Went to Open Comedy night and having performed Stand-up, this is a great place to start!

Well, that was interesting. The Good: This venue is very spacious and in a very rural part of PA. When I walked in with my family they had a very large ballroom completing Cowboy style line dancing. I am not knocking it, I would totally be down for line dancing, keeps you fit and I can say it is certainly something I have never done before. The Bad: I went to see the comedian, Kevin Nealon. I last saw him in Philadelphia over ten years ago and he was amazing last time. Would you believe he did the SAME act that he put on over a decade ago? He changed some of the jokes slightly, but I was kind of astounded he put on the same act! When he came on stage, he looked very high and I have to ask myself did he go to an old routine because he was high? Any who, my family who saw him enjoyed his act. One other qualm I had was whoever was instructing the cars to park would not allow us to come close to the venue to drop off people that have issues with mobility. The owner of the place did go on stage and was very friendly and did a short routine that was very welcoming, I would recommend if you are in the area to check it out. I do not think I will make it back to Pottstown, PA anytime soon but if you are in the area SoulJoel's could be a fun outting. As always people SYOY!!! read more

So let's talk about accessibility. There was no room to move around. Craming a bunch of people into a room that had no room to move around was awful. The food was OK for what it is worth. The other problem was the first come first serve policy and the VIP pricing. There wasn't an option for VIP on the website and the tickets were purchased 3 months in advance. Also you shouldn't have a table right next to the doors where the food is coming out that is a recipe for disaster. read more

We went to Mother's Day Brunch here and the venue was beautiful and the staff was extremely friendly and greeted us and sat us at our table. They had our name displayed at the table along with another group. So the seating wasn't private to your group unless you have a party of 10. It was fine, the family we sat with was very nice. It was buffet style and the food was okay. Nothing to write home about, but we found items to eat. My Aunt thought it was hot enough. There was live organ music being played which was lovely. There's free coffee and tea, and a cash bar. The brunch was $45 per adult and requires a reservation and you to purchase the ticket upfront. I highly recommend this venue for weddings or other affairs, it's beautiful and large. I wouldn't mind coming for another event as it's easy to get to with free parking. read more

There is so many events going on! Great place to watch a comedy show, line dance, or eat dinner.

My wife gave me tickets for my birthday to an evening event with two great comedians Dave Landau and Michael Loftus and had a terrific time!!! This was our first time at SoulJoel's and it definitely won't be our last time with its fantastic restaurant and spacious event room. Can't believe that we are so lucky to have this top tier venue right here in Pottstown, PA! We have seen comedians Jim Breuer & Tim Meadows. Great shows. And most recently, the Amish Outlaws band. SoulJoel's is such a gem! I'm so happy to see the Sunnybrook ballroom thriving again. The lineup of events is so diverse and fun--you can find something for anyone! We've taken our 3 year old to the kids club dance party (such a fun time!), my 14 year old to various small business events, and even my in-laws to some comedy shows. We've seen great well-known comedians (hello Nate Bargatze!) as well as some up-and-coming comedians. The vibes are always amazing and SoulJoels is doing something special in Pottstown. read more

Pretty funny. Don't bother paying the extra money for VIP. It's a small room and you can see from everywhere. It was a waste. We'll go back. The restaurant bar area is very pretty really neat looking and I'm going to try that out for dinner sometime. Pics are from New Year's Eve. read more

AMAZING ENTERTAINMENT! While we have been there several times for various events (comedy shows, drag brunch, craft fairs, etc.,) our latest visit was by far the best. I obtained tickets to last week's Wednesday night 7 for $7 comedy show and away we went. Decided to make a real date night of it and stopped into Gatsby's Pub on premises for not only a delicious bite but possibly the VERY BEST ahi tuna nachos we've ever had. The show was wonderful, from emcee Karen Schwarz, through all the comedians. While the last two built up to excellent performances, the newcomers also did a great job. We will definitely be back. Just wanted to add, we've attended SoulJoel events since the days of the tent in Spring City. We've had the pleasure to chat with Joel. This man is a giver. He puts on so many shows as charitable fundraisers and does so much for the community. He has not only breathed life into the old Sunnybrook Ballroom but he has provided jobs and a thriving entertainment center for the local community and beyond. We don't live in Pottstown but we will happily make the trip out for many more events. Keep up the great work and don't let some small-minded keyboard warriors dull your light! read more

Awesome place to see a show and have dinner before or after the event. The location is easy to get to and parking is free and onsite. Ticket prices are reasonable, along with good food and drinks prices and selection. Lots of variety in the entertainment offerings. There is something for everyone. Every event that this venue holds is spectacular. The food is delicious. The events are next level. The community impact of this venue is far reaching the act that he books are superior talent and Joel himself is an exemplary human being. They cancelled a comedian that we bought tickets for a month in advance. Sure they refunded us for the tickets but who is gonna refund us for the hotel we had to book since we were coming from NY for the shows? Absolutely no reason given either for cancellation of the shows and no response to my email from a week ago! Will never buy from this venue again!!! Worst customer service ever!! read more
