Got 2 6x9's put in along with a 4 channel amp to run my speakers up front. Installation only took an hour even though they had to run all new wire to the back AND cut out the holes for the 6x9's since my bone stock Honda didn't even have cutouts. So I was looking for installation for my sub and called around other stores to get an estimate. I called Sound System Plus to get an estimate and I thought it was a great deal compared to the other stores I called. A big plus for me was that Sound System Plus was 5 minutes away and it was very convenient. I walked inside and met Brian who I talked on the phone with about the estimate. I told him what I already had in my car and he knew exactly what I was looking for. He knew what gauge wire I already had in mind before could even tell him. Customer service was great (which is a big plus) and there is a little waiting room where I was able to hang out in and watch TV while they installed my needed accessories. There's fairly good amount of parking at the store and it's easy to find. If you get hungry while you're waiting, there's a Subway Sandwich shop and a Jack in a Box. I would recommend these guys. I will definitely comeback to this place again if I ever needed anything upgraded. read more

I had a hard time deciding whether to give this place 3 stars or 5, when simple math finally kicked in and made me give this place a 4. Maybe it was because I came in on a super-slow, super-boring day, but customer service was nearly nonexistent. Not even a hello? Damn! After walking around, looking dumb, someone finally said hi. but she didn't even ask if I needed any help. DAMN! Before leaving, I noticed an older Alpine V12 amp that I wanted back like 5 years ago. It was missing a cosmetic piece of metal, and the guy that I talked to said that I wouldn't be able to use it without some controller. He said that since I'd pretty much be hooking it up and be stuck with whatever settings were on it before, he sold it to me for a C-note. After scouring the Alpine USA site for the manual, I found out that I can control everything from the hidden panel. The controller the salesman spoke of is for remote controlling. Who needs that? So 3 stars for the crappy-ish service, and 5 stars for getting a pretty damn good deal. 3+5=8/2=4 4 Stars sounds about right. read more

My dad and I came here to get the van speaker fixed. It was a super quick service. They did what they needed to do and got the job done. The car speaker sound so much better now that it is fixed. The two male were super helpful and did make a conversation so it was super awkward as he was fixing the speaker. I watched them as they took apart the car and everything was put back the way it was suppose to be and neat and clean. Didn't change or break anything. Very professional. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE They installed my "new" alarm, and they said they didn't have the cable to charge the LCD alarm fob. They said I had to come back to pick it up a week later. I didn't want to be a pain in the ass, so I let it slide. Then I looked in the box, and I don't even have the manual. So, I'm missing the plug to charge the Viper LCD fob and missing a manual. Started to feel uneasy about this place. Maybe it was a refurb?? I come back the next day and I get an attitude for coming back earlier. I said if you're selling me a NEW alarm, why the hell is it missing? Owner makes a call then says he doesn't know what's going on. He'll try to get me a plug. I told him I'm also missing the manual. Add insult to injury, I have to bring my car back because they didn't hook up my factory horn to the alarm. Next day owner got me the manual and cable, and hooked up the factory horn. One month later, this piece of shit alarm is now dead. Both remotes are no longer communicating to the brain, so my alarm is not working. Now, I have to come back to this place to see what other bs they're going to tell me or blame me for the failure. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. read more

A friend recommended this place but I was a little skeptical since the reviews weren't that great, but I found out there was a recent change in ownership; which explains a lot about the mixed reviews from before and now... Anywho, long story short I came expecting the bare minium customer service, but to my surprise the employees are super nice and knew their stuff! I was kind of blown away since my pervious perception of places like these from my sjsu days are the employees are straight sharks! But that wasnt the case here. Great customer service and fair prices. Straight to the point, with "out the door" type prices, not like other places I have been to that try to add on taxes and material fees etc. after quoting a price "for the unit". I walked in and was immediately greeted by Sam and Mario. Sam seems to be the owner and Mario and the installer. After a bit of back and forth with items I wanted and needed, Sam gave me a price that I double checked online and once I factored in installation time/price I decided to get the installation done. After a couple hours of sitting on the couch and watching tv, Mario says he's done and wants to show me how everything works. I am happy to say that I am very pleased with what I got especially after a couple places said a double din unit wouldn't fit in my car. I will definitely be back to get the sub and amp later on. I showed up a few minutes after they opened and was helped immediately. Dropped off my car, got called back in about a hour and a half, it was done a lot quicker than I expected. I was quoted $80 and that was the price I paid. No additional fees, no taxes, nothing. Quoted $80 and paid $80 which was nice. Didn't get the gentleman's name who helped me but he was great. Thanks! I'm currently in the process of purchasing a new car and have no plans to upgrade the sound, but I am definitely reconsidering and if I do, I will definitely be bringing it back to Sound Systems Plus. Sound Systems Plus 93 S Capitol Ave San Jose, CA 95127 This is my first review ever for any organization. Sound Systems Plus doesn't appear to need any more good reviews, but here goes anyway. My audio quit working so I came in hoping they would have the unlock levers to pull it out so I could check the internal fuse; old system so I didn't want to spend much on it. As soon as I arrived Cesar went into action. The levers he found didn't match the pic in my operator instruction booklet so he instantly made some knotches, but they wouldn't work. He was able to pull it from the dash anyway and check the fuse which was good. He put everything back together and now everything works! Cesar said it may have just needed a reset. I am very impressed. I think I was only there about 5 minutes total. Cesar was SO nice and clearly very knowledgeable to be able to do everything so fast. VERY reasonable too. Went to the store for the first time today after my friend was looking for a new alarm and have to say the store has current gen items and half outdated items which is sorta interesting at times but also disappointing. Asked about a 1- Way Viper Alarm and guy straight up said $500 when he didn't even know which one I was talking about then quickly moved it down to $200 after. Asked about how much it cost separately and he never told me how much the alarm cost itself and only that install was $80 total so guessing the Alarm cost $120 when I've seen other places have it for $70. As I said I'll think about it he instantly lowered it to $180 for the set. Sorta see where this was going and still thought about it and knew I definitely could make a offer at that point. Still don't think I'll ever head back. Not sure how they do on installs but overall customer service and prices are poor. read more

I went to A+ Sound Systems on Alum Rock and Capitol for an aftermarket remote/clicker (key less entry) for my RV. I did my research with other dealers including the vehicle (Ford) dealer. Brian not only gave me a good deal, but I bundled and got a new stereo system with a backup camera, and saved a lot of money which also included the alarm system. Sam was the best customer service person I met. He even offered to get rid of the damn bell/dinging noise that happens when the key is in the ignition and the door is open... so annoying! We were in need of a better stereo system in our RV. While looking for a place to smog our RV we happen to come upon Sound Systems Plus. The business was nice and clean. Brian greeted us was very knowledgeable and we talked about a stereo for our RV. He said no problem to install in RV's. We got an estimate and said we are still checking around. Then a couple of weeks later on 5/16/2014, before a camping trip we decided to go back to Brian and have the stereo installed. We decided to have two stereos installed, one inside and one outside, plus bought two speakers too. The sound was great! We are very happy that we went to Sound Systems Plus!
