's (my fave) at home. About half the time when I come here, I just order 1-2 lbs of meat and make my own sides at home. I wish they had a location in central or south Lincoln. I would go here more often, but it's a bit of a drive for me to get there. read more

We ordered the Bar-B-Q Dinner Feast for 40 people and picked it up at the restaurant. They provided everything we needed, serving spoons, plates, plastic ware, napkins, even butter for the rolls. They were very generous with the food and we had plenty! The food was fabulous! We ordered pulled pork and pulled chicken. Both were moist, delicious and perfectly smoked. My phone call was returned promptly (I had called during the lunch hour), and the food was hot and ready at the appointed time. I was so impressed! Late lunch at Hog Wild in Lincoln. Came in at 12:50, 3 cars in parking lot and 2 people at a table eating lunch. Ordered a 2 meat dinner of chicken and pulled pork with slaw and fries. My companion ordered the loaded tater with chicken. A one word summary - DRY. My dinner meats were excruciatingly dry. Requiring a knife to cut and soaking in copious amounts of average barbecue sauce. There is no way either the pork or chicken could have been hand pulled. The bark of the pork was like beef jersey. The chicken had no moisture and required significant cutting with the plastic knife to get thru the large prices of poultry. The loaded potato fared no better. Abet the size of the potato was gargantuan. Loaded with toppings and chicken. The chicken was the same as mine dry and tough. The high point was the potato skin with any amount of cutting would succumb to the efforts with a plastic knife and resisted being cut. I have been here a couple of times over the last year and it seems that they are going downhill. Perhaps it's the cooks not paying attention or the managers not overseeing the help. It will be quite awhile before I return. There are many other BBQ places in town that are consistently good. read more

Think of this more as a fast food BBQ rather than a sit down. The food is good as well as the service. I have had the pulled chicken, beef brisket and the Carolina pulled pork sandwich. I would order all three again! I have to give the tip of the hat to the pulled chicken though. I would also recommend the Mac n Cheese, its pretty good! The sweet tea can be hit or miss though. They have several BBQ sauces but the mild is my favorite. I cant handle a lot of spice and the hot is a little much for me but if you like hot BBQ than give that a try! I give 4 stars because I have had better BBQ but I continue to go back to Hog Wild because of convenience and the price. A friend and I just ate at Hog Wild for the first time. We decided to eat inside (5:00) and were the only diners at that time and we were very disappointed that the condiment station had not been replenished and was nearly empty on several items and straws. The counter where the condiments were needed to be wiped down. When we sat and reached for the b-b-q sauce both bottles had dried drippings that also needed wiped. Since it was approaching time for a dinner crowd, I couldn't believe the manager didn't have his establishment and staff better prepared. We both ordered fries for our side order and mine were lukewarm at best but I still ate them, while my friend's fries were actually cold and she refused to eat any. I wanted to say something to the manager about the fries and the lack of cleaning and stocking condiments but my friend just wanted to leave. In this day & age of COVID when everyone seems to be short staffed and businesses are closing, it's great to see a place that can still provide great food, great customer service...in a not so great circumstance! I work for Olsson, Inc. in the Haymarket and was hosting a welcome reception from 6-8pm on 6/8 and was faced with a caterer who didn't show up a little before 6pm with food for 30 people. Finally realizing they weren't coming at 6:15, In my tear-panicked state, I kept those entertained with drinks, took a deep breath and called Hog Wild. I started to panic-plead to the girl that answered by telling my story and ask if there was anything they could do (keep in mind, it was dinner time for them and they close at 8pm), she said, hold on let me get my manager...who was Amy...MY SAVIOR! She was so nice and explained even though it was only her and I think one or two others, they couldn't deliver it because they were in the dinner rush and didn't have extra bodies but she would definitely pull together a dinner for 30 for me! I WAS STUNNED to say the least, I honestly thought it was hopeless to get something like that done in that short amount of time, I honestly thought I would be ordering pizzas! She called me as soon as it was ready and I had food to everyone by 7:00pm...less than 45 minutes from when I called. AMAZINGLY GOOD FOOD. Everyone loved it! Talk about going above and beyond! 1. They were so very nice. 2. Calmed me down haha. 3. Very quickly gave us amazing food and plenty of it. 4. They even provided all of the plates, napkins, and utensils. 5. Now I hate barbecue, but It isn't my birthday, so I just got a pint of Mac n Cheese, and he ordered a three meat meal, with ribs brisket and hot links. Now we were the only ones in the drive through, and we waited for ten minutes (not a huge deal), before we got the food. Wasn't until we got home, did we realize, I got no mac n cheese.
