Really love dealing with this auction house. The owner, Matt is the sweetest guy. They have lots of quality stuff & I've been very pleased with my purchases & dealing with them!

Stay away from this company, they don't even have courtesy of returning emails, then again they probably want to hear about how dishonest they were in their transaction with me . Congrats to them they made a 100 bucks and lost a customer, good job !!

I see (generally speaking) the majority of the negative reviews are from people who had items (or an estate) to sell and were expecting to get a lot more $$$ from the sale than they did. You have to remember these are auctions and items can sell for any amount. Also, factor in the auction house takes 30% of whatever the item sells for and that affects the "bottom dollar" too. From a buyers perspective, auctions can be a good thing (buy at a low price), or a bad thing (pay way too much). Either way, they are NOT for the fainthearted! At this auction house, each auction is fast and furious! Items are "up on the block" for literally one minute before they move on to the next item. https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/south-coast-auction-santa-ana?select=FeHox7UOjIx7WPd9HEhCYw As a buyer, a refundable $400 deposit (cash or credit) is required to get your bidders number. If you don't bid on anything, you get a full refund. If you do buy something, a 15% buyer's premium, PLUS a "lot fee" of $2 to $10 PER item (based on price) AND sales tax is added to the hammer price. It's important to remember this when bidding so you don't over bid. https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/south-coast-auction-santa-ana?select=fvfn2K-35O7bVkESDSssVw They have 4 galleries of "stuff" and 3 different auctions every Wednesday afternoon/evening and 2 happen at the same time. If you do buy anything, you have 3 days (until Saturday) to pick it up. You can also pick it up the same day, but only after the last auction finishes, around 8-8:30 pm and they stay until 11:30 pm. https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/south-coast-auction-santa-ana?select=g8FgaIPyWZzOwDLW2Rl9HQ A friend had been telling me about this auction for a while and I finally decided to go check it out a few weeks ago. https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/south-coast-auction-santa-ana?select=D53YRDcr5ERvdeOSB55yBA I watched a number of items sell before eventually buying a washer & dryer. After winning those items I had no reason to stay any longer, so tried to go finalize the sale and pay. It took about 20 minutes for paperwork to get to the office and for them to get it all ready. Front office staff were friendly and explained everything, answering all my questions, as I was a "first timer". While I have no proof of this at all, I can't shake the feeling that during a couple auctions I watched, the auctioneer bumped up the price a few times without anyone actually bidding. It all goes so fast, I think they could easily do that without anyone realizing it, but again I have no proof if this. OVERALL: Auctions aren't for everyone. You must KNOW what you're willing to pay, factor in the buyer's premium and stick with a max bid limit. Also, while it's not easy to do, it's very important to leave your emotions at the door, you'll have a better chance of not over bidding that way.

Nope. Nope. Nope. Holds funds for up to 2 WEEKS BEFORE purchase. Does not disclose before arrival. Acts like an asshole when upset.

Ask the Community - South Coast Auction

Do you sell autograph collections?

Hi Fay, we do possibly sell them, it depends on who the autographs are from and whether there is any authentication. Please call our office and we'd be happy to explain our options to you. We are open Monday through Saturday 9am to 4pm: 800-649-4922

I have a collection of quilts, many are antique and some are quilt tops. Is there a market for quilts? Do you suggest buying outright or consigmnt?…

Hi Jane, The market on quilts is not what it used to be but we'd be happy to take a look and let you know if they're something we would purchase outright or take on…

