This place is amazing. Their kickin chicken wrap is my go-to and the cold brew is like nothing I have ever had before. Reminds me of the juice bars in Miami. I eat here at least 6 times a week. The smoothies are great! I went back twice in one day, it was that good! The only complaint is they are expensive. A medium smoothie is around 4.75 and it's about 12 oz. I spent $10 on two smoothies for two people. That is a bit pricey. I will only go here as a treat but not as a regular, although if the prices were lower, I would be there everyday because it is tasty. I'm not into that type of food, so I'll stick with the smoothies! I understand the prices are high because they are just starting and rent in Clarendon is expensive, but nonetheless, it is not a place for me to consider becoming a "regular" merely because of the prices. read more

I stopped for the first time by your store this afternoon and I was looking forward to trying the bake goods. Unfortunately, the girl at the counter was very unfriendly. When she did not understand what I said, she said "What". Her attitude was poor. She seemed bother by my questions and presence. At the end I decided not to try any product because of the unwelcoming manner of the attendant. My daughter ordered two pastries which cost her almost $15 dollars. I am pretty sure my version of paradise would include South Block. The only down side to working so close to them is that I am ALWAYS tempted to go in, and unfortunately my wallet can't quite afford that on a daily basis. However if I could I would eat there numerous times a week. Their selection of Green Smoothies tend to be my favorite, and their locally pressed juices are worth the indulgence (one bottle is about $9). Definitely recommended! read more

For the workout junkie, you can get a post workout smoothies with 33 g of protein- much tastier than your average protein shake. And the price is the same flat rate. LOVE the service, food, coffee and location! My husband and I eat here once if not twice a day. I highly recommend their coffee, Acai Bowls, Lyon Chipotle wrap and Chunky Elvis! The Belly Cards are great too for collecting points. Once you have enough, you can use the points towards anything on their menu. I also recommend calling ahead and ordering. This is legitimately my favorite place in DC. When I travel to other cities my first task is to find someplace that compares. (No luck so far.) All of their food is amazing across the board--sandwiches, wraps, juices, smoothies, coffee, and especially their açaí bowls. (Try the off-menu Goddess Bowl. It's unreal.) Almost as important, the staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and at least seems to be passionate about their jobs and the food they serve. It makes for a great experience. This place is great! I've yet to eat or drink anything that isn't delicious. The King Kong is my favorite protein smoothie and the So Cal breakfast sandwich is AMAZING! The breakfast burrito is also delicious and HUGE. The establishment is clean, friendly, and welcoming. The last time I frequented here, I ordered my food online and it was ready very quickly. Unfortunately, I had something come up that prevented me from picking up my food for an hour. Panicking, I called South Block just to see if they could continue to hold my food as I was starving. When I arrived, they had actually remade my smoothie! This to me is above and beyond good customer service. I was thrilled and will continue to eat and drink here! read more

This was my first acai bowl, the California bowl. I appreciated that I could substitute toppings. It was very refreshing for a hot day and the added granola and fruit was on point. Very pricey, so I won't go often. read more

This is a great little cafe with lots of dietary options. I've only gotten their coffee (iced and hot) and it's always good and their cappuccino is really well made. I like that they have a lot of different, healthy options that can appeal to a wide array of food tastes (vegetarian, paleo, etc.). read more

SouthBlock is literally my favorite place in Arlington for meals/snacks/smoothies. I love the caveman bowl, the Super Green, and the Arlington wrap. Everything is good here... The juices are good here, however their service is not so great! I've ordered a 6 pack of juice four different times. The first time I arrived shortly after the store opened to pick it up and it hadn't arrived yet. Thankfully it came only 10 minutes later so I just waited for it. The second time was fine, but instead of getting it in a nice 6 pack cardboard carrier, they handed me a large box to carry home which just had my juices floating around in it. (This was a LARGE box). Both the 3rd and 4th times they completely forgot to make my order!! In both cases the person in the store just got juices that had already been in the store and made me up a 6 pack on the spot. A 6 pack of juice costs $55! The reason that I pre-order them is so I can have the freshest possible juices available. I don't want juice that has been sitting on the shelf for 2 or 3 days. I will not be ordering a 6 pack ever again. read more

Hands down the best customer service and staff in all of Clarendon! I love these guys and gals and they always are working their hardest to deliver the best smoothies, bowls, burritos and coffee to keep Arlington satisfied! My faves are the tropi-kale, cold fighter, performance smoothie, and the magic dragon bowl. I also love the kick'n chicken breakfast burrito (no tomatoes) on occasion for some carb loving. However, the best thing to me about South Block is the iced coffee. I am a true addict and they keep me caffeinated and going usually with at least 1-2 large cups a day. Plus they have crushed ice, which just makes it even that much better. I used to hit up Starbucks for my caffeine fix because I had free gift cards, but I go here now daily because I love the taste and the smiling service! My fiancé and I really liked this place when it first opened. The menu was good and the prices were pretty reasonable. They changed their menu a while ago and then just recently changed it again. Now they only offer smoothie bowls in the large size which is too much food for me. The service is extremely slow now- there was only one other customer in the cafe today but it took 10 minutes for us to get two smoothies. The main reason that we will not be going again is the rude people who work there. The past few times the cashiers have been unfriendly and didn't seem aware as to what was on the menu. Today, we had terrible service though and that's what sealed the deal. The girl was rude and argumentative to the point where it was almost comical. My fiancé and I were both confused as to why she was so rude. Poor customer service, slow service for food and drinks, terrible coffee, etc. we won't be going again. read more
