The New Yorker was the better of the two in my opinion. Simplicity is key, I think. Dog, bun, kraut, good mustard and a sprinkle of spice. Quality dog, good kraut, high quality mustard made for an excellent hot dog. My coworkers had really good things to say about their dogs as well. I would recommend against ordering online from this shop. On 10/29/2025, I placed an order via DoorDash for pickup and paid $45.24 because Grandma wanted hotdogs for her 94th birthday. When I went to pick them up, I was told they do not have the sausages to make the hot dogs I ordered. They assured me I'll be reimbursed but that didn't happen. I called at least 6 times, and each time the staff member who answered the call assured me the manager would take care of it and issue a refund, but nothing happened. I was craving a hot dog randomly and decided to come here based on the amazing menu and reviews. It's a little hut in the parking lot of Home Depot. Got the Chicago dog which was slightly under $10. (Inflation is real.) The peppers had a slight kick-- good. The pickle was delicious. The hot dog itself was ok. The bread looked amazing with the poppyseeds on it, but it sort of squishes and deflates as you hold onto your hotdogs. The bun kept getting more and more squished as I tried holding it in different positions. Would've preferred a more substantial bun. Hotdog was ok. Sort of satisfied my hotdog craving but may need to get at least 2 dogs to fill you up. I had to get a protein bar afterwards. read more

I've been here plenty of times for one thing and one thing only - the lobster roll. It is an absolute delight. I was craving for dogs and I stumbled across Duffs on a Sunday afternoon. For the most part the doggs exceeded my expectations and the toppings were the star of the show. My husband's favorite doggs by far are the Polish dogg and following that was the Corny dogg. He literally scarfed them down in under 5 minutes. 15/10 I'm pretty simple, I got the Carolina and Classic doggs. I was pretty envious of my husband's picks because he kept raving about how good his doggs were. If I had to comment on the doggs I've gotten, I would say that they had the "snap" I had hoped for and the relish was by far the best relish I've had in a while. I used to eat here A LOT at this hotdog stand. However, after Covid the price has really gone up so I don't come as much. When I do come with my wife for the lobster rolls which are about $25 per roll. When the owner makes the lobster rolls he does a good job of putting a balanced mix of lobster meat roll on each roll. Last time, I was here was with my wife, a staff member made the rolls and put all the claws on one roll and then all of the lobster meat "crumbs" on another roll. The meat balance was so off. Parking is no problem. Service was amazing. One guy, seemed like the owner. I should have asked but he was very busy. Hub and I had a heavy breakfast but really wanted to try a hot dog from Duffs Doggz while we were in the area. So we shared an in and out dog. The gentleman who brought us the hot dog was so kind, he offered to cut it in half when he saw the two of us. He even brought it out in two trays. We were taken by surprise., because workers from other places would actually give u glares for being cheap and sharing. Customer service was superb! The hot dog was served on a warm and butter bun, and all the toppings were fresh, crispy and delicious! It actually was beyond our expectations! Although I thought the bacon was a bit too hard, but that was ok. I loved how you can just hang out in the parking especially on a nice breezy day. They have three styles of Lobster Rolls -- New England, Connecticut-style, and San Diego. We always have New England rolls first when trying a place for the first time. The ones at Duffs Doggs are very good -- cold lobster meat salad (looked like all claw meat) in nicely toasted New England rolls. They were made to order in a matter of minutes. He had the In-N-Out dogg which is a toasted New England style bun, French's fried onions, secret sauce, melted cheese, smothered in bacon, with a sprinkle of celery salt. This was his favorite of the three. He inhaled it. After finishing our doggs, we needed one more! We went with the Pastrami Dogg which has pastrami, sauerkraut, deli mustard, a pickle spear, and a sprinkle of celery salt. This one was ranked number two out of the three. But still 10/10. We've been going here for years. When I was a mailman in University City, I patronized Chicago On a Bun when Jerry Carnow brought the Chicago style to San Diego. And when he passed, I thought that unless I went to Chicago I wouldn't be able to enjoy that style ever again. Now, having been to Duffs since the Senior Duffs started it so he can be closer to his son and family stationed in Camp Pendleton. Reason for 1 Star Review: After an extremely difficult and frustrating Catering Experience, the in-person interaction solidified Duff's would make no attempt to make the situation right or treat the customer with respect or courtesy. To start, Duff's Doggz advertises that they offer catering services. I contracted those services and was confirmed for my event date weeks before the event. Shortly after, Duff's contacted me again to say they already had a booking that day. I understood, and offered to pick up the order, and was provided with an alternative option: I was referred, by a Duff's representative, to use DoorDash for the delivery. After a grueling back and forth phone/email/chat experience with Duff's and DoorDash; on the Day-Of the event, I still had to pick up the order. The final straw was even after all these negative experiences, I would expect Duff's to apologize for the lack of communication and for the experience with DoorDash (that they referred and chose to partner with), but I was met with disrespectful counter staff, Below-Costco-Grade Hot Dogs, and a giveaway-lunchbox filled with a single free hotdog coupon. This is not an acceptable consolation with the amount of finger-pointing chaos that this establishment's operational decision-making created for our corporate event. Total disappointment and their solution was again, to blame Doordash's Vendor Distance Limitations for their lack of consumer attention and solutions in this scenario read more
