South Coast therapy is AMAZING!!! The therapists there are so caring, and so good at what they do. My son has been going to therapy here since he was six months old. He is now 2 years old. He thrives here. He's made so much progress with both gross motor skills and occupational skills! He gets physical therapy from Byn and Jonathan who are the best!!! Both of them are so good with my son and have really helped him improve! He loves them and is always asking to go "play" with Byn and Jonathan! He also gets occupational therapy from Ms.Patty, who is also so great! She is really sweet and has helped my son grow so much! The office staff is Also so responsive and helpful! I'll start off saying I don't understand some of the other negative reviews, as I had not had any major issues with this facility to warrant anything less than 5 stars. The therapists are great, and they are easy to schedule with... WITH the caveat that the facility is really busy so you will need to make some effort to work with scheduling to find a permanent time slot. That's not with just this facility, that's with general health care. They work with you to make sure your preferences for scheduling are upheld, and they are flexible with us when we have to cancel one-off appointments for issues. We have had our kid go through physical therapy for developmental delay, and we see a lot of great progress. She looks forward to coming here as it's a "play time" for her, and through their exercises that engage kids like it's play time, they are able to get her to improve her gross motor skills and catch up. We had different therapists over the period we have been with them, either due to call-outs or our own scheduling issues, and every single therapist has been more than stellar. Kaiser referred my son to South Coast for occupational therapy twice a week and it was exceptional! The office staff were super helpful. My son's therapists, Grace and Trina, we super sweet with my son while also pressing him to work on his therapy goals! I have been bringing my son to South Coast Therapy since he was 4 months old. He is almost 2 now. He has Down Syndrome and was born with Hirschsprung's Disease and has had two bowel surgeries. Needless to say, he has had many obstacles to overcome (and will continue to overcome). I am so thankful for the dedicated therapists at SCT. He has met so many of his milestones and continues to thrive. I've had the pleasure to work with different therapists at SCT and I haven't met one I didn't like! They are very knowledgeable and professional in their field, understanding of my son's needs and limitations, but also not afraid to challenge him to get him to his next milestone. He doesn't always enjoy it tbh, (he's going through his defiant terrible two's stage early) BUT his therapists aren't phased by that and patiently and creatively come up with other ways to engage and challenge him. Admin is very friendly and they always do their best in finding a substitute when a therapist is out. Their facility is large, clean, and has a ton of equipment that they cater to my son's specific needs. I love bringing him here because I know he will greatly benefit from it. Terrible place to try to get an appointment. Insurance authorized for assessment, but they won't schedule because they said they have trouble getting paid by insurance. First time, I called for my daughter last year they had no therapists available. This time I called for my son and they won't take my insurance even though insurance already approved authorization. Why are they even on the list to take the insurance if they won't schedule patients. Ridiculous. read more

I'm a home health nurse and I've been here with a patient for physical therapy and been very impressed with the therapists. They were great with all the kids that I could observe, including my patient and his brother and they constantly cleaned the equipment and toys. The office was easy to deal with. When I got a new patient who needed feeding therapy, I did not hesitate to recommend them. Unfortunately, this experience was not good. The OT was not sure about doing the eval. Then she decided to do it and told pt's mom she'd get a report and recommendation of service. Nothing was ever received and they never returned her calls. However, a year later they did bill her for the visit. Sad to see them go so far down. read more

I bring my 4-month-old here twice weekly and we love it. It's far from where we live, but honestly so worth it. We have two different therapists (Haley and Sarah) and I am always so relieved that they not only remember her progress from the previous week but also seem to read each other's notes. I don't have to repeat myself every time I'm there because of this attention to detail. They are so great with my daughter and explain everything really well so that I know what to do at home. Such a great place! I took physical therapy here for about a year and I absolutely loved it. 3.5 stars? I'm not surprised. After reading a lot of the poor reviews regarding scheduling, I had to write a review myself to support all the claims about poor services. We have one session with speech and one with physical therapy every week. We got an email 9 MINUTES before our speech therapy appointment that our session was cancelled and that instead it would be replaced by physical therapy with a totally new physical therapist. Our speech session was cancelled for a new evaluation for another child which is fine, but don't tell me that 9 mins before the appointment. My child is 1.5 years old, we're not gonna jump in with a new person after months of PT. So we cancelled this new PT session and they tell me it's gonna count as a no show. They also inform me that the weekly speech that we have been getting for three weeks is no longer guaranteed, they'll let us know if there are cancellations and we would be added on. I'm too busy for this nonsense and go to a professional establishment. You have options, just take some time and do the research, dont waste your time here. I wish I read the reviews before I came here. The management/administration team is very unprofessional and lack the skills plan ahead and manage schedules. There are plenty of professional PT/OT/Speech programs in OC. Chatterbox speech pathology or OC speech services, highly recommend!! read more

