Truly "custom" car Audio shop. Steve has his own custom shop and can make custom audio boxes and custom storage from scratch any Application. I have a 2021 Dodge Durango RT with the third row seats. I will never use the third row seats. Ever. So he took out the third row seats and made a custom storage box that opens and closes. Also expanding the the trunk space of my vehicle. I have been using Sound Advice since around 2005 for a few of my vehicles. It has been through a few different partners in their family forever, but I have never been disappointed in the outstanding customer service, high knowledge, help and utmost expertise from this company. Especially in the last many years. I have had a few warranty parts replaced expeditiously; parts replaced just because I am hard on my stuff lol. Drive it like you stole it right. I have had partial to full audio systems, multiple different types of alarms installed in many types of vehicles. The couple that solely owns it now. HONESTY, INTEGRITY, EXPERIENCE. Steve and Deb have been in the audio business for years; they own and operate their shop (just the two of them, no rookie installers) no staffing turnover and sell systems they are confident with. I researched an HONEST audio sales and installation shop for over a month before I found Sound Advice. Deb helped me find the right system for my son's car after a previous owner had botched the install and left behind dangerous electrical issues. Steve carefully repaired ALL the previous issues taking pictures along the process, installed the new components with engineering precision and carefully boxed up the previous stereo. AMAZING. I went to inquire about an overhead DVD player for our minivan. They Alpine video player she showed cost $749 & was listed on Amazon for $319. The lady said they don't price match because they're a small shop. She said installation would be an additional $200. This is truly one of those small businesses we should all support. These people are friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and honest. I will go here before any of those fancy smancy places, where they think Cars are Toys. Or the places that treat you like your an idiot because you don't know how to size an amp or what speakers go in what box. They do nice custom work as well as stand behind what they do. The only guys I will trust with my truck. So far i got some custom bed lighting done and had new fog lights installed. These guys really do the best work and the prices are extremely fair. The staff has also been super nice everytime I've gone in with my million questions and they've always got some sweet new toys or new products around the shop that blows my mind. I asked my fiance to get me an iPod adaptor that would work with my stock car stereo for Christmas, and she called around to several car audio places to ask for recommendations. Pat at Sound Advice was friendly, helpful and full of...well... sound advice! He suggested several different models of adaptors, including a few his store didn't even sell, meaning we'd have to buy them from a competitor! Though that's what we ended up doing, to respect Pat and his company - and to thank him for his help - I drove up to Everett to have the adapter installed by Sound Advice. Pat was as friendly, personable and helpful in person as he was on the phone, and he installed the adaptor quickly. His work was also very clean, and - as I wanted - the dash and stereo of my car still appears to be stock. The adaptor also works perfectly. THESE GUYS ROCK!! I found my way down to Sound Advice after a terrible experience at the Everett Mall Car Toys. Kevin offered to do the same job with better equipment for almost a hundred bucks less! About a month after installing my new system, the Sub-woofer blew. I brought it back to them and they replaced it with a brand new one, no questions asked. A week later.. it blew again! I brought it back. Again.. no questions asked, and this time they replaced it with a bigger speaker at no extra charge! Now the truck looks and sounds great and I will be getting more work done in the very near future. Bottom line.. These guys are pros at what they do and they stand behind their work. I did not have anything new installed, but was really impressed with the service there. My car stereo had been giving me issues ever since my battery had died a while back. (would not recognize Aux 2, which is the sound for my DVD player) I was thinking something was fried and was ready to replace some hardware. The gentleman behind the counter took the time to come out to my car and fiddle with the head unit and was able to reset it, and didn't even charge a service or diagnostic fee. Granted, it's not rocket science, but the fact that he took the time and trouble to do that when he could have schmoozed a sale out of me was very appreciated. My 92 Civic got broken into twice when I moved to Everett, so I went to these guys for an alarm system. My car has had a swapped engine from a newer vehicle with some more than interesting wiring and engine computer tweaks, but they didn't back off the challenge. While i was there they also gave me a good deal on a remote start kit, and even did some extra work to disconnect the door locks that were easily jimmied. They helped me get a clutch inhibitor troubleshot, and even gave me a couple parts for free to get it working. Also the alarm and remote brain they put into my car was having some trouble recognizing how to deal with my engine computer and they were able to sift through the brain manuals to troubleshoot that as well. I was very impressed with their electrical work. I have an intention at some point to do some custom interiors with them seeing some of the example work they've done during the nights I was hanging out with them. Thanks guys! read more

