Very competent and pleasant. I have been going to this group for 25 years and still think they are the best. I have 2 dogs and 3 cats.

If you want a bad attitude and an arrogant staff, this is your place to go. Terrible customer service and no empathy at all.

Spent over $1,300 for a consult and spay just for them to be closed for 2 days in a row with less than a 24 hour notice. Waited over 30 minutes at the initial consult appointment. Day of the spay appointment, I drop my cat off at 8:00 AM and was not even given a phone call with an update. Tried to call them for an update at 1:45: PHONES OFF!!!!! Called at 2:00 PM to find out the my cat has BEEN SITTING IN A KENNEL AND STILL MOT SPAYED! She was not spayed until 3:00 in the afternoon with the excuse that "it's busy" but they'll put her under and give her something to come back up. AN 8lb CAT?! She's not a science project. She was in a kennel for more time than she was in recovery which was a little less THAN 2 HOURS! Arrived at 5:30 for the pick up and Waited over 15 minutes in an empty lobby until someone decided to step out from the back. Brought my cat home with oral gabapentin and she could not tolerate it. Was advised by a TECH to continue giving oral gabapentin when my cat was clearly adversed to it and told me to call back if she was still having problems. Tried to call back and they were closed from 12:00 on Friday until that Monday. Not even ONE doctor on staff? Closure announcement made LESS THAN 24 hours in advanced AND made through their GOOGLE ACCOUNT? Not even an email or automated phone call to inform patients? Sketchy business, sketchy service and I will NEVER go back. I will be letting everyone I know to steer clear of this vet unless they want to spend a grand for lousy service.

I was in a slip dress, slippers, and wet hair, it was unmistakably a crisis. I thought they were going to take good care of us, but they did the exact opposite. Instead of triaging a bleeding animal, the late-night staff stared at me like I was crazy and left us waiting in a full room. When someone finally spoke to me, they skipped the bleeding chest wound entirely just to make a snarky comment about leashing my service dog, who was calm and posing zero threat. Treating a critical trauma case like an inconvenient joke is pure neglect. The staff working the 10:00 PM shift on Thursday the 14th showed a complete lack of medical judgment, basic empathy, and professional competence. Management needs to fire the people working this shift before their gross negligence costs an animal its life. Unacceptable

She was throwing up, gasping for air, losing control of her bowels, and her eyes appeared slightly bulged. I was terrified and had no idea what to do. I called 311, searched for nearby emergency vets, and came across Veg ER for Pets. When I called, I explained my cat's condition, and they immediately urged me to bring her in. I arrived around 2:00 a.m., and the staff greeted me right away and quickly began triaging my cat, Gia. Unfortunately, Gia was extremely ill, and her chances of survival were very slim. I ultimately made the heartbreaking decision to let her go peacefully. I want to give a huge acknowledgment to the Veg ER team for their compassion during one of the hardest moments of my life. Dr. Ciona and the nursing team Rachel, Geo, Kasey, Sophia, and Tracey worked together with such care and empathy. They made sure both Gia and I were as comfortable as possible, and they gave me the time I needed to be with her before saying goodbye. Thank you all again for your kindness, support, and compassion during such a painful time. It meant more than you know. Cheryl R.

Initially we thought the bird was dead, but it wasn't. However, it was very lethargic. We tried to provide it some heat and thought it might be a good idea to bring it to Boston commons. On our way there, we stumbled upon VEG ER for pets which was open 24 hours and had images of birds and other animals displaying on their TV (it can be care to find vets that care for avians). They let us in, we explained the situation, and they gave us two fair options - let the vet check it out and if they determine there is little hope for recovery, ethically euthanize it, or, if it does show signs of recovery after 30 min - 1 hr, they'd bring it to Boston Commons. We didn't have time to stick around for the final decision, but I do hope it did recover. The staff there was really friendly, thanked us for being good Samaritans, and had us fill out a form. They also did offer us complimentary snacks and beverages. I was satisfied with my unexpected visit here.

One time I was sent out to Acton to get a root canal done on my cat. When I got there, the dentist there said it couldn't be done and she just extracted the tooth. For $1,000. I got referred to another place in Chatlestown for something else, because their relationship with the people who had been doing onsite had fallen apart. That one cost me over $1000 too,for something I was told would cost around $250. When I came in for the last few visits, nobody ever seemed to know why I was there. There seemed not to be communication or professionalism. Their prices were exorbitant, too! I really regret not having switched to my current vet sooner.
