We have seen several comedians here and all the headliners have been fabulous. A few of the opening acts are still working their way up to great others are even better than the headliners. My friends and I always have a great time and I have never had a bad seat. I recommend getting your seat first, THEN going to get food and drink. I cannot say enough about this place! From the moment you walk in the staff is great. You were greeted right away and the fact that we have a comedy club that also has other different types of events in the suburbs gives other options than just going to a regular bar. They get the best comedians and they also give comedians their start that will continue to just grow and grow from there. If you have not made it here yet do yourself a favor. Paid for 10 VIP seats for a special birthday. They seated us off to the side of the stage. The sound system did not project in that direction so we literally couldn't hear any of the comedians. What a disappointment. Don't waste your money. Had sub par food and overpriced drinks prior to the show. read more

What a FUN place! Joel has found a way around all the lockdown regs, and kudos to him for getting creative and using his noggin!!! Drawing A-list comedians under their dome, SoulJoel's is an outdoor venue that manages to block out wind, rain and snow. There are plenty of patio heaters if it's cold, but right now there's sand on the ground, so a beachy feel to it all. It also makes for a very affordable evening. Forget the usual 2-drink minimum or food requirements, as most comedy clubs hoist upon you. This is a BYO everything! Pay your entrance fee, you supply the chair, coolers, food... all welcome. So you don't have to spend an additional dime there once you get in. If you want to support more local businesses, Captain's Curbside Seafood truck was there with delicious goodies, and other local restaurants offered food to go for the show. Root Down Brewery in nearby Phoenixville supplied some righteous beer. In addition, If you want to go with a group, you don't have to lay out the money for all the tickets and wait for your friends to pay you back (or they bail out last minute). SoulJoel's will allow you to buy your tickets under a group name, and your friends can then call up, buy their own tickets and state they're part of your group. You can all be seated together. And what's even more amazing is how flexible and fair they are. I ended up with an extra ticket where nobody could go, and Joel said he will credit me for it to come to another show later in the year! How cool is that? Who does that?! This is someone who's been a customer at other venues and took note of what works and what pisses people off. And this place is doing everything it can to make for a happy customer experience! And oh, the laughs! Jim Breuer was the headliner. A local singer-songwriter started off the show, and there was an opening comic as well. But Breuer absolutely killed it! And despite a train rolling by on the tracks just outside the opening, which only added to the laughter with both comics showing off their strong improv skills at dealing with the unexpected. A covid-weary crowd was looking to laugh, and the former SNL comic fed off that energy. He said the second show would be funny, but nothing would be as funny as this one. During the show, Breuer mentioned it was his all-time most fun show, in a most unusual setting! I know can't wait to go back to SoulJoel's. (UPDATE: Joel made good on his offer to let me use the ticket at another show. We were at the Craig Shoemaker show last night, for another side-splitting experience with a comedian who made us (and another good crowd) howl. Btw, the train makes a nightly appearance and again added to the fun. It really does cause the comedian to pivot and come up with some funny off-the-cuff stuff to deal with the unexpected. Everyone, including the comedian, had a fun time. It's nice to feel "normal" again, and go out for a show and to dinner! I saw one person write a somewhat negative review about masks and social distancing. It's the same as if you're in a restaurant, and this is outdoors. If you don't feel safe, stay home! The rest of us appreciate being able to breathe while we laugh. read more

So happy to have this great comedy club nearby and love that they've basically created an outdoor space so that comedy shows can continue to happen during these COVID times. Lots of sand brought in to cover a rundown parking lot and suddenly we have an outdoor beach-themed comedy place with a constant great line-up of comedians! It's actually kinda of fun to bring your own chairs, tables, food & drinks, etc. Even once COVID is behind us, I actually hope they continue to do these outdoor comedy shows during the nicer weather times of the year. read more

I started going to SoulJoel's Comedy Club a couple nights a week, usually Tuesday evening for Open Mike (which is free) and another show on Friday or Saturday night. If you love to laugh this is the place for you! i have seen a lot of great comedians here and always leave with a big smile on my face. I usually stop in at Gatsbys, their restaurant/bar. It's kind of like a "Cheers" atmosphere. I have already met and befriended other people there. Great food and drinks. They often have musicians playing and have a trivia night. SoulJoels offers so many different events each week- bands, dancing, Bingo, Friday Farmers Market etc. All the staff are courteous and friendly. I am so thankful to have this great establishment right up the street from where I live in Pottstown. If you are looking for a fun evening out, check out SoulJoel's. you will be glad you did. read more

My husband and I went for a date night - and it was great. We had dinner and drinks at the attached Gatsby's restaurant. The food and drinks were reasonably priced and delicious. Service was excellent. Next, we went to the comedy show. All three comedians had us laughing harder than we had in a long time. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening out, and we will be back. read more

You can put chairs and a small stage anywhere. The performances tonight 4/7/2023 were well below average. Jokes weren't thoroughly thought through, jokes on note paper because they weren't memorized. Tonight was a "Meh" show at best. read more

Joel has been the king of comedy clubs on the east coast since the start of the pandemic. Started out with a makeshift amphitheater with thousands of pounds of sand on the ground and an eighteen wheeler on its side to allow comics to provide laughter. Now it's a built stage under a shaded dome with high quality speakers. The place was packed, sold out show, lots of people out of state have been coming here. It's BYO everything, so bring chairs, beer, food etc. (although there was a taco truck there when we went.) Got to meet the comics back stage and take pictures. Nice smoking area outside of the dome too. The woman and I had a blast and we'll be back for sure. read more

