My son has been taking private lessons from Coach Paul for about 6 months and has been extremely happy with his lessons and progress. Paul is extremely patient and encouraging and is focused on teaching proper form and developing good habits, while making sure my son enjoys the sport and is meeting his personal goals. My son has improved dramatically, not only by gaining more technical skills, but also by gaining confidence in his abilities. South Bay Archery was also extremely generous and accommodating over the holidays, as our family was searching for a fun activity to do on New Year's eve with some friends. We booked a private party with Coach Paul and Coach Lani and everyone had a wonderful time! They made sure all 9 participants learned proper safety protocols, and taught our group how to shoot since some of us had no prior experience. They kept a good pace, explaining the challenges of shooting from further distances, and made things extra fun by creating a competition at the end, with the winner getting a prize! Making a reservation was easy, with a wide range of availability, and they answered any pre-appointment questions quickly. This is a great place to learn the sport of archery. I've been shooting arrows for many years but didn't know what I was doing so I was never consistent or accurate with my shooting. Money well spent! A group and I went for my boyf birthday. We were about 15 min late but we started right away. At first I was pretty nervous about archery since my vision isn't the best and I'm not the strongest. I took my best friend here for his 21st birthday because we always wanted to properly learn how to use bow and arrows, because we always shot before but not really knowing the proper way to do so. Paul was an amazing instructor. Not only was he instructing us on how to properly use a bow and to shoot, but he mentored us about a state of mind that we should be in shooting and in real life. Took my first archery lesson today with Paul. I opted for a private 1 on 1 to provide an in depth first look at fundamentals. I've had a lot of coaches/teachers in my life and I have to say that from beginning to end Paul was great. He provides all knowledge regarding safety and teaches you with the journey in mind instead of the destination. In about an hour and a half Paul had me shooting bullseyes but it was done through proper technique coaching and providing detailed coaching. He is not afraid to point out necessary corrections (which I appreciate) but does it in an encouraging manner with optimism. Paul is also pretty funny and uses real world examples to explain how aspects of archery relate to the real world. He is patient and thorough, highly recommend and would return for sure! read more

I was visiting from South Carolina and my friends brought me to South Bay Archery Lessons for a private evening of fun and entertainment. We really had the best time! The staff was amazingly sweet and patient, even though I had no experience. They really explained everything and walked me through each step of the sport.