I came into Sound Advice a few months ago after a bad experience with one of the chain store stereo installers. When choosing to have work done like this, it is important to have people who possess the technical knowledge and experience to where they actually know what they are doing. In addition to having these knowledgeable technicians, you should also have people who understand solutions based on the type of vehicle that you own. Combine those two, and add the fact that they only carry high quality tested products... Well, I can easily come to the simple solution that this is the ONLY place I will ever have installing things in my vehicle. My experiences went down as follows, I had 'kids' at the chain store hook me up with the wrong type of equipment. Basically, 2 ohm speakers with a 1200 watt amp. Then, the same kids off the street poorly install everything (loose wires, bunched up...yeah) and told me certain concerns I had about location in the vehicle were no problem. Well, predictably you know how that all turned out. Came into Sound Advice, talked products first and SA told me that this amp was unreliable and the speakers didn't match the output. Looked it up online myself, and found reviews/technical info that backed up this assessment. Then, we talked location in the vehicle and they gave me concerns they had about where it was installed. Made perfect sense. Finally, they looked at how things were installed and said they'd fix the wiring and explained how this may be a problem. I swapped everything out, had them install and have never looked back! I highly recommend Sound Advice for anything you need done. I would not recommend them. I had 1500.00 in stereo equipmentput in my bmw and when I got it the steering wheel controls did not work. Insted of them fixxing the problem they gave a list of things I prob did to it . And not once did they call to ask if it was working yet . Really great experience! Was nice to have a lady around to help me. Macho techy car stuff can be intimidating for me, but Deb was friendly, knowledgeable, and took the time to explain things in layman's terms from the ground up. I got a stereo with usb port to replace my stock system and she set me up with one that was still within my budget, but would be more appropriate for my speaker upgrade down the road. They also installed a mount for my cell phone. They had the parts on hand and happily squeezed me in same day, preset my stereo and walked me through how to use it. She upsold me on car security which, as a former salesperson, I usually am jaded about this tactic. However, I'd mentioned that I wanted a removable face plate, since I live and work in urban high theft areas and she framed the conversation this way, so the upsell was appropriate and useful. I wish more salespeople understood this. Several times they mentioned that if I had any questions later that I could call or swing by and I genuinely believe that would be welcomed. BMW's are not easy to work on, I wanted everything to look like a factory install. I went to 5 different Pro stereo shops and not one promised me they could give me what I wanted until I walked into Sound Advice, this is a family owned shop that cares about their customers. Steve and Kevin are Pro's at what they do and went above and beyond to make me happy, they exceeded my expectations. A couple of years ago I had a new stereo put in my truck at another very well known business and it was not a good experience, so bad that I swore I would never use them again. When it came time to get a new stereo for our Subaru I did some research and came up with Sound Advice. Went in and talked with Deb who is one of the owners and I could not have been more impressed. She spent a good 45 minutes with us figuring out some quotes and never once did I feel any pressure to buy. She sent us on our way and told us to call if we decided to purchase from them. We did buy a stereo from them and the installation process was even more impressive. Our car has a couple things that make new stereos a bit problematic and they took the time to figure it all out for us. I got a call back a couple days later and was told that they did a little research and found a couple more things they could do for us, all we had to do was drop by real quick and they would take care of it. Have been to Sound Advice a total of 3 times, first to replace the factory radio in my '97 Grand Cherokee, the second time to re-install a stereo someone else had improperly put into another car I recently bought, and the third time today, when I went in to have a keyless entry system put in. Each time I've been there, they've been extremely friendly and helpful. I'd read some unpleasant reviews of another car audio shop in the area (*cough, CARtoys, cough*) and the problems people had getting alarm systems, etc., installed there, so I went to Sound Advice. While their prices may not be the cheapest in town, their selection is great, and their service is second to none! They do excellent work, their installations are clean, professional, and look like they came with the car, and they always seem to finish sooner than they say. When I asked about how long it'd take to get the alarm system put in my car, they said about 2 hours, but they finished in a little over one, and the final price was exactly what they'd quoted me... no upselling, no hidden expenses, no surprises.