I have been here numerous times. In Summer the outdoor venue is awesome. Since it's cooled down they moved into Sunnybrook ballroom and it is awesome. Last night saw Mike Vecchione and he was funny as hell. Amazing story jokes that went on n on so that I couldn't breathe from laughing so hard. Best comics come to Souljoels and you can tell they all respect Joel. A fun night out for sure. read more

We saw Leah Rudick last night and the venue was a cellar-like meeting room. Unlike any comedy club I have been to before. Meanwhile, a huge, gorgeous bar and bistro immediately adjacent was wide open and empty. We supposedly had "VIP" tickets, but we were sat way in the back up against to the right wall where we got, at best, a side view. Lots of pillars, PowerPoint screens just kind of over a weird vibe and not at all what I would've expected. No cocktail service, business style chairs, arranged in the room. Excellent show last night at The Vault! Joel brought us three talented comedians who did not disappoint. He was the MC and was interacting with the audience. The headliner was Joe (Liss? Spelling). Right after the opening we enjoyed Buddy, I thought this was his show, then following Buddy we enjoyed another comic (sooo sorry- loved him but his name escapes me!) I thought it was the 2nd performers show, then come Joe! Three talented & accomplished comedians in their own right. We had a wonderful time last night. I haven't been to a comedy show in almost 30 years. It was a lot of fun and so much fun to laugh. The comedians did a great job improving w the audience. I would also like to add that our cocktail server was very attentive. If you go- The Vault is on The Raddison side and we parked on the casino side. Easy enough to get to though with the adjoining inside hallways. I'll definitely go back. I never even knew that this quality entertainment was practically right in my backyard! read more

I really wanted to like this place. Pottstown could use some fresh entertainment but this certainly isn't the place. The food is "meh" and overpriced. The food was also disappointing. Super small portions and nothing impressive. The comedy club is just a large room with folding chairs and bad acoustics. The opening act was the funniest of all the comedians with the main act being a huge letdown. I found myself looking for things to laugh at that were slightly funny. II watched management interact with guests a few times and it was appalling. Really unprofessional. Don't waste your money. read more

SoulJoel's is always a great time! The comedy shows are always top notch along with the food and hospitality that is shown. Now children are also able to enjoy this amazing place with the Kids' Dance Club and I have to say our daughter LOVED it. The bartenders at Gastby's are always so nice, they go above and beyond to accommodate everyone even when they are swamped. The venue is just as pretty as it always is, BUT with the new owner prices have skyrocketed! We hosted our Prom here. For $1,000 we got a few plates of cheese and crackers that was supposed to feed 400 people. It was never replenished when it was gone and it was cheap packaged cheeses. For $1,000 we got three trays of pretzels. They had no salt on them and there were no dipping sauces...I could've bought Philly Pretzels cheaper and better quality for the kids. For $1,000 we got a post-party candy bar. The table of candy probably cost them $200 at most! The meat was delicious, but the pasta had green beans and carrots in it and the vegetables were so salty it tasted like I was eating spoonfuls of salt. I am not the only one who is complaining about that. When I talked to many of my students they have the same complaints. We were supposed to get Shirley Temples as a drink choice, but when I went up to ask for one she didn't look pleased and then the lady told me that they ran of out cherries during the last event. I don't think we will host our Prom here again. There chairs need to be replaced a few people got splinters. It's a shame, because we have been going to Sunnybrook for YEARS for Prom. Their customer service was amazing and their food was excellent. It seems like they only care about making money and now about truly serving their guests. read more

Cheaper than a night at the movies and much more fun. You don't have to travel to Philly or Atlantic City anymore for a great comedy show. You also don't have to pay for parking or a 2 drink minimum. Just great, local fun. I've been to several shows and I can't recommend this place highly enough. It's a BYO Everything venue....as in bring your own food, drinks, chairs, etc. in the sand. Make sure you wear appropriate footwear. As it is currently an outside venue, there are only port-a-potties for use. The venue is covered by a dome to protect from the elements, but it still gets hot in the summer and cold in the winter so be prepared. Don't think twice, just grab your tickets and head over to Royersford for a good time. read more

We have been here two times, both had great lineups. I'm not a huge comedy fan, I mainly just go with my boyfriend who is a huge fan. This venue managed to get some comedians who actually made me laugh. This venue is outside in a field, in sand. There is a dome that covers you, but still has no A/C and no decent bathrooms. Getting there 10 minutes before the show started, we ended up being near the back. Despite being under the dome, the sun still burned down on it and I was sweating profusely for the whole first 30 minutes. It was very uncomfortable, the least they could do is provide some fans near the audience, or install ceiling fans or an air conditioner, especially when the day I went it was 95° out. You have to bring your own chairs to this venue, but if you don't have one you can borrow one from the venue for the show, but they only have a limited number of chairs available to guests. Upon arriving, parking was horrendous, but it was a sold out show, so that makes sense. The porta potties outside are horrible as it is summer and very hot out, so it makes it even smellier. Wish they had those portable sinks, instead of just providing hand sanitizer. But, I do realize this is an independent company & comedy lounge, and they succeeded in their job of making people laugh. Everyone in the crowd had a great time, and they had a total of 6 acts in total, and it only lasted an hour and a half, which is good timing to me. A good venue, but prepare to be uncomfortable in multiple aspects lol. A great restaurant for after your show is the Railroad Street Bar & Grill, they have the best grilled cheeses. The prices for the two tickets are standard, about 25 bucks each, so not super expensive but also not cheap read more
