She is honest, and caring and kind and personable. I look forward to have my treatment plan done by her and I despise the dentist! Also, the office is comfortable and quiet which is the complete opposite of the other office I visited which was loud and chaotic.

The new plan was a healthier more cautious route as well as more cost effective. They have a "calming menu" where you can request a blanket, headphones, warm neck pillow, etc. for more comfort and dental anxiety which I think we all can agree that we all get! She is so kind and communicative, but you can tell she is an absolute fighter for solutions for you. She runs the financial role of the business and I could not be more impressed with her professionalism and experience with navigating insurance companies, Care credit, and a patient's priorities. I'm a hairdresser and deal with a wonderful and very affluent clientele. I felt like I looked cheap with messed up teeth. The consultation was incredible. Dr. Christy Tu is a perfectionist. It was such an educational and solution driven experience, that I followed all of her advice. I later found out she went to the USC school of dentistry. A top tier school for general and cosmetic dentistry. I didn't way my implants to look like chiclets. I wanted them to look real and natural. She nailed it. I couldn't be happier with the results! The office is clean and modern, all the hygienist are so nice and thorough (wish I could remember their names). I can't recommend Westgate Family Dental enough!

Not only…read moreis he the most personable dentist I've ever met with a warm and friendly staff, but he's great at what he does. I had a cracked filling on a tooth, which unfortunately needed a crown. Dr. McDowell checked it out, explaining everything to me, expertly dealing with the tooth. I completely trust his judgement because he has worked on my teeth for a few years and is always sensible and does the right thing. After making a mold for the permanent crown he put a temporary one in for a couple of weeks. Then I came in an got the permanent one in only a few minutes and it's perfect. I have been chewing on it for a couple of weeks now. (Note: I didn't realize that you don't need Novocain when they put the permanent crown in, so don't bother with that) So, if you want someone who remembers who you are, administers Novocaine gently, and has many years of professional experience, go with the best! They have my landline phone and after I got home I verified there is no message. I guess they assumed everyone is using a mobile number. Then the formerly mentioned bossy young lady proceeds to tell me what their new policy is and how they now have new requirements for providing medical information and how they have to charge me for x-rays (even though I have had radiation treatment and a stint due to that treatment). Anyway I left and I recommend you do the same. End of an era.

I had an awful…read moreexperience at a place that I thought was a well oiled machine for Invisalign My final appointment was horrifically painful AND started 50 mins late and I had to stay an extra hour. Yes, my appointment was from 10-11, but it got started at 10:50 The teeth whitening was one of the most excruciating pain I've ever felt. I was actually wondering if it was suppose to feel like torture. Apparently, my mouth guard wasn't in place and while I was left to my own device, I was also suffering away as my gums burned and burned. I wish someone, anyone had just preface - that BURNING is not normal. I was almost in tears by the time I jump out of my seat and nearly ripped off the mouth guard, and whimpering before the tech came to check on me. My bottom gums were all either bleached white or burned. Invisalign is a huge investment - my invoice 7k or over from Swish and I really think that your local dentist could do it for cheaper (the discounts/deal isn't great bc they have such a high mark up), and you probably won't be tortured and left with WHITE GUMS after a simple whitening.

We don't have endless time to sit around. Came in for a crown replacement and literally sat in the dentist chair for 30 minutes waiting for numbing to take effect. They said dentist got caught up doing something else (which I thought meant like 5 minutes) and didn't show up for another 25 minutes! Before proceeding with the operation Service really needs to improve. People have lives and can't just sit around waiting all day.

After coming to this office for a few years I was up sold on so many things I didn't need, first being a mouth guard I never use (and surprise my teeth are fine though my dentist acted like my teeth were going to fall out without it) and countless fillings. The last year I had with them mid 2024 I believe I was quoted 1,600 dollars worth of work including a crown. I was devastated, but trusted them and scheduled with them. Something in my gut felt off about having another year of so much dental work when i religiously cleaned my teeth so I went for a second opinion. Turns out the second dentist didn't see any work I needed to get done. I was shocked to go from drilling countless spots in my mouth to no work needed. Now it's 01/06/2026 and I just went and got x rays again and told good job no extra work besides cleaning needed today at another dentist. I'm so glad I didn't go to grand oaks for a crown and multiple fillings I didn't need and trusted my gut. It's been years and my teeth are fine contrary to what this office said(they made it sound like my teeth were horrible and needed this work asap) Id never return to such a greedy and predatory dental office that's obviously only looking to make extra money and give you dental work you don't need. I learned so much about myself and they were so thorough. Dr. Ip, Shae, and Grace were all such a pleasure. On this visit, I learned that I have a deviated septum and also a tight oral frenulum. These might be why I have breathing problems at night. The team was never pushy with trying to sell me on services or products which I really appreciated. They have such cool technology that really gives me an in depth overview of my oral health. The only thing I would recommend is if they played music in the lobby or something. It echoes and is awkwardly quiet in the lobby. I would absolutely recommend the dental office and will be back for my next check up/cleaning!

I came here after having a pretty terrible experience at Austin Artistic Dental ( 0/5 stars for AAD). I had to get a crown redone and the staff at LHD helped me feel very welcome and really listened to my concerns and we made a good plan of action to move forward with my crown. At AAD the dentist said I needed 3! crowns to replace some old fillings and that did not feel right to me. When I came to LHD they took some X-rays and said that I did not need the crowns but did need to re-do the fillings which I felt sounded correct. I got the crown fixed, 2 fillings (not amalgam fillings thank god too) and a cleaning done here. My dentist was Dr. Horter and she was just so great. She listened to what I thought about my own needs, validated my concerns and made suggestions that felt right. She worked carefully and took her time to get things right and I feel that she really cared to do a thorough and proper job, which I appreciate because I'm the one that has to live with the dental work. Also they never once asked me to leave a review or incentivized me with free items, which showed me that every 5 star review here is genuine. Also I absolutely love the atmosphere of the clinic and all the staff seem genuinely happy to be there. 10/10 highly recommend :)
