It wasn't busy around 10:30 am when we got there. We were greeted and seated right away, given menus and the waitress who took care of us, took our drink order and let us take our time to order. We all ordered the Breakfast Special for $7.99, but varied the order to our liking. I had ordered the special with eggs sunny side up and brown toast, my sister ordered her eggs scrambled with white toast and our friend had over easy eggs, with brown toast. I should have asked for tomato slices instead of home fries, because I am not a fan of potatoes. Nonetheless, the entire breakfast was hot and delicious and my eggs were cooked perfectly; perfect for dunking my toast into them. The coffee and tea we ordered came by a small pot, enough for one person, but enough to have several cups, which was enjoyable instead of having to have the waitress come around and top up our cups. The service was fast, our food came out hot and everything good. Great small town atmosphere, good company. The prices were standard for your diner food, coffee was bottomless. I'd like to come back and try the lunch menu.

The meals came and we were quickly disappointed! Steak was hot, salmon was overdone, but the sides, mashed red skinned potatoes and brussel sprouts were almost cold. At $38 a plate, we expected more. The server was called to return both plates to the kitchen. I know the owner who was on the floor and told him of the issue. Plates came back with more potatoes thrown on top and a side salad was put on top of the brussel sprouts( which we didn't want). Nothing was hot! No one came to check whether we were happy with the food. We ordered dessert to finish our wine with. Waitress shortly came to tell us they needed the table. There was NO one waiting at the door and there were empty tables still. Bill was $175 before tip. When we got home I called and spoke to the owner. He said, "they make mistakes", I told him that it shouldn't be at the customer's expense. He also said they didn't need the table. They obviously wanted us to leave. There was no offer to reimburse us for the terrible entrees. Owner said he would call me the next day to take care of this. Three calls to the restaurant and NO call back to me. Guess what? We won't waste our money or time taking a chance at a mediocre meal at a mediocre restaurant with even more disappointing service!
