Well am taking the time to complete this review based on my own experience with the shop. This review is only based on an estimate given to me by one of the employees at sound waves. I had a problem on my audio system which includes 2 hifonicz amps, all alpines speakers and an RE 12 inch sub. I was getting constant noise on my system so guy looked at it and immediately said I can't touch your system unless I do all brand new wiring. That's fine by me except for the fact that it would cost me 650 plus tax. I just had another place do all new wiring but they are in union city which is hard for me to drop off the car and get a ride back home. I ended up taking the car to a shop in Paterson which charged me 120 and all they did was check wires and installed a new ground for one of my amps. The job was well done fast and at a reasonable price. Hope this review helps someone, so unless you got the money don't go here. Once again I do not know their quality of work but their prices and approach to problems are insane. read more

This place is a scam tried to over charge me saying the job would take 4 hours when I know it takes at the most an hour and just saying I owe them 400. I'm not stupid I left. They call them selves professionals when clearly they don't know what there doing. And the people there where real nasty to me. Never would I recommend anyone going to this place. read more

STAY AWAY. I went here several months ago to have my sound system installed into my four door sedan. At first, I was very satisfied with the install; everything seemed to be in order.Slowly but surely over the next few days I found more and more wrong with the set-up. The head unit stopped working, the speakers were installed using crappy speaker wire, and on top of it all, I was charged for hours of labor so that they could do work on the vehicle that we agreed upon that they never actually did under the assumption that I would never find out since it was all behind the interior door panel (constructing custom brackets for the speakers, running specific wiring for the speakers, etc.). 1400 dollars later, I am completely unsatisfied by the lies and poor quality of work that went into my install. I will NEVER be coming back. read more

This place Sound-Wave, is like what one of the feedback mentioned, the personnel are some kind of rude and not very responsible. I had some work doing there, and when they are done, the car came with some issues in the door lock, I don't know what they did but wasn't right. They said that are not responsible. read more

I had an issue with my car electronics. Even though it was not their issue, Vinny the store manger , who is very knowable, quickly jumped into action with his Tech and quickly solved the issue - that is customer service! Highly recommend them for all of your car electronic needs. read more

The service I had from sound waves was pretty good. I had them put the tint on my 2014 BMW 325. The real downside however is I think they actually sold my information to an insurance company? I received multiple calls from someone who says they used to work at Sound Waves - Sirmet Bek? He actually called me on my work line, and cell phone and had my home address. I think the owner of Sound Waves needs to figure out what his employees are doing with their private information. They are going after high end clients, and passing out their information. read more

After picking myself up off the floor when I called my car dealership and asked about a remote start, a friend recommended Sound Waves to me. Their price was FAR more reasonable than going to the dealership and they were able to accommodate me on a Saturday no less. They were very easy to deal with. Last week I started to have a problem with one of my car remotes. I called them unsure if it was the remote start or the key. They told me to come right in. They stopped what they were doing, checked the key, tested it out, figured out the problem and fixed it on the spot. It had nothing to do with the installation but a bad (new) battery. Again, they were very nice and wanted to make sure I was happy. I highly recommend them! read more

I had a great experience at Sound Waves. I dealt mostly with Vinny, and throughout the process I found him to be responsive to my questions (looking into further details and options and getting back to me quickly) and direct about the cost of each option. My issue was a quarter that got into my cd slot and into the radio. Further complication was a blown speaker in the right passenger door. I optioned to repair my current radio which required Sound Waves to remove the radio, ship it to their repair contact, and reinstall the radio when it returned. When they hooked the radio up they discovered the sound was still distorted and checked each speaker until they found the one that was blown. Again, options and pricing were given for that repair, and the work was done quickly. After the last repair I noticed that the door lock on the panel that was removed to fix the speaker wasn't working properly (hadn't been an issue the previous time the panel was removed for diagnostics). Called and brought the car in - repair was made quickly and at no cost to me. Radio is working great so far and no issue with the door lock since the repair a couple of days ago. I'd recommend this company, and I would recommend working with Vinny. Appreciated the time he took to find out all options and further details that would make me comfortable with going forward on the repairs that were needed. Thanks : ) Linda H. read more

They have a solution for everything, and believe me you get what you pay for. Its a one stop shop, with friendly staff on hand at all times. Their installers can do anything from a small job to a full custom audio system. They specialize in it all. And now being a camera store its even better. They come highly recommended. read more

Just got my windows tinted at Sound Waves and MAN they did a great job!!! The employees are friendly, curteous, funny, and make you feel right at home.. they have a THEATER ROOM for while you're waiting with reclining seats and they're so comfortable!!! When I got there I found a beautiful store and a very professional staff. They handled all of my needs in a timely manner and gave a great price to install a remote start in my car. Due to my own stupidity and a blizzard, I was a week late to my appointment. They were really nice and saw me immediately anyway because I had come from Hoboken. I have been having problems with a car stereo that was installed in Jersey City over three years ago. It caused my VW Beetle's instrument cluster to short out and it even activated my anti-theft system. All in, it has probably cost me over $1600 to fix and have everything re-wired several times, and it still never worked right. And then the left speaker and the phone mic stopped working. It was maddening. Sound Waves had installed my original stereo when I bought the car and until the tape player (Yes, tape player) died, it was never a problem. So I went back to square one and brought it back to them to see if they could fix it. They didn't try to sell me anything, they just looked at it, and were able to fix the existing wiring and hook everything up correctly. They told me it would take two hours, and it was finished in about an hour and 15 minutes. Then one of the women who works there (I'm sorry, but I am bad with names) paired my Alpine car stereo to my iphone and even connected it to my contacts so I could make calls with one button. I wish I had gone to them first because they were professional, nice and really fast. Next time I will go to them first. read more