This Goodwill has been around forever. Through its various incarnations, though it has changed, it…read morehas remained one of the go-to spots for vintage items in Orange County. In fact, located in this facility is the actual offices of Goodwill Orange County. This Goodwill is broken up into what I would define as three main areas serving the general public. There is their main store which offers what can be expected from Goodwill. They have the various clothes, shoes, household items, electronics, furniture, and other things that you would expect to find. The second section is their electronics division. This is truly a unique component of this Goodwill facility. What you will find here, in a separate room, is a lot of used computers. Plus, they have other things such as speakers, TVs, DVD players, and items like that. In terms of their computers, they have a staff that reconditioned them. So, what you will find is computers that are all, for the most part, very functional. There's been a couple of times when I've bought used computers from this facility due to the fact that I've needed to load old programs and the new OS in my current computers would not run them. For the most part, these computers have functioned very well. I will say that one time I bought a MAC laptop that was not function correctly. And, this is where you will need to make a mental note. They do not have a proper return policy. Basically, they sell everything As-Is. Yeah, they say they will do this or do that if your computer has a problem, but basically what turns out is that if you buy it, you've bought it, and that's the end of the story. Thus, at least in that one instance with the laptop, I was left with a non-functioning unit. This is just something to keep in mind. The main thing to do when you purchased a computer from this facility is to fully test it out while you're there. Which they happily allow you to do. Thus, as stated, you usually come away with a highly functioning piece of electronic equipment. The final section of this business is their donation area. This is a drive-thru donation area. This is both good and bad. If you get behind somebody who's unloading tons of stuff and/or wants to talk to the employees, you can be in line for quite a while. This is no fun. But, most of the time you don't have to worry about that. The people that work at this part of the Goodwill are mostly nice. But, like yesterday, I would say that the way the employee who helped me did his job was entirely inappropriate and just lazy. To tell the story, I donated about two thousand CDs. As I was unloading the bags of CDs, I could see that the employee was just lifting the bags up and dumping them into this large bin. Obviously, what was happening, by doing his job in this way, is that many of the cases for the CDs were either gonna be broken and/or the CDs would be bounced out of their cases. I'm sorry, this is just poor workmanship. It is very lazy. And, I believe, this is not the way the job should have been done. But, for most of your donations, you shouldn't have any problem at all. Overall, if you want to go to a really large Goodwill store, that offers a really unique take on electronic devices, and all of the other stuff Goodwill is known to offer, this is probably the best location in Orange County.

The photos provided on the website DID NOT accurately represent the damage inflicted upon the suitcase. The only photo that had ANY semblance of damage showed a scratch/mark and did not demonstrate that the integrity of the entire suitcase was compromised. When I picked up the suitcase, I inspected it very carefully before leaving the warehouse. What I discovered was not a scratch or a mark, but a deep crack that rendered it completely useless for an actual flight. The fact that this massive crack did not show up in the listing was incredibly misleading and dishonest on the part of Loveseat. I showed this crack to one of the warehouse employees immediately and he agreed that this damage was not visible from the photos nor mentioned in the auction. He accepted the returned item, wrote down himself that the item was damaged and requested we contact the office to process a refund. Some days later I received an email saying they rejected my refund request because sales were final and the product would be sold as-is. The customer support person, Ernesto, was incredibly unhelpful and only kept sending me template emails saying that the pictures listed showed the damage but they really didn't. I never would have paid that much in a cracked suitcase. I drove back to Santa Ana one week later to get the product that I had purchased since I had left it there to be returned and the warehouse manager, Phil, agreed that it made no sense that they didn't want to refund me, since the listing photos were not clear and the suitcase was obviously damaged. He said he would talk to Jenny, the owner, and that someone would be reaching out to me after that. As expected, I never heard back from them. They are incredibly disorganized and the second time I went there, there were 2 people who had purchased items that had already been sold in previous auctions so were left without their products. The only thing I can say about Loveseat is DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!

Their pricing methodology was a joke. I was hands on and kept a list of my items with the pricing. I was told this was a waste of time. Later, I found out why. All my collectibles were sold at garage sale prices. Also, items in my home not marked for sale were sold for peanuts without asking. I was ordered out of my home one hour prior to the sale start time on Day #1. They needed this time to "embellish" my sale without my knowledge. These items included fur coats on a rack, many purses of all sizes, scarves , "Chanel" sunglasses and professional jewelry cases. At the end of day #1 of the sale I arrived home with my house left unlocked and no staff present. My living room had been turned into a retail shop. The second day of the sale I arrived to my home earlier to be screamed at by the manager as their items from my living room were being packed up. No customers present.
