Highly recommend his starter! Yeah yeah, make your own starter from scratch blah blah tutorials online. I tried my own. But starter takes time to get well established. Even after a month my starter was still weak relative to this. Making my loaves dense. Before throwing in the towel on making my own bread, I threw out my own starter. I used the process but with his starter and results were amazing. Awesome fluffy bread. Shorter proof time. Starter doubles/triples fast. Bottom line, if you bake sourdough get this starter. I've tried Sourdough Delight a few times through neighbors but I finally got to order my own and picked it up! Norris (owner/baker) makes it so easy for pickup as he texts you the day of and tell him what time you will be there. I've tried a few of his specials and boy, are they good. I usually don't eat sourdough bread but this is an exception. Norris uses premium ingredients that are well thought through and for the breads with fruit inside, he def does not skimp. Such a great experience! I was looking for a sourdough starter, and I was able to purchase online and pick up the next day. Excellent communication and education. When I got there I was welcomed inside and got to see the bakery setup and Norris gave me get tips and tricks. I stumbled across Sourdough Delight while I was searching for a bread bakery on Yelp, and after reading all the five star reviews I decided to try out the bread for myself! I just picked up my first order today, and I have to say I am beyond impressed! The Cinnamon Apple bread is to die for, and the regular Sourdough tastes amazing! I was lucky enough to be given a little tour of the property when I picked up my bread, and this is as close to farm-to-table as you can get for bread! The owner grinds his own wheat, uses fresh eggs from their own chickens, and has an incredible backyard filled with all kinds of thriving fruits and vegetables! I used to get Noris' bread every other week when I lived in San Diego. I even used this company to cater my private events. I even made sure my son had a loaf of bread while moving into his dorms.I'm visiting San Diego for 4 days. So, I had to get some bread while I stayed in my hotel. I found Sourdough Delight and Norris while looking for a bakery near my home. I order a new loaf about once a week. He tells me he goes through an up to eight hour process to bake his bread. Noris' bread is almost exclusively the only bread I eat. Most other bread is not worth eating in my opinion as it's nutritionally devoid and not with the calories. Noris takes such care sourcing his ingredients and making his bread that not only is it the best bread around taste wise, but actually packs in some worthwhile nutrition which makes me feel even better about how much I am enjoying it. My mom and I have been hooked on his bread for years, but it reached new levels last week when my stepdaughter announced some big news. For the longest time Mochi ice cream has been her favorite food closely followed by Veggie Straws. Noris' sourdough breads are made with only the finest organic, clean ingredients and attention to every detail of artisanal bread baking. His breads are the best I have found anywhere. I buy his breads almost exclusively and enjoy his regular types and his seasonal offerings, such as date walnut and cranberry walnut breads. The price is higher than store-bought breads, but worth it. I am supposed to avoid gluten and have no problems with Noris' sourdough delights! This baker (Noris) really knows his stuff. He's a talented baker and I very much enjoyed his cheese-topped sourdough. OMG it was so good. My kids and I really loved it. We also enjoyed the seasonal herb epi bread. He's very attentive to the look and taste of each loaf he bakes. When you're ready to pick up, he comes out himself and delivers the bread, freshly baked.
