    Maritime Spritz... was super refreshing

A border patrol officer recommended this restaurant as we were entering Canada, and even though we were a bit skeptical because of our usual interest in food, I am sooo glad we tried it. Everything was delicious, we even went ahead and grabbed more food a second time crossing back home. The only reason I give it 4 instead of 5 stars is because they did not seem so thrilled we were picking up food to go, I think they do better with sit down service. Salty dog fries were my favorite (:

The menu was quite tantalising - such a nice variety and many items my Celiac spouse could have without needing substitutions. But, once they knew, they directed us to gluten-free items and those items for which they could make substitutions. It made us feel quite comfortable! We had the surf & turf tacos and the chunks were just perfect - tender, juicy, buttery. Mmmmm. We also had a gf shrimp appetiser that was amazingly yummy with such fresh flavours. Indoor and patio seating available. Super friendly staff!

Outdoor patio was nice, ordered "The Burger" (w/ salty dog fries) and the "Veggie Burger" (w/ reg fries). Both burgers came with the same fries? Not sure if they were the salty dog or regular fries? -- waitress did not know. Either way the fries were soft, not fresh, not crisp, and small. The burgers were good. However, "The Burger" comes with arugula that tasted off - should come with regular lettuce instead. Service was mediocre - non-existent once you got your food. Overpriced for what you get. Disappointed

Cute outdoor patio. Salty dog Fries were amazing, great flavor. The Panko breaded Perch was kind of mushy and not crispy.

It's a must visit when in Amherstburg, the service and food just so good. Lobster tacos too good to explain. Never disappointed.

Felt homie which we loved. Small parking lot as well. We arrived about 20 mins after opening. This place can get busy /packed fast but is worth the wait! Food: we ordered the Packard pepperoni pizza- it was delicious, with a great balance between sweet (from the hot honey) to savory. The dough, sauce, and toppings were well balanced, fresh, portioned.

We were traveling from Ohio and decided we wanted some Detroit style pizza. We read and watched…read morereviews from a bunch of places and decided to see what the excitement was about Michigan & Trumbull. We researched the menu and decided to order ahead so that we could maximize our travel time. We arrived, and there was a small parking lot which was great since we had my elderly mother with us. I think there may have been additional parking across the street. We noticed there were picnic tables outside where people were eating pizza and upon walking in to pick up our pizza, we saw some limited indoor seating. We went to sit in a booth and were abruptly told that seating is not for "carry out customers," but we were welcome to sit outside. Ok? Their website said nothing about there being any seating, and after traveling four hours, we would have enjoyed some drinks and maybe some side dishes in addition to our pizza if the employees weren't so rude. They didn't even ask if we'd like to order something additional. So, we went outside to eat. The pizza was good, but honestly, nothing special. We ALWAYS order a cheese pizza so we can truly compare it to other pizzas. We ordered extra mozzarella on our cheese, and I'm unsure of how much cheese they normally put on a cheese pizza, but the extra cheese was no more than the other pizzas we ordered. We also ordered a pepperoni which had to the good little pepperonis that curl up. Yum! In addition we ordered a specialty pizza called "The Long Drive Home." It had vodka sauce, sausage and banana peppers. This was a crowd favorite. The sausage has incredible flavor and combines really well with the peppers and vodka sauce. I personally love vodka sauce. This one wasn't creamy like you find on pasta, but was good. Finally we did a white pizza with all cheese, ricotta and black pepper. It was also good. The garlic aioli could have a little more flavor. Not sure if there wasn't enough to taste it or if it just needs more seasoning. So, overall, the pizza is nothing special and I would recommend going for the special toppings before worrying about the extra cheese. The ambiance of the restaurant is that of many city restaurants--small, loud, nothing fancy. The picnic tables were fine. Thankfully it was not too hot and we were able to enjoy our time.

Fredi has the best pizza in Michigan…read more The guy is an artist and his pizza is his masterpiece. The crust is firm, crunchy, and flavorful and bready but light. The sauce is tart and a little sweet and there are small chunks of tomatoes here and there which infuse even more flavor with each bite. If you hold up a slice for a little CSI: Pizza action, you're going to see a firm "V" shape on the side profile with a slight bend towards the tip of the slice. As far as I'm concerned, the classics are the way to go. I would say "The Don" is the overall crowd pleaser with a little more cheese than the basic pep but I think I've permanently been converted to the "Moe Greene". It's simple, there's plenty of cheese, and you get to really enjoy the bread and sauce. The "Fredo" is also good if you want something a little different. It has a small dusting of hot sauce and a generous amount of diced chicken and a drizzling of ranch. The chicken and hot sauce are well balanced so you don't feel like you're chugging a bottle of Franks with your pizza. They've added outdoor seating since opening, the indoor wait area can get a little crowded, the wait times can be a little long during peak hours, and the drive to Melvindale isn't short. All those caveats aside, it's absolutely worth the trip and the wait.

There is some indoor and outdoor seating but we decided to take ours to go. We got a Margherita, Corleone, and Al Nieri (Italian Sausage and Ricotta Calzone). The Al Nieri was the our favorite, the cazlone was so soft inside and creamy from the ricotta. The second was the Margherita which was cooked perfectly and not too crunchy but nice flavor from the sauce and cheese. The Corleone was also very good but I think I need to get some ranch to dip it in which I regret not asking for. Definitely would go back and worth the hype although I can imagine it gets pretty busy at times.
