I called Sound FX on 11-17-21 with hopes of getting information and pricing on having an Automatic starter installed in my husbands SUV as an early Christmas gift. I was so fortunate to get Kim (the owner) on the phone and she was amazing. Not only was she very pleasant to speak with but she was also very knowledgeable, down to earth and honest. As a woman, she made me feel completely comfortable and good about trusting them with this installation. I then scheduled my appointment for 12-4-21 and dropped the car off that morning at 10am. They were completely done by around 1pm and called us to let us know we can come to pick up the car. We arrived and the car was out front and ready to go, the person who did the installation came out and showed my husband how the starter works and answered any questions he had. The person on here that gave a one star review on here 3 years ago is dead wrong. I just purchased an amp/subwoofer and if loud enough you can hear my car 3 quarters of a mile down the road. I had an Alpine ILX-207 installed by a local installer that will remain completely anonymous as they're the grim reaper of aftermarket harnesses and the bird's nest of butt splices and unconnected wires rendered my stereo to intermittently cut out, never have full functionality, and behind the dash looked like it was done by a 5 year old. Okay, that anonymous company is Automotive Audio LTD in Newburgh. But I digress. In an effort to have my issues corrected I found Sound FX in Harriman. I gave them a call, scheduled an appointment for the next day, and voilà, my whole life is better. They replaced the violated wiring harness, cleanly installed it with soldered joints and heat shrink, and while I was there I decided to upgrade the head unit to a Pioneer 7600NEX. All of this happened in about one hour. The technicians really knew their game, the owners were awesome and their inventory was well stocked. The harness looks like it came from the factory and the install was seamless. My only issue is now I want to replace the entire speaker and sub setup - but at least I know where I'll be taking it. I am not sure why Yelp doesn't have many reviews on this place in the non recommended area there are a bunch of very good positive reviews. I recently went to this store as my my OEM radio continued to let me down and disappoint me. I met with Kim and John the owners who were not only very knowledgeable but very professional and friendly. They gave advice on what they thought would be best and I had done my homework before I came in and we were on the same page in minutes. They gave me a fair price.. hey what does that mean "fair price" it means a price that I am ok to pay for quality work that they will stand behind. They beat pricing I found online and in the area and didn't be some others. They were in the middle and their pricing seemed fair to me. The install is incredible it looks like it was factory installed. The sound is amazing and I have found a new friend in the car audio business. Great people and fair prices. Stopped by a while ago waited almost 10 minutes to be acknowledged then the lady acted as if she was too busy took my name down and number and said they would call me. As I walked outside a guy who works there arrive so I asked the price for what I needed. He answered and I laughed and walked away. They are so over priced it's insane. You can drive down to the bronx and get actual custom work down for less and the folks in the bronx will beat any system they have put together guaranteed.
