Large purchases regarding things outside of my wheelhouse can be daunting lol The employee who met me at the front desk was great - with a glance he knew the size of tire I'd need, pulled up the options for brands and prices for me, explained the differences between them so I could make an informed purchase, and not 20 minutes later I was done and heading home on four new tires. Can't ask for better than that :) We won't hesitate to return next time we need tires.

Stay away from the Mavis in New Windsor. My son took his car there for an inspection and they told…read morehim he needed a brake fluid service and rear brakes. I just did the front brakes and checked the rear brakes while doing a brake fluid flush a month ago, all the pads and rotors were well above requirement, but something could have frozen up so when I did the rear brakes today. The rotors and pads were still all well above the requirements to pass. I went to Mavis to speak to a manager and was told they failed because of a score mark so shallow it would be hard to feel if your eyes were closed on rotors that were otherwise in good condition . I asked him to explain how such a shallow score mark on an otherwise good rotor with evenly worn pads could possibly pose a safety issue and he could not answer me, he said it was at their discretion. Here's a shocker an elderly woman just brought her car in for an inspection and guess what, she needed brakes too. She overhead me and asked my advise and I told her to take it to elswhere and recommended a local shop I use. I usually stay away from shops like Mavis for just this reason and always use a reliable local mom and pop shop for any work I'm not comfortable doing. Unfortunately he needed it done on short notice and I had just checked everything so I couldn't imagine it being a problem, but these franchise shops prove me wrong once again. I would give zero stats if it was an option.

I even had a slow leak that no other tire spot could figure out after charging me for new tire valve stems leaving me still with a leaking tire. These guys not only found my tire leak but charged me a fraction of what it cost me to replace the tire valve which wasn't the culprit. I believe they even sell used tires but I'm assuming that service since they do have racks of tires in the garage. These guys are my "go to" guys for tire repairs. As far as I know this shop is a simple tire repair shop, I don't think they do alignments and such.

I needed a new muffler and anyone that has had that type of repair knows it's an expensive job! Not only did Chester Valley give me a great competitive price, the shop came highly recommended and the work they did backs those recommendation. They not only saved me a boat load of cash, they did an outstanding job on my new muffler. I certainly plan on returning for tires and any other mechanical work that is within their abilities (e.g. brakes, rotors, mufflers). If they can't fix it mechanically they will recommend someone that is just as reliable. I have nothing but amazing things to say about this small shop that's been in the region since the valley was discovered by early settlers.

It's hilarious that you have to pay for a NYS inspection to make sure your vehicle is safe for the road but in all reality our roads aren't safe for our vehicles. Anyways, We got it there and they were happy to help. Unfortunately finding two matching 255/35/19Z tires for an all wheel drive system on a Saturday proved to be difficult and had to have them overnighted to CVT. Unfortunately in the world of FedEx, overnight means 4 days later but that's a whole new review. Once the tires arrived the CVT team got is up and running for an extremely reasonable price. Not to mention they didn't charge any storage fee for the five days the car was there. Kudos to not being money hungry animals! Thanks guys for helping us out!

This was the last shop to touch my car I'm a 53 year old woman and I don't know much about cars but I do know this was negligence. When I called to speak to them about this they where rude and disrespectful. Needless to say i hope no one ever has to deal with what I went through with this business.