My son was referred to SCT by his pedicatirican and our medical group. After visiting the clinic for a speech and OT evaluation, we began scheduling services for him 2 times a week for OT and 2 times for speech. For the first week and half, maybe two weeks at most, things went well. Then, we found out after arriving at our scheduled time that a provider was sick at the last minute. I figured that's fine and totally understandable but communicated my displeasure with the lack of communication sigh the office staff (Pia). This happened several more times and we reiterated the importance of communication with families to the office staff. We notified Pia that beginning 8/28 with advance notice that our son will no longer be able to go to his OT sessions until we figure something out with his school schedule since school started on Since their availability for OT and speech, especially speech, were limited, we wanted to set up an IEP with school our son attends to move him from AM to PM class. This will allow him to go to services. We went through the entire process and finally booked for him to start with SCT again in January. I was told that on 12/30, SCT called and left a message for us regarding their cancellation of our son's services. This is an epic lie because our cellular voicemail is not set up. I can't speak to the quality of their services because the number of times someone staffed by SCT was actually present for a scheduled appointment I can count on my fingers but their overall practice is unacceptable. read more

My son has been at this center for 7 years, the therapists are good but in recent years they have been quitting, and for a reason! After COVID I have seen non-positive changes in this center, and its biggest problem is in the administrative area. Allan does not know how to deal with clients, Pia is not at all interested in children's services. If a therapist resigns, they do nothing to find another person to replace them, the children are left without a therapist, and they want one to fit into their schedules, they do not consider that the children also have other services apart from the one they take into this center. This is the only place where they have asked me to call to see if there is a space, in other centers they are the ones who call you, practically there they don't want to do anything. They want to leave all the work to the parents, as if we had nothing to do. My son has been without services for 4 months, because since his Therapist left, they no longer found someone to take the children's cases. My son was never able to get schedule ! I called everyday and they told me no they didn't have any openings and they expired his therapy cause he needed a 3 month evaluation . My son was born at 24 weeks and was in the NICU for 3 months. After he got discharged he received Physical Therapy for his Torticollis and for his development. With the help of all the amazing Physical Therapist it got resolved right away and referred me to a Cranial Tech for a Helmet to help with his plagiocephaly. My daughter started receiving services in November. They gave me an apt for a certain day that didn't work for me, but I made it work because I really wanted to get her seen. Every week since then I have been trying to get a different day and they never were able to accommodate me. It sucks that this location can care less whether or not the child is seen. After so many attempts at trying to get my daughter seen a different day it got annoying and I'm done.If you are a working parent, trying to balance your child's needs and your work, please don't go here. Loved the service I received the first time. I loved the interaction the physical therapist was having with my daughter and she was very detailed. However, once insurance was approved I tried to schedule for continuing treatment and was told there were no ongoing openings at this time and that I would have to call back to see if they have openings other days or if there were any cancellations that day then I can come in. We finally got our daughter started in OT, after 3 months trying to just get an appointment at another location. I've been taking my sons here for about 4 years. I have nothing but love for every body that I've come across. They understand my boys needs and have always been very accommodating. Jerry, Laurie, Allen, Stephanie and all of the PT, OT and Speech are wonderful. My kids are always excited when we pull up and sometime cry when we leave. It always very clean. I have been taking my son to South Coast Therapy for 2 years now. The therapists are wonderful! They are super caring, helpful, supportive and very informative. The care he has received has been such a blessing and his progress has been outstanding. They have all the things needed to make the therapy successful...a rock wall, jungle gym, swings, stairs, a kitchen, sensory and tactile tools, bean pit, etc. When I had a billing question, the office manager spent a half hour explaining it to me. My 3yr old son was directed to take OT (Occupational Therapy) from South Coast Therapy through my Medical Insurance Kaiser. However even after 20 sessions of their therapy my son did not show any progress through their techniques. I have been raising this concern to South Coast Therapy periodically since 3rd month but they never made any changes in their techniques which eventually wasted my time during my work hours driving my son to South Coast Therapy every Monday's between 2 - 3 pm with 1.20 mins drive time and 25 miles distance from home (back and forth). On top of everything it made us more stressful for not having improvement in our Son's OT. Hence after end of 20th session i had my Kaiser Doctor know about out concerns and stopped the OT therapy immediately. This place is just another money making business center, none of your concerns will be heard or addressed. I have legally filed a complaint about this organization for affecting my credit history without my knowledge or any prior notice. read more
