About a year and a half ago we bought a condo on the first floor. We knew that there would be some noise but it was really bad. You could hear everything and it sounded like they were coming through the ceiling. We talked to neighbors and and found out that the people above us had remodeled their condo and had put tile flooring directly on the wood sub-floor and did not put any sound barrier matting in between the tile and the wood sub-floor. Since we have an 8 foot ceiling we went with the low-profile isolation clips (RSIC-1 LP). We followed Alex's advice on installation and my drywaller had installed something similar prior. It was a big project but the results are amazing. By using Sound Away's clips, Green Glue, and Acoustical Chalking we have almost eliminated all noise from upstairs. Very Very Happy. read more

They look great and really work. I was looking for something other than rectangular noise dampening tiles and when I saw the Wisperwave SoundClouds, I figured they would look really cool. We bought 4 of the 4'x8' clouds and hung them from our gameroom ceiling. They look architecturally cool, and they reduced the echo or reverberation in game room very much. I recently received my order of a door panel cover from Sound Away. I picked up some sound barrier vinyl from Sound Away. They had it in stock and offered excellent advise for how I was using/installing it. I ended up buying some sound absorption sheets and roll of sealing gasket. That gasket was super easy to install and made a big difference, keeping the noise out from the window I was plugging up. Without there helpful knowledge, I would have never achieve professional results (doing this on my own) without there help. Sound Away has everything for the DIYer, and the advise the offer is invaluable. They have a good selections of materials and solutions in stock. i ordered 1000 feet of acoustic sound barrier Mat From soundaway. the transaction went well. shipping was a little slow. but at the product as described. The day before installation my installer informed me that I needed a specific adhesive primer in order to install this product. Soundaway is about a two-hour drive from my location. they sell the product for $60 a gallon. In order to keep my project on schedule, I had to find a closer retailer that offers the product. it wasn't easy. But after much searching I found a place about 15 minutes away from my project that sells the same product for $36 a gallon. That's a pretty hefty markup, no? read more
