Honestly, I was pretty transparent that I hired the company specifically to move my gym equipment and some other tricky furniture pieces that required being taken apart and rebuilt. We even helped them take apart some of the items and moved the majority of the boxes. We paid for an entire day because this was Port Townsend to Coupeville and a ferry crossing was required. I tried so hard to clearly communicate my needs to this company but, when moving day came, the two men who showed up just wanted to do the bare minimum and actually charged me a fee for staying until 4:30, even though I had already asked Sound to charge me for the whole day. I am very frustrated with moving companies these days because it just seems like the movers get angry and inpatient even when you pay them a fair price. After horrid (expensive, disorganized, fraudulent) experiences with other movers, I was lucky to connect with Sound Movers. It was easy to schedule the move and they fit me in quickly. They were on time. We had to wait for access to my storage area, they were patient. We warned them that we live in a heavily wooded area, off a country roads, with tight turns into the driveway and, with smiles, they were game. They drove a HUGE (30ft, 36ft?) truck right to the doors. They were careful, fast, and nice. Those are benefits you usually don't get when you're moving, The fees were reasonable and they were appreciative when I tipped. I can't recommend them highly enough. Call them. trust them, tip well. Not sure which is worse these guys or Roadrunner. Both lie and tell you whatever they can to get you off the phone. This is the 3rd day I have been waiting for a pickup by these clowns and now they tell me they only service the area on Tuesday. Just another lie. This company is a joke and full of excuses. We had a shipment come in from California via RoadRunner Shipping (a professional shipping organization) and it unfortunately got handed over to Puget Sound Transfer for the final leg of delivery. When the handover was complete, we were assured that the item would be delivered on a specific day, and all we had to do was call at 0700hrs the morning of delivery to confirm. So, with these assurances we schedule workers for the following day to install the product that was being shipped. Well, that was a lie.... Flat out lie.... We did call, right at 0700hrs. We did confirm delivery for that very day. Then low and behold, we get a call back 2 hours later with the pathetic excuse that the truck was already full. Now how the hell can a worker confirm a delivery if a truck is already full??? I know shipping companies, and I know that trucks communicate with dispatch, so obviously we were lied to. When I get upset with the person on the phone about being lied to and ask to speak to a manager to complain to I get told "well, that is Erik, and he is gone until next Thursday". What a bunch of BULLSHIT. No operation with any credibility has only one manager, who just so happens to conveniently be away for a week. This company is bullshit. They lie to customers, inconvenience customers, and cost customers money and time. I rearranged my entire schedule for today to be here for my "promised delivery", and I now have to pay workers a rescheduling fee because they rearranged their Saturday to come do work for me. Do not do business with this company if you value honesty, integrity, time and money. 08.07.2014 - 1030Am follow-up to original post Got a call from Tony at Puget Sound Transfer regarding the delivery mess. Now one would assume that when someone who claims to be a supervisor calls that he or she is calling to resolve the issue. Guess again......... What I get told is that I can come pick up my package myself. Let's see, this is not a FedEx size package, and besides that, I already paid for shipping. So I counter and say "that is great... So how about you rent a truck and deliver it, instead of me having to rent a truck and pick it up", after all, delivery is what I paid for. Well, at this point I am told that I am a "low priority" and that they would not even consider spending 19 bucks for a u-haul truck to deliver my package and resolve the issue. SO how is that for customer service from a shipping company? I bet every customer in the world loves to be told that they are a low priority and that the company responsible for the problem is happy to resolve the issue by making the customer perform the actual job the company was paid to do themselves. Great job Puget Sound Transfer. Awesome customer service and problem resolution!!!! I used Sound Moving and Storage for my Port Townsend move in June. They did a great job - came out to look at what we had to move and where it was going to. The were prompt, courteous and efficient. They moved our upright piano without a problem. I would use Sound Moving again. read more

Wow, never dealt with such an unprofessional company before. They told me my delivery would be on a Friday. They called on Thursday to confirm. I called back and left two voicemails to confirm. On Friday, they claimed to have not received the voicemails and refused to deliver on Friday AS PLANNED. When I called and asked to talk to a supervisor, they said they "was no supervisor" and they wouldn't do a thing to get the shipment to me. Then, on the new delivery date of the next Wednesday, they called and tried to tell me they couldn't ship down to the end of my lane because it was too narrow. Then, when the guy delivered he was VERY rude and left it in the yard. As he was bringing it down the driveway, it almost dropped twice. Very unreliable for delivery date! Got a call saying item would be delivered on a specific day so made plans to stick around until delivery was made, however, got a call at noon stating somehow the item"was not put on the truck" , from looking at other reviews this seems to be the norm. Easy enough and generally convenient; BUT we just tried to gain access to our stuff which we have done many times before including after hours and weekends and couldn't get in; the door wouldn't unlock. Our account is in good standing. Sound moving did a great job helping us move. A potentially stressful time was turned into an enjoyable experience! Great moving company!

They took out my fence with a delivery. I called the owner about fixing it and he said because I helped the driver backing up he would not repair it. To be fair I did help the driver and the trailer got through the fence opening fine but the cab (not in my sight, driver's mirrors) took out the fence.
